Hmm... you mean to leave the "skelleton" behind... meaning the lines that you draw initially for reference but that are thin enough to erase with your finger? *scratches head* |

Yeah, ok: when you begin drawing, you do the entire face, rite? But, when you shade, look at the parts where there is a lota lite. Then what you do is erase that entire line, so that you can only see where the darker parts start again. So the line goes really soft, liter, and then completely gone. (only a couple of cm, otherwise it gets confusing) then it becomes visible again, liter and then back to how it was in the beginin. Try it, i'l try to post som of my work that i'v done integration with.
You actually got me onto the idea of doin that same pic. (i hav it on color) I did, it cam out really good - so everybody tells me... I'll see if i can post it. Hope you understand, XxAmyxX |

I'm glad you went for that pic of Amy. It's just gorgeous! I got a poster from a magazine that had it, and two days later I had done the portrait. It's my fav. I don't think I'll do another one like that in a while. Thanks so much for the advice! I'll try to put it to practise... once I fully understand what you mean. I'm so blond sometimes... ![]() And Katya, thansk as well for the lesson. LOL! Someone should open a thread entittled: Evboard dictionary of Inet language. ![]() Bysee! |

Ok, sure. I put one of my drawings on my thread - "some of my stuff". (invisible-one) I'll put the other one on later sometime.
But, the drawing on there? Ok, I did integration at her face (at the top), her nose (which is one of the most difficult parts of the face to draw completely, so it's a good choice for this technique), her chin (only slightely), her hand with wraps around it (really blurry on the pic, so i just used integration which made it better...) and a bit on her dress. Then of course the frame i drew and her hair would also go as integration. (dark.) But, beware, until you'v "mastered" integration, dont really do it with dark colors, it can easily fail. I think you should get it when you enlarge the pic. You'll see, im sure. Glad to help you out. Post your next work so we can see, ok? XxAmyxX |

And THANKS! I checked your work and a lighbulb just lit over my head! I see what you mean now (for instance, the top line of her face, the contrast of the hair and how the limits of it are drawn to built the impression that there's a line there of her face's shape). Your drawing is really beautiful! It's a shame you had to take a pic instead of scanning it, it would favour the shadings and all so much more. The "work in proggress" one I have here came off slightly distorted. Amy's face look fatter than it actually is in the original... But I'll scan it as post it along with the new I have to make (full bod this time). Thanks all for the tips And thanks Katya for the glossary! It rules! |

Thanks. I hoped you'd like it. Took me quite a while to do. And, the scaning-thing, it's WAY too big in any case. I think it's about A2 size? 60x100cm i think...? so yeah, in real life it looks a lot better... Her face looks fat? happens sometimes. Finish shading first before you make any changes, see how it looks then. Your mind gets confused sometimes. Just try finishing first... Glad i could help. XxAmyxX |

The scanning wouldn't hav worked even if i tried unfortunately, the drawing is like A2 size (about 60x100cm i think) but i know it would've worked better that way...i'll post my next one as soon as i can. Don't worry too much about her face looking too fat now. First finish shading before you make any changes, it usually comes out right. (your mind has a way of configuring a drawing) if it still looks a bit weird, just go with your gut on changing it, don't look at the pic as much. Glad to have helped, XxAmyxX |
