I'm assuming the 1k is for them to install the bait systems?
The termite inspector found mine before I moved in so I used part of the repair $ towards getting them installed.

My no recluse sighting streak ended this morning :/
Oh well. I went a long time without seeing them so it wasn't too big a deal.
I bitched him out while squashing him.

nope. this stuff they are using now is supposedly harmless to animals and humans. it goes around your home and it kills their stomach? i dont know, but he did say it was different than the bait. the only good thing about it really, is if it doesnt work, and the termites come back and eat your house room etc... terminx has to pay for ALL the damages to the home, up to 1 million.

I got to take a shower with this recluse this morning
Glad I sleep with my contacts in or I probably wouldn't have seen it.
After I was done I captured her (looks like a female to me) and tossed her in my recluse torture chamber.

New carpet should be going in, in the two spare rooms within a couple weeks.
I may post pics for the hell of it.

Less than a day and she's plumped up.

btw, that spider behind her was slightly bigger than her and I left them alone for 15min only to come back to find the wrong spider dead.

everytime i look at your spider pics i cringe and put my feet up on something.

so the bug dudes came out and sprayed. they said they should all be dead in abount 6-8 weeks.

I heard a pro recluse exterminator say that those who know they have infestations take precautionary actions that end up becoming habits.

When I'm at the pc, my feet are always resting on the chair legs.

hmm so about 1k bought you a spray that would rid you of the problem area or rid you of any problem areas?
Is the amount like from a 1yr contract or just one "end it all" spray solution?
That's a good warranty about fixing any damages.

I put part of my repair $$ towards the termite ground bait systems to be installed and got a lazy followup.
I was told that the $300 a yr to have them monitored isn't worth it bc all they do is come out, open it up and check the bait to see if it's been nibbled on etc.
If it has then they pop the poison stick in there and you know the rest.
The poison stuff I hear can be bought at lowes so I'll prly just go that route next year.

I think my main problem with the insects and spiders came from previous owners having 2 pet doors that didn't even close properly.
Not to mention the crappy windows that were here before I had them replaced.
(Never ever use or recommend a company called Window World)

I live near a creek so there's an abundance of prey for any species of spider there.
Every house near me probably has the same problem I do.

The time and $ put into this just doesn't seem worth it for me yet on the other hand, I'm all moved in and am still determined to stop their entry points.
It sucks seeing my account drop from having to buy all this sealant, new carpet etc.
As long as the cat doesn't tear the carpet up that part will be worth it.
Had I known this was a high population recluse zone, I'd of kept looking for houses.
I am glad that I'm the only one in the house that I have to worry about though.

no.. the $300 a year isnt worth it. after the initial $1000 they come out every year and re-check it for only $200 and that fee is transferable to the new owner if we sell. the spray itself has a lifetime protection. so thats really good.

the $1000 is to COMPLETELY get rid of them. they sprayed around the whole house and under the bathtub. they said alot of people dont get under the bathtubs and that is where alot of problems come from. we just demoed all the tile in my shower and sure enough.. there is termite damage everywhere. oh wells. its getting fixed soon. soon... it will be a nice functional bathroom with granite counter tops and all new tile and all new plumbing! im so excited!!!
