9. acapella for once! :) not bad voice hun, good timing without music. a little too much "jessica simpson" at the end of your words for me :-p
10. the echo (layering?) seems a bit much this song, but you did a good job
11. another song i don't know. for some reason you sound a bit flat on some notes, i'm not sure if it sounds like that in the song tho.
12. concentrate on not sounding exactly like Amy and just sing the notes :) (not intended to be mean!!! we all love Amy but when you try to sing just like whoever sings the song it comes out weird to me). i can hear it when you say "you would be here wiiiiith me" in 'with'. but you can definately sing this song better than i could, i can't hold those notes all the way thru sometimes!!
13. i like the notes in the beginning! you have a very pretty voice and nice job with the vocals behind you.
14. oh my god, i haven't heard this song since "the snowman" movie, that silent one where the snowman tries on the dad's tie and they fly!!!! wow. nice job hun!!!
15. eh, something about this just doesnt' work for me. not sure what it is.

17. and another...... a little breathy on the mic and a tad rushed but not bad

I'm gonna give a full review of this week's trax cos it's the final one.
1 - You have a nice voice. It sounds a bit nasal but it's pretty. The timing is a bit off but still it's a very pleasant listen.
2 - It's soooo quiet i could barely hear it. Try to at least if you can't shout more raise your mike's sensitivity.
3 - Ooooh! An LC song! I love this one! I preferred the lower vocals at the beginning. Your voices don't match at parts of the chorus but at some other parts this is a really awesome song! Kudos! This is one of my favs!
4 - This is a nice song. But you sing it a bit draggy but that's drowned out cos your voice seems awesome. You should shout a bit more.
5 - There's this beep that kinda puts me off at the beginning. And you're very off key. You're more talking than singing. Sorry but I don't like this entry.
6 - The layering gives a nice choir-ish feel. The high notes seem a bit strained but hey they're very difficult notes to hit so kudos at at least hitting them :)
7 - You sound like you have a bad cold here. And you have some trouble singing high notes. And I could actually here a bit of the guitar in the background I would raise the volume for that a bit more.
8 - Wow that's loud. And your voice is soooooo powerful i like it. But not for this song. I'd think of a more soulful quiet approach to this song. And the vocals are really sounding
9 - Kinda nice. It's a good acapella. But the end of your words give a bit of a strange feel.
10 - The echo sounds a bit extra. You should try to lower the volume of the backing vocals cos they were overpowering the parts that amy sang.
11 - Sounds like a sweet song. I'd raise your voice a bit. but overall it's nice
12 - Try to hit the notes well. You sound like your straining your voice. Don't! It sounds like it would be good if you didn't.
13 - Nice vocals in the beginning. Nice voice. A fav! Kudos!
14 - Omg! Nightwish! I <3 this song. You should try a more operatic approach but your version is awesome! Kudos!
15 - The 'Me' in the beginning sounds strained. It didn't really work with the song. But good job on holding the 'mind' part. I never manage. The nagey voice doesn't work with this song well except at some parts. But you have a nice voice
16 - I don't really like the 'mama' at the beginning sounds somewhat off key but then again i never heard this song so i dunno what the key is.
17 - This sounds very nice. you need a pop filter and you need to back off from the mike. Favourite
18 - Nice voice. The song sounds nice. I like this one.
19 - I love this song. But your voice doesn't really work for it. I'd think you were more of a nightwish voice.
20 - I like this song. Is that you playing the guitar? It's awesome! Favourited.
21 - OK so I'm gonna compliment and nag at myself in this one. (I sent Will in)
So speaking as a third-party outsider simply looking at a karaoke song:
OMG I LOVE AYUMI HAMASAKI! SHE PWNS!! I like this song. But back to your voice. It sounds nice especially nice towards the end. The chorus is awesome once you get yourself into it. The verses however some notes were too low for you. But hey nice try! Favourite.

I'm at work at the moment so you'll all have to wait till later to get my vote. Though one thing I will mention now is, why do alot of you hide your voice in effects? I'm a little disapointed. There were some entries that I thought were fantastic though. Some of the voices are definitely high up there!

Tough, TOUGH choice this week for me between #1 and #2. VERY tough. Both were VERY very good, but in the end I felt that #1 had the stronger voice, VERY good vibrato, I'm jealous. :)
I think I know who you are now, I remember you from before. Great job. :)
#2, you did a very excellent job, you almost had my vote. Great track to choose! I feel it suited your voice very well. Though, it was a little quiet. =/

I have to go to work in a few but I've had a chance to listen to 1/2 the tracks thus far.
I have one comment to make about some of the comments here. Nasal, naggy vocals.. Isn't there a nicer way to put that? I'm all for constructive criticism but when a person thinks nasal Willie Nelson tends to come to mind. :p
First off a soprano voice that is recorded on crappy equipment tends to come off a little more like minnie mouse, naggy and nasal more than one would hope. That is why when someone has the benefit of a studio edit and or good mics the tones are richer, fuller, less sharp and more balanced( I asked someone who does studio editing for a living so I know what I am talking about here, lol).
Being a soprano myself, I have noticed this especially when I record stuff.I hate the way I sound on these entries quite frankly. I was having a fit as to why I tend to sound so squeaky( in some places) recorded when live all the dynamics are present in my pitch. The tones get completely lost it seems and comes across almost annoying,drives me totally nuts because I am a complete perfectionist with my vocals most of the time.
If this is frustrating me so much, I would imagine it is a problem for other sopranos as well so I would like to let you all know I am attempting to imagine what your voices are like live.Soprano or otherwise..
You can hear if a person has a raw talent on these recordings. There are those that are completley monotone and without flavor so they probably wouldn't be a lot better live. Some people no matter how much they love to sing simply aren't singers.However, there are about 5 tracks this round that you can just tell the voices are there, they have power or at least tone and are full of interest. Even with the less than stellar recordings.
I gots to go but later on I will vote.

3 - I'm not a LC fan,but i like this song and u did the good job of it. i think if your voice little bit lower,maybe will fit the song.

I'd just like to say that I declare mine entirely of the suckyness. I'm only in it for the constructive criticism, so that maybe one fine day, I won't scare people with my voice. ;) :p

So my vote is caught in between 14 and 21. There were a ton of really great ones, but those two caught my attention the most.
14: This is one of my favorite songs of life. I especially love the Celtic Woman version. You did an AWESOME job, and you really hit those impossibly high notes. I love everything about the vocals, and this was an incredible song choice! You pwn! Blew me out of the water, and it's the only one I really remembered after about 10 minutes. So huzzah for you!
21: I have no clue what you said, but it doesn't matter, because you sounded great. Seriously. And what's even better is that it's a guy that sings great, because to be honest, the majority of guy singers in this contest are just so-so. But you also pwned.
I think I'm going to have to go with 14 for the sheer OMGZWOWILOVETHIS factor, but 21 also captures my soul in little plastic baggies. (A good thing).

I know, I know... everyone be a-feared because the Jane had time to listen to the submissions for this week. So behold my bitchy, uncompassionate criticism! (Again I wrote these as I listened, and they are unaltered, 'cause I'm badass straight-up with you guys.) I'd link to my disclaimer from the last time, but I think you're all mature enough to take it.
1. Interesting, very strong voice. V. different quality in comparison to Amy. I suppose it being so different is a tad hard (for me, lol) - you have a much higher sound and definitely not the kind of depth required for the song, but you sang it well enough. Good job.
2. Nice song choice. Your voice is so quiet. Fuck that. I love the sound of your voice. It's not as polished as it could be, but you're very powerful. Watch the loudness of your voice in contrast to the music. I had to turn my volume up so ridiculously high just to hear you. But aside form that - well done. Sounded great!
3. Not familiar with the song. First person - You're amazing! Beautiful voice. Second person - wow! You guys have VERY different sounds, but both individuals have solid, strong voices, and because your voices are opposite in tone, etc., it was just great! It works. I think this was a great collaboration. Fantastic you two. Don't know who you are, but this was really lovely.
4. Wow. The voices this round are so nice! I like your voice, but you showed no power here. This is a real wussy song, in my opinion. This was the last chance for you to get a spot in the final week. And, with this song, I didn't feel that you wanted it. Good voice, but you should've stepped it up and brought your A-game to show me you cared.
5. O.o; Did NOT expect that voice. You're not flowing through the lyrics very smoothly, lol - are you okay? You sound so nervous - you need to relax!! You sound Russian too. :) I'm partial to Russians. (If I'm wrong, I'm sorry... jeez, but don't tell me if I'm wrong, I'll feel so bad.) You just sound so tense and you're singing so rough. It also sounds more like talking and less like singing. I would've liked to hear more emotion and passion from you. It sounds like you're holding back a lot. Let it out!! Don't be scared. Even if I do bite. ;)
6. ::Piano orgasm:: Ew. Are you singing with someone else or are you singing over your own voice? That sucks... I DON'T like it at all. It's super hard to hear the individual quality of your voice... it takes away from the song... singing it this way. It was just a bad decision to have overlapping voices like that. I can't even get a read on you. :( The end was a little shaky and off.
7. First impression = you're holding back. It sounds like you just don't know how to use your voice. I'm sure you only think you can sing a certain way. There's more there. I can tell... Work at it and keep practicing. You sound sweet, and don't be afraid to sing differently from the original singer... that's probably part of your problem.
8. God I love this song. What is that!? Your voice sounds so --- oh... it's probably your mic quality. Sucks. Makes you sound so artificial. You do have a very nice voice. I just wish that you didn't have that weird effect on your voice. I liked this a lot... minus the shitass quality --> you sang it well, though. You were way too loud at some points... you don't always have to "yell" to get power. I really got that vibe from you when you went louder.
9. Your voice has really nice parts to it. I really like that. The low bits weren't sung very well. Pretty voice though, really v. sweet sounding. Good job, keep at it :) You need work, but you've got something nice to start with. You didn't do so great imitating Amy... make it your own thing... it sounded very contrived and bad when you tried mimicking her.
10. \m/ Cool voice. Yeah... guys represent! I like your voice. The voices are real good this week. Everyone's determined. :P You get points for the song and your voice is good, but it didn't blow me away. It's not quite as strong as some of the other I've heard so far. Really great job.
11. You sound real monotone; there isn't enough variety to your voice. I told someone else I don't think they know how they can you their voice. I get the same impression from you. Yeah, exact same thing.
12. So many tracks... ugh! You should've used the CMWYS track Dhamma included in the Week 1 submissions. It was terrible having Amy's voice in the background. Your voice is really weak sounding, especially in comparison. (That's one of the things where you make the decision to deal with that - Amy being in background - or just pick a different song.) It might just be me thinking that since Amy's there... You're lacking power and depth to your voice. You also don't sound like you know how to use your voice entirely. Once sound, that's all I get from you.
13. OOOooo. Piano... =^_________^= Your voice, babe, is fantastic. Right now, it's between you and the duet for me. You've got a great voice.
14. More piano... hooray! O.o This is different. OMG. I know this song. Wow. Cool. I like this, it's hard to really just hear your voice (sometimes it's not clear). I really like this thought - great job dear.
15. Jesus. When is the end... -.- 6 more man... 6 more... UGH! >.< 7 more!! I counted bad. Fuck. very different voice fo' sure. I really like your rendition. It's definitely you. 16. YOU sound Spanish. :) This... or wait, now you maybe sound Asian instead? anyway, it was interesting. You're not very smooth with the lyrics... only at some points. Your voice doesn't rock my socks like some others have. Something seems awkward, but I can't place my finger on it.
17. Sexy music. :P ::Impatience:: Sing already! --Good there. It just doesn't sound like you're singing. Just talking really fast in a tone you think is pretty. No depth, just nothing. You need to do more with your voice... there's no variety to it as it is.
18. Weird. You have a nice voice, but this is just not doing anything for me. It's sweet, but there's just not enough variety to keep me interested - sorry. Toward the end it sounded more like singing though.
19. Your voice isn't... it doesn't go together, lol. How to say that? It's not pleasant to the ear, because you don't sing smoothly. It's so awkward to listen to. The music has me pumped but your voice totally isn't giving me the same energy.
20. Ooh! I like this... I was kinda into it... your voice, though, gets boring to listen to for me. I was all like yay the first few seconds, but that feeling slowly died. You have a nice voice, but my energy shouldn't drop as the song goes on. :(

I was torn between 13 and 9 (the two My Immortals), but went with 13 because her "I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone/but though you're still with me I've been alone all along" was stronger. I really liked both, though, and I have to say the whole group rocked.

Track #1: You sortof sounded like you had a cold, but your voice was nice.
Track #2: The music's a bit too loud . . . :( I really adore your voice, though. Even though the music overpowers your voice, this is great.
Track #3: Holy shit. You guys did great. Lovelovelove.
Track #4: You have a nice voice. But this wasn't . . . mindblowing or anything. A little boring, actually. =/
