[font="Arial Narrow"]1. Has your welcoming committee member introduced you either by PM or introduce yourself post? yes, both
2. Have you ever PM'd your welcoming committee member if you've had any concerns? How many times can you remember actually PMing about any questions to the committee? Umm I think I PMed once with a question 3. If you have, how often do you PM? Not much, but I've only been on here for a few days. 4. What do you like about the committee? What do you dislike about the committee? Do you have an opinion at all? I like it, and I think it's a good idea. It made me feel welcomed and made me feel like I have someone that I can talk to, even though I dont know anyone 5. Do you feel that more should be done in educating the newer posters (ie, you) on the board? If so, how? I dont think anything else can be done...if people read the FAQs, then they're all set. The intimidating thing is randomly jumping into threads and trying to post. ~heather~[FONT] |

1. Has your welcoming committee member introduced you either by PM or introduce yourself post? Yup! And it was a very nice thing to receive when i joined
2. Have you ever PM'd your welcoming committee member if you've had any concerns? How many times can you remember actually PMing about any questions to the committee? I PMed a member just to ask how many posts ya need until you're off the moderating queue. But i's happy with the reply, as i's jus curious. 3. If you have, how often do you PM? Um, jus twice so far. 4. What do you like about the committee? What do you dislike about the committee? Do you have an opinion at all? I don't hav huge opinion, jus that the Committee is doing a very good job with the Ev board. 5. Do you feel that more should be done in educating the newer posters (ie, you) on the board? If so, how? Em, not really. As this is a free-opinion forum, but where evryone has one thing for defo in common, Evanescence, i think the educating should be up to repliers and postees. |

Hi,
Thought as a noob I'd better let you know I think there's a lot of really helpful stuff (eg FAQs etc) which let you know the rules and guidelines. Yep, my welcome comittee guide has contacted me ant given me some great advice and pointed me in the direction of some really useful stuff. What I'm about to say is not schmoozy b***shit, truly it's great that there is valuable advice and points of contact here, makes joining the board a darn sight less intimidating. Thanks |

I have to agree with templar exile and say that there really is a lot of helpful things on this site, and my initial thoughts are that it seems a very friendly place. I have been welcomed by my welcome committee member who was very helpful and friendly, but i haven't really used the PM system yet. I like the idea of a welcome committee, it makes the site look a lot more professional. However i haven't been around here long enough to find anything that I dislike about the welcome committee.
I'll post again if my opinion changes on anything. |

Well... I've never been PMed by a welcoming committee, but I have been welcomed on my thread xD But it's quite alright, because I'm used to these types of forums. I think the only thing that confused me when I joined was my absence of a signature, but I reread the FAQ and found my question answered.
I do think a welcoming committee is a good idea, not only for the help and guidance through the technical part of the forum, but also to help us n00bs get acquainted with the users here. It's not a lot of fun if you don't know anyone on a forum, after all xD So... I think you guys should keep up the good work! *Applauds* |

I agree! Good job! I really like all the FAQ's.......very helpful, and nice to see the rules written out. I come from a forum where all the rules are not written and you either figure them out, or your post just gets deleted. No fun. The welcome committee is nice too! I like it that they tell you a little about the board and all.

Really had no problems. Said hi to williows and about 5+ senior members replied with all kinds of rules and posts to check. So, everything is laid out in stone.
You really don't need to change much, just make sure newbies post a Hi thread from the day they start. |

1. Has your welcoming committee member introduced you either by PM or introduce yourself post? Yeah, buffyfan has been very attentive.
2. Have you ever PM'd your welcoming committee member if you've had any concerns? How many times can you remember actually PMing about any questions to the committee? I've never PM'd her with questions, I read all the threads and stuff... I just PM'd her to say thanks. 3. If you have, how often do you PM? Er... once. 4. What do you like about the committee? What do you dislike about the committee? Do you have an opinion at all? The committee is a very nice thing, it helps us n00bs get used to the way things work here at EvBoard, and I think you people are doing a great job, keep it up! 5. Do you feel that more should be done in educating the newer posters (ie, you) on the board? If so, how? Well, so far, I'm pretty happy. you're doing a great job as it is, I don't see any thing wrong. Keep up the good work! Uriel Coleridge |
