View Full Version : Username Colors Clarification

ToB
05-29-2006, 01:55 PM
I've seen this debate come up in a couple other threads, and I just wanted to clarify my stance on it.

I don't care what color you make your name. The reason for this is that all the people who need to be identified (paid subscribers, moderators, admins, welcoming committee members) all have the little logos beneath their names.

So go crazy!

Thanks for the clarification, now I don't have to change my color :)

Glad to hear that. I did want yellow but then I didn't want everyone yelling at me accusing me of being a welcome commitee wannabe :p

Pink it is I think :)

I thought this would be a good place for this, but when I bought my username color I forgot to add the # sign in the front, so it didn't change, do I just have to wait a while & buy a new one or can that be fixed?

That's retarded if you do. Is this true? Somepople just want color and not bold + color..

Complications ensue for Paid Subscribers only. They can either buy something else, or contact a friendly mod and ask for assistance.

Hum. This causes me to assume we might get unlucky and wind up with an unfriendly mod. ;) And here I was thinking you were all just smiles and candy, the lot of you. I'm so naive.

End.

Do we change the colors of our names in our profiles?

Do we change the colors of our names in our profiles?

You have to buy a colour in the shop, with points.

You go to the vbPlaza. There should be a link for the 'vbPlaza' near the top in the centre of your screen :)
As Codger said, you need to have the correct amount of points in order to get what you want.

Then they have a red username... ::gasp:: :P

(Actually, if you're concerned that they'd be using the moderator color, ToB addressed it somewhere that he doesn't give a crap what color you want to make your name.)

I tried making mine green(oldschoolesf) like a week ago, but I musta done something wrong cause it didnt change.
In the color box do you put "green" or "#00ff00"?
*shrug* not really that big a deal to me, I dont post enough for anyone to notice. lol

I put the #(number) in, it doesn't work if you leave the # off.

And since you're a paid subscriber it really doesn't matter because you still have to buy something in addition to the color for the color to show. Like, for mine I needed to buy the color (and I just put in the color instead of the code, I think for some colors it'll work better if you use the code), and then the bold username as well, and then the color showed up. I don't think non-PSes need to worry about that... even so, I'm pretty sure that if you PM a mod they'll help ya out.

If anyone has any advice about this, I'd appreciate it.

Today at work I was noticing that the glow on my username had disappeared, so I changed the color of the text itself, because it was otherwise unreadable without the glow. Now, I just got home and noticed my glow has reappeared. This is apparently because of using 2 different operating systems or browsers or something, but now I have an ugly mess! Any advice on how to remove the glow?

(And I'm out of points, so that idea won't work...)

::::edit:::: Nevermind, problem solved! Thx.

DhammaSeeker

The glow doesn't work on Firefox, so if that's the browser you use at work and you use MSIE at home, that would explain it.

^I saw on here were PSs have to purchase something else after color. I bought the color "#FF0066" and then black for my user title but the color for my username still didn't show. Help?

You have to purchase something other for your username (bold, italic, etc) not the usertitle.

I don't think the glow works on anything other than IE, gotta love those MS proprietary extensions.

*wonders if I have enough points*

I am very confused. I entered this 'bank' think and it's all about withdrawing and depositing, I have no idea what it means. Do I have to deposit points to get a color username???

If you have money in the bank you have to withdraw it first in order to buy something from the vbplaza. If your still confused I would suggest asking a mod to help you out :)

Helped, though the contrast between #336699 and #666666 is approaching zero.

I made a boo boo. I wanted to change the color of my username, but the user title changed instead, when I didn't want it to. I thought User Title meant our names, not the writing underneath...

Can someone help me fix it up?:)

I just purchased a colored username with points, too. Definitely did not get what I had asked for, though.

Can someone change my title from Red to Plum, please? I'd really appreciate it.

I was looking through this thread, and I noticed that a lot of people changed the color of their username by typing in the hex code of their desired color.

So I was wondering, if you want to change your username color, but you don't know the hex code, is there any place that we can possibly view a list of the actual color names that will work?

I hope that made a bit of sense. :(

http://www.evboard.com/showthread.php?t=32093 To see the colors and their codes. *nods*
The only place you can see the actual names is when you post something, by clicking on the colors. It'll show the name that way. I don't know if there are any other ways though...

Did you actually type in "pink," or did you enter the hex code for the shade you wanted? Whenever you enter the hex code, be sure you include the # in front of it, or else your name will stay white! That's probably what happened.

Here, try again. I probably won't be using my points for a while. *donates some points*

:)

EDIT. Darnit, I guess DhammaSeeker beat me to it. Oh well. :) I type slow. You can use the points to make your name pink AND bold!

=p

Yes, you have an option to remove the color at no additional cost.
