They're from St. Louis, they did a show last night at The Pageant, you got a free ticket if you pre-ordered the CD and I don't think they filled it. It holds around 1700 people I think, same place Eva played last time. I've heard Every Time I Die quite a bit, it's not bad, I almost checked out more based on Nate's avatar but never got around to it. Besides, I hate Smile Empty Sole, I'm indifferent towards Three Days Grace, and I like Revis despite not owning Places For Breathing yet. Oh any by the way Page Avenue is their 8 Mile. One of the guys was on the radio the other day.

I just heard one of their new songs on the radio...it was on the top 8 at 8...totally thought it was Cauterize at first though  Good stuff, although it seems like they are following the sound of a lot of the new bands out there. But still...good shit :D

I have their cd it is o.k. Not one of my favorites but I will listen to it. My favorite songs are "Swallow the Knife" and "Burning Years". "Anthem of Our Dying Day" is good too but it is overplayed.

Yeah, I saw them in January with Linkin Park. SOTY kicked ass. They were funny, and I was amazed with how they could do flips WHILE PLAYING GUITAR!
Page Avenue is a good album.
I have respect for Story Of The Year.

I saw them with LP also. The lead singer (dunno his name) fell off the stage during "enter sandman".

Yeah, they really surprised me. I wasn't expecting there cd to be THAT good, but it's amazing. It's nice to hear a band actually PLAY their instruments. They really showed me something, and the lyrics are great. Of all the songs on there though, I don't like Sidewalks that much. Oh wel, it is there most pop song. It will probably gain some fans.

"Sidewalks" is an o.k. song, not really one of my favorites off of the album. I am kinda surprised that the never used "And The Hero Will Drown" like KosmO said it was on NFS:U. Sometimes they pick songs that will gain the most fans and not wich one sounds good overall. Oh well.

So had it not been on MTV, you would have reacted a different way towards it?
Or do you hate it just because it's on MTV?
Just wondering.

ohh! I see. so what your saying, is that if any band uses MTV as a way to sell records, in order for them to not starve, and feed ther families and such, they've sold out. And this, ladies and gentleman, is why I don't understand the hardore underground people. They'd rather have their favorite indie band die of starvation, then enjoying the fruits of their labor. People who are like this, usually aren't musicians, or have never taken a music marketing class, or they would see that ANY means of promotion is good, even if technically it's something bad being said about the band. Just like the old saying goes, there's no such thing as bad publicity. If I was in a position to use MTV to reach a wider audience, I would NOT hesitate for a SECOND. Being poor, and hungry, but maintaining indie cred, is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
But, it's only my opinion on the subject, and that is yours, so whatever. :D

Did anyone see them on Hard Rock live a couple weeks ago? It was wicked. The guitar players are doing flips and kicks and stuff, and the singer has one of the baddest screams I've ever heard. They played my favorite song too, "Dive Right In"(although, I liek pretty much the whole damn cd,lol) They rock live, it's obvious why they are headlining the Nintendo Tour.

RIGHT ON HUN. one of my friends is the same way. i took her to an Ev concert and while the band was setting up she was like "see if i took youto one of my fave bands concerts they would've been ready like that" and i was just like yeah and they probably wouldn't sound as good. underground stuff may be good but why would you want to watch your fave bands starve? btw Story of The Year may have been on MTV a few times but their album Big Blue Monkey that was released a while before Page Avenue could definitely be considered indie. just cuz you don't like the song doesn't make them sell outs. alot of people could say Evanescence sold out but Ben Moody said something to the tune of "Just because something's catchy [why it may be on MTV] doesn't mean you're selling out..." my point is MTV does not= selling out.
Anyway moving on. yeah i love Story of the year. Page Avenue is one of those albums you just blast while on the beach with your friends down the shore.
