I don't know about that. The Phoenix Suns have a phenomenal team this year. Their big man, Amare Stoudemire, returns for a full season, Shawn Marion is back to rebound all of the missed shots off the rim, and 2-time MVP Steve Nash is back to share the ball and get Coach Mike D'Antoni's vaunted run-and-gun system going for another year. They might also have a little more defense this year because Kurt Thomas is returning from injury and Amare is big enough to go inside and block shots. The Suns are the most exciting team the NBA has ever seen, and I don't see a lot of weaknesses in them this year. They have gotten to the Western Conference Finals each of the last two seasons, but they faded because they didn't have a lot of defense and Nash was worn down bcause he had to play most of the game. Well, this year he actually has a backup and the Suns have a lot more depth on the bench, which will take a lot of pressure off Nash, so they should and better be able to get over that large hump this time and into the NBA Finals, because they are the only professional sports team in Phoenix that is worth watching right now. The starving fans can't live through another disappointment, and that includes me.

The Mavs will go back to the finals and win it this year. They have experience now and that will work in their favor. Dirk Nowitzki is getting better every year, Josh Howard is still young and he has great hustle and he'll only get better, Devin Harris is young and quick and he will have more experience at the point.

This team is still very deep and versatile we brought in Austin Croshere to back up Dirk Nowitzki he's a solid back up and he's a big upgrade from Keith Van Horn anybody is a big upgrade from Keith Van Horn IMO boy i hated him. We brought in Greg Buckner to back up Jason Terry. Buckner is a good defender. We have brought in Devan George whose a good veteran he has finals experience with the Lakers yeah he had Shaq and Kobe to help him but he still knows what it's like to win a championship. We still have Jerry Stackhouse he's a good veteran player. We have DeSagana Diop and Erick Dampier that's a good center depth. Diop is a good shot blocker and defender that was evident in game 7 against the Spurs in the playoffs last year. We drafted Maurice Ager a good rookie from Michigan State. Ager was coached by Tom Izzo at Michigan State, Izzo is a tough minded defensive coach just like Avery Johnson so he fits into our system very well.

Hopefully, our owner Mark Cuban can shut his mouth up and not plan parades while the finals are going on. I'm so pissed off he did that! That just made Dwayne wade and the heat even more determined and made the city of Dallas look classless ! But that's a long shot to shut Cuban up. Maybe if he does shut up the refs might give us some respect next time and not favor Dwyane Wade. I don't care what anybody says the refs favored Dwayne Wade i'm not saying Wade didn't play great because he did and he deserved that MVP but that horrible call in game 5 of the finals still sticks in the minds of mavs fans to this day. But hey the Heat beat us fair and square IMO. But i'm just saying they had some few lucky calls. The Mavs still had a lot opportunities to win they made some crucial mistakes they blew that lead in game 3 Dirk Nowitzki missed some big free throws in that game. In game 5 despite the bad calls Josh Howard called that timeout when he didn't need too and if i'm not mistaken i think he missed some crucial free throws in that game too. I believe all that heart break will make them a better team and better prepared next time.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see the Heat again in the finals they still have everybody coming back. Yeah Shaq is getting old but that's the same thing everybody said last year and they still won the championship.

As for the rest of west, the suns do scare me a little if amare is healthy like he was two years ago then i'll be a little worried about them. The Spurs they're still good and they have good veteran leadership but i think they're getting too old and slow. The clippers are gonna be good again Elton Brand is a stud and they have good talented team with playoff experience so they will be a team to watch. So IMO the Suns and Clippers are teams the Mavs will battle with for the Western Conference and i believe they will prevail.

I always get Knicks tickets for my boyfriend for Christmas. This year he told me not to bother. He's so dissappointed, but hopefully we will be pleasantly surprised this season.

What does everybody think of the idea of the NBA going to a new basketball next season? Now, I have yet to get a glimpse of what the ball looks like and can't really understand the explanation of the material the ball is made out of, but I heard that Shaq tried the ball out himself and preceded to rip the ball company about it in an interview because he hated it so much. However, Shaq's complaint on the new ball is the only one that I've heard on this whole issue so far, so maybe some of you guys know enough about the issue to where you can post your own opinions and help me formulate my own idea.

I think that there was nothing bad with the basketball to begin with, unless they changed it so that Kobe Bryant doesn’t scores 81 points again. most of the players like Steve Nash say that it gets too sticky, and shaq just hates it. hey it might improve shaqs foul shots, maybe. they should just stick with the same ball, I never heard any complaints about it. here’s a pic of the new ball, and a link to an article.
