I know I for one royally screwed myself over by going into the 24 thread and reading a little too much. That was my fault though that I taped the episode and didn't watch it yet.

But yeah, I hope this rule catches, because I'm starting to get annoyed with people posting spoilers all over the damn place and giving no warning.

LOL I'm one of those people. I once entered the "Charmed" thread, wondering about the DVD release dates, only to find huge unmarked spoilers of the last few episodes everywhere. Imagine how that made me feel.

I like to read the movie threads, especially when the movie isn't out here yet (we're a little behind with both movies and tv shows here in Mexico). I just like to know what other people think of the movie, without finding out exactly what happens, ya know?

I think the spoiler rule is a great idea. *nods*

exactly, so a Review of the movie/episode is fine, but if you're going to put anything that could be a spoiler, black it out.

so from what I read in this thread, spoilers for movies that are like years old are fine, am I correct?

yes, its all NEW threads, or the movies that have yet to come out, Or new episodes...like this:

new season of girlmore girls, lost, grey's anatomy, 24 start... black out the new eps
we already have a spiders-man 3 thread...when that shows in theaters...black out what you see for the first little while...

I added a new [spoiler] tag that will black out text in both the original post and in subsequent quotes of that post. you can type [spoiler]your spolier stuff in here[/spoiler] or use the

button. Simply highlight the text with your mouse to read the spoiler text.

Example of original post:
I almost fell out of my chair when Darth Vader said, "Luke, I am your father!"

Example of quoted post:

Also, please put the spoiler tags around spoilerish discussion for new television episodes for one week after the original air date. Not everyone watches the episode on the air (DVR, tivo, vcr, etc.).

Really, it's the first and simplest tag thingy I came across and I take the path of least resistance (usually).
