New Rule for Spoilers - EvBoard

Hi all,
We are going to try out a new rule in this part of the forum...anyone who has seen the movie, or tv show in question, can you please BLACK OUT the spoilers before posting them. People who have not yet seen the movie or show, want to know what people's reactions are, to see if it is worth the watch, they dont always want to know what happens before they even tune in. So if we can please start to do this. It would be greatly appreciated.

And if anyone see's anything that hasnt been blacked out *from here on out* just let me know! And Ill try and keep on top of it!

I have a question..

what if we're talking about a season finale of a tv show, and it happened like, MONTHS ago, back in may or april or something. do we still have to black it out?

Months ago, no...but come the new season of gilmore girls if anyone spoil's anything for me...so help me...lol *joking*
This new rule is applied to all new threads, and new additions. Like when the new seasons of everything start again, and a new movie comes out.

What about people who live in different places, and may be a season behind? Hehe.

well, i'm a season behind on Lost bc i don't watch it on tv. I waited until the first season came out on dvd and than i got really in to the show, but by that time the 2nd season was well under way and i wasn't about to just start watching halfway through it. my solution? I stay away from the Lost thread!

Haha, I did the same thing with LOST...only I couldn't stay away from the second season on TV even though I missed the first half of it. I can't wait for the second season to come out on DVD, anyhow.

Anyway, as off-topic as that was... technically, everyone could stay away from certain threads if they didn't want to be spoiled by anything said. Hence making the whole "blackened text" thing moot. I don't think it's too difficult to make text black, and I sure don't mind carrying discussions even if I do have to highlight certain things. Hehe.

yeah, the black text is a great idea. just post a warning before hand, saying something like "Warning, potential spoilers!" or whatever.

But as far as the people in other countries who are a season or so behind, if you're *really* serious about not wanting to know what's coming, you might just have to stay out of the forum. Or atleast, don't read the posts to carefully.

I'm sure some sort of compromise can be reached, though.

I was the one who suggested the rule.

There are some people who do go into threads, whether or not they've seen the movie or show, hoping to see a review of it before they actually see it, and stumble across spoilers.

*shrugs* Thought this might help cut down on people who go into threads and see things they didn't want to see.
