My Music (covers/originals etc)

i am not the world's best singer by any means
i havent had any training, i dont sing often and i have a best friend who has a diploma in music theatre and has passed her grade 8 with distinction o_0, so i often dont have any confidence
BUT, im going to post some of my musical covers or even originals when i record them, on here.

criticise as much as you like because i need it to improve by a long way

some of my originals can be found here:

clicky clicky

but be warned they are so old, my voice has improved shedloads since then

and for now im going to upload a cover i did of my immortal:

I think they're awesome! The only thing I'd suggest is putting a bit more power behind your voice, take a deep breath and really open your mouth. I like the melodies. You're cover of my immortal is a lot stronger (just listening to it now.) I'm really pretty amazed by it! You have a really lovely voice on this track.

I can't really say anything about the confidence thing, because I am exactly the same. :/

Envyway will become famous soon enough
Well to me (this is going off the MI clip), it sounds like your trying to turn the song into this over the top opera. Its very wobbly and all over the place and you constantly switch between singing loudly and quitely. Its not that your voice is bad, its powerful and has potential but it sounds as though your trying to sing in a style which you are just not capable of.

So many girls sing Ev songs in opera style and it really doesnt sound cool at all, IMO.

thanks for the critcism , envyway, i do appreciate people pickin out my negative points as well as any good ones.
i admit that is definitley not one of my best, because well i had throat problems not long ago and to top it off id had a cold earlier that week. I know its not one of my best. Im also one of these where im not keen on singing in the prescence of my parents, so i was trying to sing but at the same time try an keep quiet and it didnt work too well.
When i can i'll edit that and work on the changes i need to make.
=)

EDIT:Well ive tried singing Blowing in the wind without accompaniment, but to be honest i think its awful. i'll put it up and see what you guys think

I liked blowing in the wind, but you seem to go out of your range a lot when you get to the lower notes of the song. I'd suggest singing something a little higher. Also... when you sing where do you feel the sound vibrating? I'm not experienced with technique (as well you know :P) but it at some points it sounds like it's coming out of your nose rather than your mouth. I'm not really one to talk because I can be so nasal at times, but the way I don't is I take a big deep breath and open my mouth wider when I sing. It might be the wrong way of doing it it might be the right way. I did really like it, and btw I don't think you sing as though you're performing opera, you just have a nice natural vibrato in your voice - which to me is lovely to listen to. Your voice has a really nice texture to it as well.

Also, I really did like blowing in the wind, I'm just saying negative things as well as positive because you said it was okay.

EDIT: btw I updated my thread, and it'd be cool if you could cast your eye over it.
