These are JUST my thoughts:
WildAngel, You gave me the impression that you were holding back..too quiet. I think there were a lot of people in your home...lol!
Alarandiia, haha I like the intro!! You're not a good rapper so..lol. You could have told someone to do that.Very...different. I don't like your voice but good job.
Melanie, I think this song wasn't made for your voice. But it was nice so.
OctoberWhispers, your voice is very cool but I think something is missing.
Nagini, I like very much your voice. You sang CMWYS, My Immortal and Hello like an angel and this song wasn't the exception. I hope you win, good luck!
Darko, I know why you didn't submit your track. Your voice don't match with that song. But I think you have an amazing operatic voice an someday we will hear you once again.
I didn't talk about the keys or something...these are the finals and it's too boring to start to talk about it now.
Everyone did a great job, congrats to all of you!

I voted for Alarandiia. I absolutely love your voice, and I love your rencition of this song, too!!! and the thing I love the most is that your voice is very different and strong. The other contestants also did a very goos job, although some seemed to be holding back... soory that Darko didn't submit, it would've been good to hear from her...
It would be good if some guy had passed to the finals, just for the pleasure of hearing a man's rendition of Bring me to life...

Wow. I'm so envious of the great voices y'all have. Anyway, I'm just going to be my opinion here... I'm not really 'trained' like some of you, remember.
Melanie: I think you have a really good voice, but I don't think your voice suited this song, in my opinion. Sorry.
OctoberWhispers: I LOVED your version of this song. I had such a hard time choosing between you and Alarandiia. Awesome job!
WildAngel: Yours was good too, but I wasn't really fond of the chorus. Personal preference, I guess.
Alarandiia: I was so ready to vote for OctoberWhispers... but then I had to hear yours. Wow. I loved the beginning. I've never heard anyone cover that part of the song, but yet you sang it so flawlessly. I'm in awe.
Nagini: Again, yours was good, but I think you were a bit loud in some parts of the chorus. But I blame that on the microphone. :p
Again, great job to all of you guys, but my vote goes to Alarandiia, because I think she deserves it. :D

I voted for OctoberWhispers.
Alarandiia was my runner up, but I didn't vote for her because her voice wasn't rockish enough. Don't get me wrong, I love classical-sounding voices, but for this song, you would need to have both. I think your intro rocked, though, and you arguably did it better than Amy on ABH (then again, hers was live so you had an advantage).
That's my little explination.

I don't think the track truly suited anyone's voice this week, but based on raw vocal talent alone, my vote goes to Mel. HUGE props for not having to have equipment do all the work for you. :)

Hey guys, first off I want to say that I am genuinely proud of all of you that submitted tracks for this final week. I seriously wish I could hug each one of you, y'all did such a great job and it takes a lot of courage and passion to really do something like this. Great job - and good luck to all the finalists.
I have to say that I'm forfeiting a critique this time. I just can't bear the thought of ripping you each to pieces. So sorry, but you're just going to have to deal with congratulations and ninja love from me. ::Huggles::
My vote is going to Alarandiia. I don't care how the voting turns out, I don't care who wins, but girl - you ARE the DEFINITION of what it would mean to be the EvBoard RockStar in my honest (and extremely critical) opinion. You had everything in your rendition of this week's song. Your voice was great, you really went above and beyond with yourself.
And you know, yours was the most energetic and entertaining. I don't care that you can't rap and you didn't do a mirror image of the song - you made it your own, you made it fun, and you made it sound GOOD. I liked how you decided to sing it and I'm glad you made the creative choices that you did. You should be very proud.
I felt how much you tried, I could tell the kind of effort you put into it... and it was all done so well. I appreciate your voice so much, it's incredibly unique, and you don't sound very much like Amy at all. I'm so proud of you for embracing your individuality and taking what you could do with this song to the next level. You deserve to win hun, for real.
Everyone did a great job, and you ALL deserve to be in the finals. But I think that Alarandiia is the one that should wield the RockStar title. Good luck again! I truly admire all of you that submitted this week, especially now that the veil of anonymity has been burned. Oh God, I'm getting all soft... I need to kill a rabbit or something... yucky niceness. >.<
(I'm sure you're all so depressed I didn't jump down your throats, but I just didn't have the heart.)

Alarandiia, my gosh..that was flawless!! the intro blew me away, and you have absolutely spot-on pitch, even when improvising. i love it!!! i almost like it better than the original
everyone else did very well, but Alarandiia's version just knocked me flat

Once again ( I sound like a broken record, y'all don't gotta tell me anything, lol)the competition is no way on an even keel because of the fact some people's submissions sound like they belong on a CD already, whilst others must be content with a cheapy mic and software.
That said, Alarandia's version was by far the most unique and also had the most professional sound to it.It would truly fall under my category of a cover that could be released for everyone to hear. I loved how different it was.
However if this were a live performance no bells and whistles would be present for anyone.I know at regular karaoke nights, unless someone takes in a track they have made with all their own backups and stuff it just isn't very common to hear. At any rate the beginning was uber gorgeous, it was unique and cool. A good cover choice to consider for a future CD, perhaps?:)
Mel- your voice is totally lovely as always.Your track was the most raw and least edited which totally shows just how good you are. I hope to hear you sing live someday or better yet sing together!
Wild Angel-This song just doesn't work with your pretty delicate voice. You need to come out of your shell a bit vocally and you will really be awesome.
OctoberWhispers- Your voice is so lovely. It works well with the song as well.
Nagini- Your voice is also so pretty. I really liked your rendition.
I'm not gonna reveal my vote but you all did such an good job.

Nagini- I really love your version you sing it well!, You voice is fantastic, I know you had mic issues in the choruses but That for me never took anything away from The performance, It was Amazing! You really Deserved to Be in this Final Well Done!!!
October Whispers- I am amazed every time i hear you sing! You are absolutly Awesome!! Your Version is very Natural and flowing i don't feel you pushed or tried to hard at all, it very flowing and a pleasure to listen to, So far you have my vote!
Wildangel- I love what you tried to Achieve with this, It was very Original!! And I think you kinda pulled it off, You just needed to project you voice a little Better But you have a young one and i know what it's like to have to sing quietly, And still try and project your voice.. But definatley NOT a bad effort, Congrats. And OMG the "don't let me die here" part gave me shivers.:)
Alarandiia- Amazing as Usual! I knew You'd Make it to the Final, I Do love your Voice alot and this Rendition Rocks! not too sure about the Rap though sorry. :D. In fact that's probably the reason you will not get my vote. But Congrats On a job well done!
Melanie- You have a very powerful voice and You project it well, Your not afraid to get it out there, I also love how Natural you are, you Rock!! It's Between You and OctoberWhispers. I wish I could Vote For two..
Congrats To All Really Well Done Songs!!

WOW. They are all so good. I have to say I even got the shivers! I always knews that the person who I have voted for would shine like crazy at me. Alarandiia my vote just has to go to you without a doubt. I have goosebumps from your track! I love everything about it. Truly stunning!
Melanie - I enjoyed listening to your track, but I could see that this would be a song that you wouldn't optionally sing. Being honest to start with, you didn't seem on note, though that's not to say you don't have a great voice, because you really do! When you started getting into the song I really enjoyed it. You did awesome!
OctoberWhispers - You have a lovely voice. It was very pleasant to listen to. Though the reason my vote didn't go to you was simply because I felt you weren't singing to your full extreme. The other voices seem to have that little more power behind them that just simply appeals to my liking in a voice a little more. It's not to say I do not like your voice, as I really really do. You did an awesome job.
Wildangel - Same again, I enjoyed listening to your song. I noticed that you've edited your voice. It sounds like a lot of reverb which I would have preferred not to hear. That's not to say you don't have a lovely voice! Like OctoberWhispers it's really pleasant to listen to. I noticed you were a little flat in places though the reverb, covered that a little. Good job though. I say again, you've all done really awesome jobs!
Alarandiia - Going into a little more depth to what I said above, I love how you did the live version of Bring Me To Life. It's the most powerful version. You seemed to hit every note perfectly. Your entry is definitely something I would listen to if I was in the mood to listen to bring me to life without Amy's voice. It's so beautifully sang in every way. Your singing is definitely an inspiration to me as I am working on my voice to sound pretty much like yours. (Though I have to say I have alot of work to go!)
Congrats Alarandiia. Your voice is truly stunning.
Nagini - You know I love your voice and you did an awesome job with this track! I really enjoyed listening to it. You hit every note perfect and your voice was really pleasant to listen to. Though there was something that I could hear that seemed like you were slightly restricting yourself. It sounded like you didn't let go fully. If you did you would have amazed me just as much as Alanrandiia. You were in my top 2. Awesome job!
Note: I would just like to note that any critisicm within this post is simply to help you. Using my musical ear I am just telling you what I personal think. In no way would I want to hurt anyone's feelings. With music there is no good in lying to someone. How are they supposed to improve if you do not tell them the truth. That's my theory anyway :)

Congratulations to everyone who made it this far. You all have lovely voices, and in my opinion, each one of you has something special and unique about your voice.
I'm not sure whether or not I agree with the fact that you are all singing the same song--not everyone is suited to the song, and I think some would have more of a chance to shine if they were given other choices.
But I digress.
Melanie: You have a lovely voice, it is very unique and enthralling. I don't think the song suited you, and I really wish you had been given another choice, because you are amazing. I would love to hear more from you in the future, regardless of who wins, because I am a fan of yours. You DEFINITELY deserved to be in the finals, congratulations honey.
OctoberWhispers: You have a beautiful voice. I actually put your version of Away From Me on my computer, I liked it so much. I think that everyone should have had the chance to be mixed and sound more professional for this final round, because in the end, people are going to vote for the one that sounds the most professional. However, you have talent and I enjoyed yours immensely. You did not oversing the song, you put emotion into it, and you made it your own. Great job!
WildAngel: You sounded very ethereal and haunting in your entry, but it did sound like you were holding back. I wish you had let it go a little more, because you have a stunning voice and I would have loved to hear a little more from you. But you did a good job, and I'm glad you made it into the finals. :D
Alarandiia: LOVED the intro. You sang the high notes quite well, without having to strain for them. I liked how you made the song your own, as you have done with all your entries that you have had in this contest, and yours sounds very professional. Congrats on getting into the finals, but then, we all knew you would, didn't we? :)
Nagini: You have a very pretty voice, but you should have just let yourself go and belted the song out. You have entered amazing entries nearly every week, and I know what you are capable of. Congratulations on getting into finals (several times over :) )
Like etherealme, I am not going to reveal my vote. But congratulations to all, and good luck!

I'm going to vote for Alarandiia.
Needless to say, everyone deserves their own credit, and they wouldn't be in the final if they weren't talented singers, so I'm not going to nitpick.
I voted for Alarandiia mainly because she branched out to make the recording as much of a stand out and her own as possible, and it all came trogether really nicely. I think the intro you did was really well done and it was a nice touch to record your own backing vocals. To me you were the strongest with the song and just the best overall. Well done. :D

Agreed. I was under the impression that everyone was doing the same song to be on the same playing field. Krissie, you're intro is beautiful but it just seems that the thing that sets you apart is everyone else's disadvantage.
We all know you Rock sister! *I've seen it first hand, two smokin' women on one stage* Drools

It's harder to critique when you actually know who's singing what. :p
You are all great, obviously.
Melanie: At first, I didn't think your voice went well with this song at all, but as the song progressed, I started getting into it more. I like how you sang "only you are the life among the dead." :) Good job.
OctoberWhispers: You have a pretty voice, but nothing really wowed me about your version. :( I love how strongly you ended though, that was great. :)
Wildangel: Your version sounds sort of creepy. I like creepy. ;) I love the "bring me to life" parts. And the "don't let me die here" was awesome. haha.
Alarandiia: I adore you. I love your voice, I love your rendition of this song; it's amazing. Flawless. <3 <3
Nagini: You have a great voice. I'm sure you know that. :p I like your "bring me to life" parts also. lol. You did a great job.
Darko: I'm sad you didn't submit a track. :(
I'm voting for Alarandiia, because I feel she went above and beyond for her entry.
Good luck to everyone. :)

I'm not saying who i voted for but, it seems to me that this contest is bias. Many are familiar with Alarandiia and therefore most of the votes go to her. Every singer in this competition is awesome in their own right. That is why they are here. There were some that didn't even make the finals that are fantastic talents as well. That is the way these things work sometimes.
Saying there are better singers in this competition than _______ is just unnecessary.
It is your opinion and not a factual statement whatsoever so knock it off, please.Let your vote represent your opinion, it's not required to voice it.
The only thing that is fact are some had good equipment to work with that could enhance their entries to an entirely different level. That in no way puts people on an even keel when those judging are going by how professional the track sounds but there was no where in the rules that stated someone who knew how to mix and add flavor to their submissions could not so no one has done anything wrong here.
The contestants( this week and prior) all deserve respect. It takes alot guts and a pretty hard shell to put yourself out there to be open to critiques and comments .
I will admit my feelings were even a little hurt regarding some of the comments I received. However,I've been singing in front of audiences longer than some of you have been alive. Bottom line, be kinder and if you don't care for their voice please keep that to yourself. Sheesh!

I completely disagree. I, for one, don't know Alarandiia at all. But I happen to love her voice and her version of this song, and that's why she got my vote. Everyone has different opinions...and just because they may differ from your own doesn't make them wrong.

I must be the only one who read the rules for this part of the competition, it is clearly stated that the contestants must use the KARAOKE TRACK THAT IS SUPPLIED. Alarandiia did not do that, she used the live version which was not the supplied track for this leg of the competition, hence, for the rule violation I did not vote for her but for someone else. I know, it sounds petty but, the rules are stated clearly in the thread that announces week 5 winners and week 6 song. I was very tempted to vote for her as well but after considering those people who submitted the correct version I believe I voted correctly. Trust me, I have to say that Alarandiia is very nice, she spent a few hours sending me karaoke tracks via MSN Messenger so this isn't a vendetta or any of that stupid sort of sh*t.

I just want to say that I got Dhamma's permission and he stated in the thread that anyone else that wanted to do the intro was able to as well. I'm not trying to cheat here, I'm not trying to have an unfair advantage. I just wanted to make the song my own, that's all.

I just wanted to say a few things...
First of all, I think every entry this week is amazing. I think all of us have very unique voices, and even if Dhamma didn't name the entries, we could all probably pick out who did what. Everyone did an amazing job, and I'm honored to be amongst these other contestants.
Most people know that I am a musician, and that I have a home studio. So yes, I have the ability to make my covers sound more professional than most people who entered this contest. But I don't want that to become a deterrent from the other contestants, or even myself. I've noticed a few people's comments have been in that vain, basically saying their vote went to "this person" because they "did/didn't" have "this or that". I completely understand, and I respect people's opinions. But this is a contest, and votes should go towards the vocals you enjoy the most. I know most people are going by who they liked the best, but I've seen some that are voting for me just because of the intro, or voting against me because I have professional equipment.
I want this to be fair. I don't want the sound quality of my entry to have any bearing on my votes. And I certainly don't want people to think I "cheated" by adding the live intro. I simply wanted to make it my own.
Each contestant in this competition has made their entries their own, and each finalist has full and deserved right to be here. I just think people have been taking things into account that shouldn't matter. (i.e. who knows who, who has better/worse equipment)
I had actually debated submitting an entry with no effects or harmonies simply because I hate when anyone is judged on their ability/inability to mix. But I am a perfectionist and as a musician I just couldn't submit something that wasn't my all; that wasn't my 100%.
So whether you know the person or not, whether you think they used the correct reverb here/there, or whether they sounded good on a crappy mic shouldn't matter. What should matter is the overall vocal performance.
I'm sorry, I just felt I needed to say something.
Nagini

Everyone needs to calm down, take a deep breath, and think about what you're bickering over.
This is not something to lose sleep over, it's an online contest that'll have no effect on your daily life whatsoever. This contest is supposed to be fun! Dhamma didn't start this so we could bash people and make them feel horrible over something so personal. How would you feel if it was your track people were making negative comments on?
Yes, I know we're not perfect and tend to feel negative emotions, especially during contests. However, that doesn't mean you have to post them here. Online it's much easier to just walk away from a situation. I can't tell you how many times I've written long posts only to deleted them on a second thought. The large majority of people here love music and, naturally, are vocalists to some degree. When entering this contest it's natural to expect a good deal of competition.
There are so many talented singers on this board and only one will win. However that doesn't mean others are not talented. "EvBoard Rockstar" is just a title, nothing more. This is something to be enjoyed and shouldn't cause drama. So please, think twice before you post a negative comment.

That's what I'm thinking.

Yes. Dhamma stated in the first post that the poll would close sometime early this morning, so it's been over for some time now. However, I imagine since EvBoard's been experiencing technical difficulties Dhamma simply hasn't gotten around to this thread and declaring the winner, etc.
EDIT: And I guess since the points are gone, the winner no longer gets a choice between the extended subscription and points. But an extended subscription under the new PS only rules actually worked out awesome. :)

If it is ok with everyone there are just a few things I want to say.
For starters, anyone who participated in this contest over the last six weeks is a winner. It takes guts to make yourself vunerable with something as personal as your voice, especially knowing that it will be critiqued and judged for all the world to see. Each and everyone of you has earned my respect.
As far as the equipment issue goes I am in somewhat neutral territory. For the people who stated that I sounded more raw because of very little editing, well that would be because there was no editing involved. I haven't the slightest clue of how to edit and honestly I didnt have the time or the inclination to find out. That being said, if I had had the equipment and the know-how I would have most assuredly have used it to my advantage. There is nothing wrong with having good equipment and one shouldnt be penalized one way or another.
I dont mean to single out one person here but I feel like it needs to be said.
Krissie, I can tell that this has been upsetting for you and that breaks my heart. For the record, I have seen Krissie (Alarandiia) in action and I have also had the honor and distinct pleasure of sharing a stage with her. With or without equipment she is amazing and most certainly an original talent.
OctoberWhispers, Wildangel, Alarandiia, Nagini, and Darko, we are all winners and I am honored to be amongst all of you. I think we should all get together and sing "We are the Champions" just for the hell of it. :D

I just want to say that my vote simply went to the person it did for valid reasons. I have said in the past and I say it again, it's not about the quality, it's not about the person it is, my votes simply went down to how the vocal arrangement was on note, how the song was made there own, and how I enjoyed the song on a personal level. As said before, you are all winners, and you know that, and I more than congratulate that.
Oh, and if you sing we are the champions, can I join in? :p (I may have to harmonise 'I'm not so the champion' but still, you get the picture ;))

This thread is just crawling with gayness right now. I wish Dhamma would just announce the winner so we can stop spewing all this "yay-good job-we're all winners" bullshit.

They are probably still trying to figure out what to do with it since the board was down half of the time for the voting.

Maybe it will be re-opened for an extra day and a half of voting or something? But I mean yes, everyone did a fabulous job and wow and love all-around. (No more of that now though, 'kay?)
