Just because it's in some people's psychology. They continue doing stuff as long as the main mass doesn't know it, but it stops them when everyone around is familiar with the history of their actions.
I'm not implying that it's necessary, no, I'm pretty fine with the system as it is now.

I doubt it will go over well, but...

I still think that the neg rep should be reinstated for all members. That way people who disagree with a post would have a chance to let that person know that they didn't like the post without posting/flaming a reply that just gets one (or more) people riled up. And, being a community, having a number of neg reps could be used as a factor in the strike system as well.

It seems the people who abused neg rep are no longer with us. I am willing to reconsider, but the reason it was taken away was because of the abuse. It becomes a burden to the staff when we spend time removing out reputation calling someone a fag or something else stupid just because someone doesn't like another person. I'm more than willing to listen to everyones thoughts if they'd care to post them.

No system is perfect Chris, by the other side neg rep abuser deserves warning and reincidents harshest penalty EvBoard allows.

I think this is very fair, and a really great idea!!
Verble abuse happens to much everywhere, and if the mod team, and the administrators can help cut alot of this down, this is the perfect thing to have in place!!
I have always believed, that everyone should treat ppl, the same way they would want to be treated!!
People make mistakes in all kinds of different ways, its all apart of life, and learning!!
No one should ever bash another person, if they make a spelling mistake or something like that!
KCMO, you have a great idea, and I will definitely support and respect that!!

Neg rep was red dots, right?

I didn't like neg rep. I found that I was getting some neg reps from people who simply disagreed with my opinion on a certain subject. I imagine some people here had the same thing happen to them.

We could just report the post to a mod, and if the mod agrees, the member can give out neg rep to that person. If members are allowed to give out neg rep to whomever they please, many people will be getting it simply for voicing their opinions.

The ability to leave negative reps has already been reinstated for all members. So far, there hasn't been any problems with it. If someone abuses the system and leaves neg reps for no reason or simply for disagreeing with an opinion, then the person who receives it can speak to a mod about it and it will be dealt with.
