I'm still in shock. It just doesn't seem right that Eddie is gone. I tried to get through some of the videos they have of him but i stopped. I think it was the first one i watched that had Broken in it. It kinda brought tears to my eyes. I guess we are so used to the 'old' wrestlers dying... not ones that are around wrestling today. Eddie will be missed.

Truly awful news, was shocked when i heard about it. He was a great wrestler and entertainer who will definitely be missed. Another wrestler gone too soon.

He shouldn't have died like that (not that I'm saying he should have died at all) but while he's still a great wrestler..that just makes it even worse.
Why do all great people die young? Yeh, RIP Eddie. |

I hope that this will open Vince eyes as to what is going on with his company.

His death didn't come from a jobber attacking him or something. Unless you mean the pain factor, but that comes with the territory. Last edited by Oscy Woscy : 11-14-2005 at 08:50 PM. |

Vince never did anything when Owen died in the middle of a show. You expect him to do something now? He's gonna continue with business has usual. There's a bunch of guys wanting to take the spot that Eddie left. It sucks but that's how the wrestling business is. It's one of the dirtiest business.

...holy shit.
I haven't been watching a lot lately, but I check this thread a lot for info. And...wow. That really hits home, because that's how my dad was found a little over a month ago. My God. His wife, his daughters. That...that's just freakin' insane. Shock is me. I hope he rests well. RIP, Eddie.

I've been watching wrestling for 18 years now. It's something that I've enjoyed ever since watching it with my great-grandfather.
Tonight reaffirmed why I watch it every week. For those of you who are curious about this thread and wonder what keeps us watching, you should have seen tonight's Raw. You have to understand that what some of these athlete performers go through is more than just a physical toll...and often times the physical toll is heavy (for example, Terry Funk basically has no knees now after 25+ years of wrestling). This also takes a toll on their personal lives, too. Often times, these guys have to do 200 or more shows a year just to put food on their own and/or their family's table. Often times, they are seperated by their family and sometimes personal problems develop because of that whether that's depression, divorce, or any other problem like that (which is why Chris Benoit and Dave Batista's tributes were the ones I found most poignant). They, like other touring performers (musicians and other athletes), are willing to put those issues aside to perform in front of however many people there are at a particular venue on a particular day just to make us laugh, cry, cheer, boo, or just find a way to escape for a couple of hours. And that, more than anything, is the reason that I am mourning the loss of Eddie Guerrero. He will be missed dearly. My favorite memories watching all of the clips both on the show and online would probably be the night that he won the championship and jumped into the crowd and then joining Benoit when he won the title at Wrestlemania XX. |
