They had no choice but to release Angle. If they didn't, he would have been the next one dead. He just doesn't stop. Broken neck, torn groin, going through a divorce, doesn't matter.

WWE is not dead, just Vince has to take a step back and re-evaluate the product. They have the talent. TNA is more like WCW in it's final days. Sting, Jarret, Steiner, then a few young guys to try and make them legit.

The "product" for both sides needs the competition. It's the only way things will get better.

Damn. As much as I hate to see Kirk Angel go, it's probably for the best. He was killing himself out there, and refused to take time off to deal with the wear and tear.

I hope he's alright.

Anyway, I've been enjoying parts of the new ECW. CM Punk's debut was great. Kevin Thorn and Ariel are entertaining. Evil Paul is fun. And hey, Sabu is getting high profile matches on national TV. That's a big plus in my book.

I've been quite the Edge fan, but haven't watched much Raw because I really can't stand Cena.

TNA has been really good about 75% of the time for the past several months, too. Joe is the future of wrestling.

amen... ecw and tna are what's keeping wrestling alive right now... it's sad that even a real watered down wwe-esque ecw is better than the actual wwe product right now and i do agree with the tna assessment... tna as a company actually wanted to push it's newer talent but spike tv wanted established stars to stay in the spotlight which is why we have the wcw-esque tna right now and not the tna of old circa the weekly ppvs...

I'll agree with some of the above as well. While it's not the ECW of old, most of the show acctually has, heaven forbid, wrestling matches. So it's been a nice change of pace. It's a shame Raw or Smackdown couldn't use their time and have some of the matches ECW put on. There has been a few matches on ECW that were very surprising. Flair against Big Show for the ECW title a few weeks back comes to mind.

The only thing keeping me watching TNA right now is the X-Division. Thankfully they seem to get at least one match a show. And out of an hour, that's not bad. On the other side, it's a shame it's Jarrett and Sting at the top instead of people like Christian and Samoa Joe. I wouldn't even mind Rhyno at the top again, even though I'm not a huge fan of his. Jarrett may be TNA's Triple H, but he is no Triple H. I just can't buy him as carrying a company. Although, it is nice to see TNA at least try to have a tag team division, as it seems WWE seems not to care most of the time about both of theirs.

I'm curious to see if/when SpikeTV gives TNA an extra hour, how much, if any, the product changes. I was really hoping they would give them the 8-10pm Monday night slot to give Raw they kick it needs.

Lets clear this up right now.

Kurt quit for reasons that were NOT meant to be public. Leave it to the WWE to plug the reasons.

Kurt had been talking about this for months. Why do yall think his on air time was cut? I dont miss much when it comes to the WWE.
Kurts marriage was falling apart.
He has a daughter he hasnt had ANY time with. (She was born last year if im not mistaken)
He was ready to stop for a while. all there is to it. Nobody, exeocted him to quit though.

TONS of fans and even WWE Stars and Employees already miss him. The door was left for him to return at anytime.

on another note.
John Anthony Cena for the win!
Edge is lame. overly lame.

ECW needs to step its game up. Vince is holding back. Currently i dont bother with ECW. SMackdown...i dont care for Michael COle or JBL thus i cant stomach hearing them speak.
SD!'s roster has talent though.

RAW = WIN

JBL commentates now? Bring back Bradshaw...and FAAROOQ, FAAROOQ, FAAROOQ IS ON FI-YAH!

And wow, is Vanilla Cena and Chris Jericedge still the only title guys there? Long feuds are great, but not with those two.

Agreed. I myself have had enough of Edge/Cena. I don't mind Edge. Not so keen on Edge and Lita, but Edge I can stand. I'm really tired of Cena. But, when you look at it logically, there is only a handful of people they have right now that can really main event. The aformentioned Edge and Cena, Triple H, Michaels and Orton. To a lesser extent, Kane and it looks as if eventually, Umaga. Flair and Foley may have a random chance here and their, but I doubt they will main event again.

With Triple H and Michaels tied up in DX against the McMahons, which I wish would have ended at Summerslam, you're down to truely three. And since you have a "bad guy" Champion, you're down to one. That being Cena. Even though half the crowd always seems to hate him.

Smackdown is just as bad. You have King Booker, Batista and Mysterio as your choices. In addtion, Benoit and Henry when they return. 'Taker looks to be done with that spotlight, and JBL is done all together. Kennedy and Lashley maybe someday, but not yet. Even though I do like Kennedy. I was kinda tired of Mysterio, but King Booker, two months and I've had enough. I find Batista kinda boring msyelf, but not much you can do about that. Kids seem to love him.

ECW, though different, has become my favorite brand. New people, new fueds, a few hardcore matches tossed in. It needs some work, but overall, seems to be a fresher product than the other two.

TNA... well, TNA needs to stop letting Jarrett and SpikeTV run the show. Do what you did that got you here. Don't try to compete with WWE, just do what you know is best. They seem to get so close at times, just back off to try and bring in "star power". They are even talking to Goldberg. Ugh.

I'm really starting to miss people like The Rock and Steve Austin. I said years ago I had enough of them, but now, it makes me miss those days. Days when you had eight of nine people who could main event. A time when there wasn't a brand split. A time when wrestling had competition. Ah, wrestling of the late 90's. How I miss the.

My two cents. Well, probably closer to a dime, but whatever.

They should just end the split, it's bad for business. Vince has cut off the excess from WCW (and replaced it with his own crap), they need to rejoin the brands. They needed to a year ago.

Bad enough having two WCW wannabe shows.

Oh thank you for clearing that up!

The issues had to be addressed. Kurt is too big a star to disappear with no explanation.

Beyond that, Meltzer's reporting that he was fired because he refused to get help for his problems while he could still wrestle. It wouldn't shock me. The guy has been killing himself for years without taking care of himself. And all the HGH makes his head look like it's going to explode.

Vince doesn't want the negative attention of another Eddie on his hands.

I really LOVE JBL on color. It's been a long time since there was a good heel commentator and he does it amazingly well. And the great thing is he's an ass and he makes you hate him without ever tearing town the ability of the guys in the ring. He always makes them come off as huge while still keeping it clear that he loves the heels and hates the faces. I never thought Bradshaw would go as far as he did... but the man's got more skills than I ever gave him credit for.

Unfortunately by Friday I'm usually either burned out on wrestling for the week or have something else to do, and that's a shame because Booker, Regal, Finlay and Rey are all awesome. And I was looking forward to a good tag feud between London/Spanky and the new Pitbulls until Kash got sent hom.

I think Lita has really given him something extra (and no, I don't just mean herpes). Her presence helps him come off as a smarmy ass even more than he normally does.

Last I heard Jarrett was off the booking committee. He's not out of the scene, though, because he really is the face of TNA. I was never a huge fan, but the guy is a great Southern heel. Just remember, this will eventually lead up to joe taking the belt off either Jarrett or Sting. It has to. And that will be a momentous occasion.
