Paint Shop Pro 9 / Photoshop

So...at the suggestion of a friend (who makes really badass signatures, avatars, wallpapers, etc.), I downloaded Paint Shop Pro 9 last night. I've been playing with it for hours now, and for the life of me I can't figure out how to do anything with it--at least not anything like the amazing artwork I've seen from countless other people.

With all the different menus and tools, you'd think I'd be able to do SOMETHING...but so far, what I've managed is...opening a picture and scribbling on it. Oy.

So this is me admitting my n00bishness and desperately pleading for help...I have no clue what I'm doing here. Anyone who's even mildly well-versed in PSP 9, I could really use some assistance. Thanks in advance!

I join Julieann in requesting how to use this thing! I have it (somewhere it's disapeared though) and I have had a look once and I have no idea. I had though it'd be like that old paint program but it's way different. I don't even know how to make a picture smaller or bigger, shows how much I know!

Hey, there are some paintshop tutorial sites. I lost my favourites last night, trying to get them back. If I can find the link I will post it here! Photoshop is cool too.

I uninstalled Paint Shop last night and opted to download Photoshop CS3 Extended instead...and after playing around with it a bit, I've discovered that Photoshop is much easier to use, at least for me, than PSP9 is. I'm still having issues with combining files to make signatures and stuff...looks like I'll have to spend lots of time looking at tutorials, lol.

Too bad there's not a tutorial that deals specifically with making signatures and avatars and banners.

mine aren't that great but making signatures are pretty easy. just depends on how creative you are. you just start from the allowable size of signature and go from there.

here are some tutorials on youtube.
