1. Has your welcoming committee member introduced you either by PM or introduce yourself post? No
2. Have you ever PM'd your welcoming committee member if you've had any concerns? How many times can you remember actually PMing about any questions to the committee? No 3. If you have, how often do you PM? N/A 4. What do you like about the committee? What do you dislike about the committee? Do you have an opinion at all? They're very positive! 5. Do you feel that more should be done in educating the newer posters (ie, you) on the board? If so, how? To tell you the truth, I'm not sure! ^^ |

No 2. Have you ever PM'd your welcoming committee member if you've had any concerns? How many times can you remember actually PMing about any questions to the committee? Yes, I have emailed her twice but I received no answer at all 3. If you have, how often do you PM? Since I'm here twice, but will not do that again, because I got no replies. Probably too busy or something *shrugs* 4. What do you like about the committee? What do you dislike about the committee? Do you have an opinion at all? The idea is great 5. Do you feel that more should be done in educating the newer posters (ie, you) on the board? If so, how? No, everything is pretty clear. Read the stickies and you'll be fine. When having specific questions you can PM a mod or more experienced boarder. Edit: My guide has just PM'd me, she was on holiday so that's the reason. She helped me a million and was very, very kind. Thank you! Last edited by welshwitch : 12-27-2004 at 02:37 PM. |

Sorry for the late response.
I think I've been here about 3 weeks so far. Sad thing is that the only two mods I recognize as having greeted me so far are E-Unit and BuffyFan who gave me the "read this" material.
I've had no problems so far with anybody here (at least that I know of.) Everybody so far has been nice. To introduce myself to the crew running this board. As noted in my introduction I've been a bodyguard in the entertainment business for 14 years now (spent 2 years in semi-retirement.) I've just been asked to do security for a newly signed Sacramento band so I may disappear from time to time. I'm not going to do any name dropping but I do have friends in the business. I am also training for a demonstration at the 2005 MACS (Martial Arts Collective Society) Gathering in Las Vegas Nevada. Much of my time is taken up by training. I am a moderator on another Message Board (name witheld out of respect.) so I won't get that much time here. I know there is a problem with noobs who don't look first before the post up new topics. I tend to be a bit scattergunned in my topics meaning that I tend to hit several subjects rather than just one. That has left me a bit confused as to whether or not or where to put up a new topic. Rather than piss anyone off I stick to just answering already posted material. I will try to treat all with respect and I hope to get the same in turn. On reputation I don't feel I've distinguished myself enough to give out good or bad reactions to people. I hope nobody has taken offense to me not yet giving out reputation. I've gotten some which was a surprise. I figure I'll read the reputation rules a few hundred times then maybe I'll understand it. Best wishes and Happy New Year to all. Feedback...
Was greeted, gotten 2 PMs...
No questions, so I have not PMed my Welcome Guide yet. --- This board is good, and I like the idea about a welcome guide, as it also works to connect people. Now.. as for feedback... I find it quite funny that most of my welcome-messages in my introduction thread seems to be asking me to read the FAQ. How many times do I have to read it? As in any forum, commone sense gets you a long way. |

![]() You'd be surprised at how many people STILL don't read the FAQ's after we remind them so often.

Yeah; Dora's right. The FAQ is long, yes....but it is divided into sections for your benefit
The entire FAQ was revamped awhile ago, and it's so much more informative now...Let's just say this: The people who complain about the mods, get locked threads, and get banned are usually the people who never bothered to read the FAQ. You only have to read it once, I promise I'd just like to add my two cents to this thread... I'm a Welcoming Committee member, and I'd love it if people would post in this thread more. Or just PM us guides with feedback. Some of us are newer at this guiding thing, and we'd like to know how we're doing ![]() |

Also being a Welcoming Committee Member, I know I'd appreciate it if more n00bs posted here. I would love it, and I'm sure my other Committee members would as well, if we got lots of feedback. We've just reworked the WC, and hopefully you'll find it's been improved. We've made a few changes, talked amongst ourselves, etc. We'd be thrilled to know how you n00bs, the ones most affected by the new processes, are feeling about it.
