What was the contest?

Thank you Amy's Army & all who post HERE for giving me the biggest laugh ever.

In sept/oct 07, they put together a contest to win a car stereo with evanescence library on it and some other stuff. To enter the contest, all you had to do was renew your membership.

the contest ended jan 08 I believe. No winner was announced like the other contests. last week I think someone came forward and said they were recently contacted by sparkart or whatever, that they needed their t-shirt size for a contest they had won.

Well that just shows how much out of the loop that I really am. Guess that's what I get for being the "old fart"!!

A greatest hits wouldn't be bad if one, it had the right combination of songs, and two, included a couple of new ones and three, maybe had one of the first ever recorded songs just for good measure. Most greatest hits albums though are someone else's idea of what was and was not a great song, so most of the time they still leave you wanting to get other CD's to "fill your void" in the hits column.

Kind of makes me wish that I would've had the money to travel to see them in person too, but my wife took ill last July, right after our last family vacation, so travel after that was out of the question.

So...wet my whistle...how are they onstage?

I don't won't evanescence to stop existing.
i love them more than any other band
and i can't relate myself to any other band.

Ev has been one of the greater parts of my life,
probably the greatest one.

And members keep leaving the band and soon
there won't be evanescence and Amy will be writing
music for movies and i can imagine myself going to
the movies each time Amy writes the movie's music.

This is soooo bad.
Evanescence is an amazing band
for me it's the best band in the entire world
and their lyrics (and music) have helped me
in difficult and painful situations.

Evanescence saved my life when i was about to
commit suicide cause i felt that i was all alone and nobody
loved me -which is true by the way!

Their music,their lyrics made me feel that i wasn't
alone.they still make me feel good!
As Amy has said,their music is a way to show people
that they're not alone in dealing with bad feelings.
that's true! their music works as a tourniquet for me.

IF EV IS OVER,how will i be able to survive???

Dude. Calm down. Breathe a little.

No one said that this was definite. There's going to be a break for a couple of years, but no one actually knows whether Ev will definitely continue or not. You can argue for both sides.

So please calm down. It's mostly just speculation at this point.

I agree with Katya!!!

I think people have gottin way ahead of themselfs here.
On the tour, Amy was the one who saved Ev, and kept the band alive
and very well!
She wouldn't have done that, if she didn't really care about the band.
She has worked her ass off for it, and I'm sure things will be just fine.
Untill anything is officially said right from Amy herself, then you will
know.
But they just finished a very long tour around four months ago, so they
are in a very well deserved break!!
I think people should stop stressing so much, over something that hasn't
even been mensioned!
So People relax!!!

I couldn't help but chuckle at old fart. I'm 33 and an ev fan. i'll always be a fan of the music and the band. I've seen them twice. stage show was awesome both times.
You can look online and see how some of the shows went. youtube has alot of ev concert videos on there.
sorry to hear about your wife. I hope that she is well now.
It seems to be habit for ev to come out with a cd every 3 years or so. So maybe there will be more music.
but for now, I think amy deserves her chance to be a wife and put ev to the wayside. Who knows, maybe she'll survive us.

I agree with Karen! Maybe Amy wants to have a personal life! This does not mean that she will stop to sing or write songs! I know some singers who stopped and they came back!

It differs almost every show. The guys are always pretty solid, I've never been disappointed by them. As for Amy, sometimes she's so amazing she'll blow your mind and take you away to a happier place and sometimes she just, really really sucks. Badly.

I just look at it this way. if and when a new album comes about. maybe a little touring then I can take my daughter to see them. She should be about 10 then.
