Original song lyrics, poems, and other shinies
First up is one of my more popular songs. I've been trying for the past few months to find someone to sing it, but no luck... So far.
"This Road" This road I travel is dark and long With many twists and turns. And even though I may act strong, With every step, my soul burns. Turn the corner, turn the page, I see you standing tall. A new act begins on lifes grand stage, Will you catch me if I fall? (Chorus) This road twists, a turn of fate, Come with me, it's not too late. Travel this dark road of your soul, Together, we will face the cold. Time has passed, you have gone, I travel alone, you have moved on. I carry with me a memory, I follow the road to eternity. A new traveler passes me by, I slow and I watch her sit and cry. I take a seat next to her, What memories haunt this traveler? (Chorus) This road twists, a turn of fate, Come with me, it's not too late. Travel this dark road of your soul, Together, we will face the cold. I lift my hand to comfort her, She shakes her head and sighs. She raises her face, begins to stir, She glances at me with tear-stained eyes. No words are spoken, her gaze says it all. She has grown tired of the pain. As she slowly rises, stands so tall, Her voice echoes through the rain. (Chorus) This road twists, a turn of fate, Come with me, it's not too late. Travel this dark road of your soul, Together, we will face the cold. A simple question, seven small words, Spoken by this traveler. The road of life has eroded her soul, She feels trapped in this bottomless hole. Her voice rings out, repeats the plea, A desperate cry of misery: "Will you catch me if I fall?" Her voice seems so meek, so small. (Chorus) This road twists, a turn of fate, Come with me, it's not too late. Travel this dark road of your soul, Together, we will face the cold. I lift my hand to her dark eyes, Slowly brush away the tears. She leans into my touch and sighs, I have put to rest her fears. We now travel the road together, And although my burden is strong, I will never abandon her, Heads raised, we walk on. (Chorus) This road twists, a turn of fate, Come with me, it's not too late. Travel this dark road of your soul, Together, we will face the cold. |

Thanks! And no, I don't have the music yet. I'm off work tomorrow, I might try to throw something together.
Anyway, to keep this post from becoming spam, here's another poem! This is my most recent one. "Winds of Change" They said it would never work, they said we would never last, we were too young, they said, too dumb, moving much too fast. But all that's over now, and I guess we proved them wrong. through all of life's ups and downs we're still going strong. (Chorus) The winds of change will blow. Let them blow. The river of time will flow. Well, let it flow. I'll be sailing through life with you, until the end. This boat is built for two, my love, my friend. Spread your sail, we're still not through. Through heaven and hell, I'll still have you. As we make our way through life's deep blue, not to worry, you'll have me too. (Chorus) Through the currents, around the bends, I pray to God this never ends. (Chorus) ...And just because I'm in a good mood, here's yet another poem! ![]() "Loose Ends" We are all connected by the winding strings of fate. Some seem made of iron, while others are destined to break. Love lost, rejected, you stagger on through life, but the strings that bind us closely resist the strongest knife. Time marches on now, and new bonds, in time, are formed. Our past is all but lost, our thread, tattered and torn. Brought together by happenstance, torn apart by circumstance, reunited by pure chance, fate pulls our strings, and we dance. Our thread will be repaired, like a tailor making his mends. But which is it, fate or God, tying up the loose ends? |
