Anyway, so my sister; Anastasia AKA Stacy. Was kidnapped when she was 13 months old. Her father is a different father, she is actually my step moms daughter. But I consider her as good as my sister, and Joan (My step mom) my mother, she is the woman in my life, the one who raised me. I know its sad saying that. But who cares? Its the truth.

Anyway, so Stacy was found in Athens, Greece in 1997. When she was 14 yrs old, so Joan booked a flight out to see her and try to fight to get her back. She wasnt able to bring her back. And she had a meeting with her. She gave her a few prize possessions to have Stacy remember her. Stacy's father, Chris, took them away from her after Joan left the country. So she never saw them again.

Now its been 12 yrs since then, she is now 27 and has been missing for 26 years.

2 months ago she had a son. I forget the name, its very very Greek, I would have to get the emails from Joan to be able to tell you the name. But he looks like my little brother. Freakishly so much. Granted he is 2 months old, but still. So now she realized the bond between a mother and her child. And she wanted to get in touch with Joan after this. She wanted to meet and talk with her real mother. She loved the woman who raised her as well, which was a very nice lady (apparently). Stacy couldnt sleep at night, she would lie awake all the time thinking about her, so she got on the computer and did some investigating. Her best friend michelle told her about the man who wrote the song for Anastasia.

She looked up Yves email and emailed him asking if he was still in contact with Joan and was it possible to get ahold of her. And that she was Anastasia. So Yves wrote back saying he would love to get ahold of Joan for her, but he has to be on the safe side and just double check if she is who she says she is. So he said he would like her to send a current picture, and answer some questions that only Stacy would know.

Anastasia responded saying she understood and thought he would ask this. So she sent a picture, and she answered the question. She was asked "What did your mother give you last time she saw you?" And Stacy said "She gave me this little silver ring with hearts all around it, a tape with the song 'message to anastasia', a blue bear and a photo album with her two brothers on the front cover" Then she said that she wasnt 100% sure because she had only seen it once, she didnt keep it after that. Her father had taken it all away after. She also said that since then she thought about Joan everyday, and wondered about her, and always wanted to get in contact again.

Once Anastasia was confirmed to be who she said she was, Yves gave her Joan's email. And Stacy emailed Joan. It was most certainly life changing, then today they talked on the phone for 2.5 hours. Then my dad got on the phone and talked, I wish I could have. But I was at work, I had this feeling that I should be leaving work and going to my dads housse to have this opportunity. But I suppose enough is enough for one night.

How I feel is.... I dont know how to describe it. My sister was missing for 26 yrs, she didnt know I existed. We didnt know if she was alive, we didnt know where she was, we didnt know anything. And now, we know. And I'm an aunt, and I have a beautiful 27 year old sister.

I dont think anything can happen that would make me happier and more complete then I am. I cried so much, SO MUCH at work. I couldnt believe it, everyone was so supportive, giving me hugs, and saying congrats.

My boss was arranging a time for me to fly out and see her, finding the ticket, and deciding how long I would go for. Now, THAT is a supportive boss. And he let me leave early cuz I couldnt containt myself.

I had never cried so much for being overwhelmingly happy. Thank you guys! I hope I can talk to her soon. I really do. I wouldnt know what to say, but... she knows I exist now! She knows she has a little sister


@Em; I may have to cancel the trip to KY.... I know it sucks, but if the money I have set aside gives me the opportunity to meet my sister, I want to take it. I hope you understand. I can still try to save up for your trip. But the majority of that money would be taken up for Stacy.
