Flow
I feel that Origin has better flow as a whole album, meaning that the songs (though fantastically different) go together better than the songs on Fallen. I know, EV claims that it isn't really an album but i would beg to differ. I love the raw force that origin projects in it's songs. The way that they have those fantastic insturmental songs (Origin and Eternal) and the duets with David Hodges (pure magic!). My Favorites from Origin are 'Where Will You Go' (the distant piano intro is hella great@_@ plus I love the lyrics {see my Signature}) and 'Away From Me' (with the Uber cool bass-synthy intro and the amazing vocal variations that take on a sort of etherial choir feel. I Also Love how the lyrics behind the song are sentimental, yet dark, statements of a wasted life {thats what I got from it, idunno, maybe i'm weird}). Overall, Origin is a beautifully produced and performed album(though the drums sound totally fake).
P.S. If I had to choose, I would pick Origin + Whisper, Holding My Last Breath, Imaginary & Haunted burned onto a mix-CD (A.K.A.: I Love aspects from both albums for different reasons) P.P.S. No other album in this world has sent chills down my spine like Origin. Don't listen to it in a dark room or while taking a midnight stroll in the park ;-) |

I personally prefer Origin. I found Fallen a little repetitive in the middle. I do love Fallen, I just think Origin had slightly more depth in its material.

First Kiss is like Origin
To many of us, Origin was our first exposure to Ev. Like a first kiss, you never seem to forget it or the butterflies that it leaves. Fallen was anticipated and well worth the wait. The next CD can't come fast enough. John (dj101) said that Amy and the band are planning to take at least a year to work on it. Origin is my favorite to date.

Okay, Origin is great, I agree, but I still like Fallen. It shows how much the band has grown and what direction they're turning in. Songs like Going Under, BMTL, Haunted, and Tourniquet are an amazing example of what they'll be like in the future.
Like I said, I love Origin, especially the intro/outro instrumentals. (I have a thing for instrumentals) but the Origin versions of the songs Whisper and My Immortal just feel incomplete, and I'm not a huge fan of the other songs like Anywhere. The CD seems to be slower, heavy only during songs like Lies and Even in Death. But, for something recorded on "an eight track recorder" as Amy put it, produced by amatures, and distributed by a small local record label it's an excellent album. When it comes down to it, they both have high and low points, but Fallen in my opinion is still a greater album in the sense of the songs just feeling more complete, epic, and amazing. The flow of the CD feels like a movie with high and low points and a perfect sound. |

i loooove both albums...Origin's really special since it's their first project and it sounds very raw and emotional....however, Fallen also sounds amazing. so i really couldn't decide one over the other.
