So, my friend says this:
The new zodiac signs for 2011:Capricorn: Jan. 20 – Feb. 16, Aquarius: Feb. 16 – March 11, Pisces: March 11- April 18, Aries: April 18- May 13, Taurus: May 13- June 21, Gemini: June 21- July 20, Cancer: July 20- Aug. 10, Leo: Aug. 10- Sept. 16, Virgo: Sept. 16- Oct. 30, Libra: Oct. 30- Nov. 23, Scorpio: Nov. 23- Nov. 29, Ophiuchus: Nov. ...29- Dec. 17, and Sagittarius: Dec. 17- Jan. 20.

Is this true?

I've read (oh stumble, you do find me such interesting articles sometimes..) that it's been true for some time, due to the natural shift of the cosmos, which means I never was a Taurus like I thought, and am in fact an Aries it would seem my whole life has been a lie

They are talking about Sidereal astrology which actually has 13 signs and has for some time. It's different from the more popular 12-sign system. No need to freak out! Also see this.

Yes, unless you suddenly wish to convert to the Sidereal dates that have always been everchanging.
