Damn, I was expecting to open the thread and see some news about the new album. It really doesn't feel like we're getting an album anytime soon, and by soon I mean till 2010.

I wouldn't go as far as 2010, but in a couple of years.
Ev/Amy wouldn't announce anything at all, untill its closer to
the time of release of the album.
Everyone is so worried, but people are for getting that, they
just finished their tour on December 8th, and that was only
five months ago.
I wouldn't worry to much this premature after a tour finishing.

Why does everyone keep saying "THE" new album, like it's carved in stone that there's going to be one?! Did you not notice the question mark in the title of the thread, indicating that it's questionable as to whether there will be a new album? Beside all that--if "The Open Door" gives us any inkling of what Amy writes when left to her own devices, why would any of you WANT a new album?

TOD was bland and only semi-original, with lyrics that (IMHO) sucked balls for quarters compared to the lyrics of the Fallen and pre-Fallen era. To people who've only really become fans SINCE The Open Door, with all its blatant, obvious, in-your-face, I-fucking-hate-you-and-don't-care-who-knows-it lyrical stylings (*coughCMWYScough*), I suppose bullshit like that could be considered decent and even good, depending on how much crack you smoked before you listened to it the first time.

But those of us who fell in love (there is no other way to put it) with the Evanescence that USED to be...TOD is but the last act of a desperate woman, a death rattle, a feeble attempt to prove that she is just as capable of creating an excellent, every-track-sends-chills-up-your-spine album as Ben is. She is woman, hear her roar, etc. Well, the roar came off as kind of a dying whimper, and The Open Door, as a whole, sucked.

As I said a few posts ago (not that anyone's listening to me)...if a new album from Amynescence is going to include more of the same from TOD, I would rather just skip it and remember Evanescence the way they were...ya know, back when they were awesome.

Someone posting an opposing opinion of wishing for a new album or (omg, don't shoot me) THE new album *rofl* doesn't mean you aren't being listened to...it just means not everyone agrees.

I'm locking this thread for the moment as it's only going around in circles, there's no concrete information whether or not there is going to be a new album, and seems anyone who so much as makes an inkling they may have liked TOD or look forward to another possible album is just jumped on for it.
