i have a question..how come its not ev anymore? is it because the original band members left or got fired or is it because amy is being a bitch? or is it because ppl are finding a diff band that they love more? what is it? i cant seem to find the reason. so many ppl are saying. oh, Ev. is no more! its all solo. amy is ev.

IMO....I don't think, this should really worry anyone......after all, the
band pretty much just finished a VERY long tour.
A new album at this point, is probably the furthest from any of their
minds right now.
Maybe think about this, with in the next year, year and a half.

You pretty much nailed it there. All the original band members have been fired or otherwise driven away. Amy is the only remaining original member of Evanescence, and the only one contractually bound to Evanescence. The rest are just the hired help, basically. So yes, essentially, Amy = Evanescence, which pretty much means she's a solo act with a hired group of stage players who have no legal ties to the name "Evanescence."

It's hard to say what will happen with Evanescence. Only Amy knows the answer to that question.

Remember it took them 3 years to come out with a followup to Fallen. Amy wants to focus on being a wife, so Evanescence is probably on the backburner.

i think that since she IS the original band member and that she made the band that she could choose to fire someone cuz it might not be good for the band

In alot of eyes. Amy lost alot of respect when she fired John. I think that was the turning point of ev was when John was fired and Rocky left.

Umm, any number of quotes by Amy Lee herself can vouch for what I just said, that she IS the only one left who is contractually bound to Evanescence. And looking at the people who most recently finished the TOD tour--Amy, Terry, Tim, and Will & Troy from Dark New Day--anyone with eyes, a brain, and a general awareness of the actual original members of the band can see that AMY'S THE ONLY ONE LEFT.

Hard to call something "just an opinion" when it can be backed up with commonly known and widely available facts.

But as we've already established that she is the only one legally & contractually in "the band," she's technically only doing it for herself.

To put it simply, the Evanescence that tons of people started out loving is long gone, and something much less brilliant has taken its place.

A very wise person once told me that if you can't remember what you were going to say, it probably wasn't very important to begin with.

Many serious fans of the band saw Evanescence for what it WAS (back in the day): a BAND. For most of us Evanescence wasn't just Amy, it was (David +) Ben + Will + John + Rocky + Amy, that's what made Evanescence. We loved those band members and the music was better with Ben and David as her writing/producing partners.

Terry and Amy are not a dream team when it comes to creating music. Tim is fairly new, but he hasn't been a part of what made that band the band we all loved. And the other two members are temporary replacements that have another band as their primary obligation. Since the band has become Amy, it's turned a majority of the fans off, because we were fans of Evanescence as a whole, not Amy as a solo artist.

IMO, the band was much better with the older members and she definitely hasn't made improvements on the writing/music portion since Ben's left. Terry doesn't balance her out like Ben did.

I totally agree. I think the orginal band, Evanescence, was terrific! They had so much going for them then....Origin was superb IMO, and I loved Fallen too. They had spark, they had something unique...something to listen for. But that all vanished when Ben left. Amy is good...but she's not a good songwriter. She is good at lyrics...but the arrangements and overall structure don't do it for me.
