She is a classic valet that helps her corner in cheating. I know why they do it, but I guess I'm just wanting Edge to become a real opponent for somebody like Triple H, and he really can't do that until Lita is out of the picture. In my mind anyway.

I agree, some-what. First off, Jarrett is TNA's Triple H. While his Dad is gone and there is an official booking committee, he still holds political power. D'Amore is on the committee I think. And he and Jarrett has always been tight, and probably still are. And Jarrett has been known to get things changed in his favor. Same thing with Sting since he is such a big name for them. And I really don't like Jarrett, so I may be a bit bias. But I just don't like his promo/interview style. Just something about the way he delivers his lines. Eh.

But, yes, it will be a big moment when Joe takes the title from Sting, Jarrett or whoever. Same way it was when Christian beat Jarrett at AAO. I just hope that TNA's heavyweight division get what is needs, because right now, it just, to me, seems like it's missing something. I'm not sure what, but I find myself more interested in the X and Tag division feuds more than I care about the heavyweight. But, hey, one can hope.

I still think that if both companies compete on the same night, with one overlapping hour, it only helps both shows. I am not giving up on this until it happens. It can, no, must happen! Right!?

Yeah, the difference is that Eddie garnered sympathy because he had been clean. Kurt's still on painkillers and "performance enhancers" and everyone knows it. I don't like the constant "This is for you, Eddie" and I hate the crowd not figuring out that not all hispanic wrestlers are named "EDDIE EDDIE."

I'm not saying the guy's not a jerk and completely out of touch with reality. He's pretty despicable overall. Oh, and Bob Jr. has Hepatitis and I'm pretty sure it was Johnny Ace who made the call not to disclose that being in a ring with Otrton was potentially deadly.

Yeah, he is. That's also why we have such useless lumps of flesh like A1 on TV. D'Amore trained him.

I agree, but Rhyno is being moved back up the card, they've done an amazing slow rise for Joe and it looks like they're grooming Bobby Roode for a top spot (which I think he'll do well in). They've got Christian who is established, but not old and everywhere. The only weak link in the non-WCW castoffs is Monty Brown, and he could be good. He's got the charisma.

I can agree with you here. One of the best feuds they've had in a while is the Phenomenal Angel vs. LAX. It makes me look forward to watching. And I think I like pretty much everyone in the X-Division except Sabin and Bentley. Especially Bentley.

Oh, and let me jump back a bit...

I won't argue that, but I think that both of them have really started looking ahead and looking at what is good for business instead of OMG GOTTA BE ON TOP! Look at Jarrett's match with Lethal a few weeks ago. And Hunter's gotten a lot better about putting people over the last few years too. As much as I hate Cena, it was HHH that helped bump him up to contender level.

I like wrestling.

Well, I don't know. Even Hunter is guilty of putting himself on top while still making some lesser stars look good.. Jarrett's match with Lethal is nothing that hasn't been done before. Triple H had a great match with Taka Michinoku on an older Raw. To the point where the crowd, and myself, felt like Taka could acctually win. Much like Jarrett's match with Lethal. Triple H has done similar things with Jeff Hardy, Tajiri, The Hurricane and probably a couple others. Techincally he did with with Jericho where Jericho won, but Hebner was forced to reverse his decision. So the title reign never happened. And while it is nice to see as a wrestling fan, it really didn't help any of their careers in the long run. Cena was made on Smackdown. The crowd liked him, and it was him against JBL that brought him to that level. Cena's feud with Triple H tried to legitimize him as a Raw level star, instead of just a Smackdown guy, but I think it took Cena to the point where he needs a feud that does not revolve around the World Title. He can probably get some of the crowd back if he is out of the picture for a couple months.

I think it was pain killers. Not 'roids. Or so I've read. But it would be a tough argument. I'm sure he'll get his mass back, but man, was it noticable. Even more so with his entrance video playing right behind him with his previous look.

So, do you guys have any thoughts on Trish's retirement? Or did I miss that discussion?

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought "where did the rest of Chris Masters go?" ... and you know what, it actually showed in the ring. He didn't look like complete garbage. He actually sold.

As for the Edge & Lita thing, I think just being with her has gotten him completely over. Before he got with Lita, Edge could wrestle a great match and still never got over (everyone knew Christian was the charisma of Edge & Christian, anyway). When they put him against the superface Matt Hardy and paired him with Lita, he started getting legit heat and his promos have kept getting better.

I really think they need to do away with the roster split for Raw and Smackdown. Smackdown is painful to watch. The King Booker gimmick has gone on 6 weeks too long, and some of their main week to week acts are muclebound guys who sell poorly, guys who are in the twilight of their career like Tatanka, Finley, Regal, a guy in a dress, and a 7 foot guy who sells worse than Giant Gonzales. Big Show sells better than Khali, seriously. LOL There are a few guys like Mr. Kennedy who at least bring some redeeming quality, but overall it is fairly poor TV. Finley still puts on a pretty good match, though. It is kind of sad that Mark Henry carried Smackdown for months.

I was glad to see Carlito finally getting pushed up the card a bit on Raw with his coming feud with Orton. He has impressed me. I still don't understand why Raw is running Duggan out there every week, when they could give that time to someone else. I really think Raw should focus on the women's divison more. Lita and Mickie was a bit rough in spots, but it was also really good in spots. The DX-McMahon thing is getting kind of old, but it still has some legs to it seeing how over DX is.

I saw someone on the internet say Cena does his best work when he's in the title hunt and not champion, which I think is true. As a champ he is kind of stale, but when he's in the hunt you almost want to root for him.

ECW could be good. I actually like Kevin Thorn, and CM Punk looks alright. Test is still Test. Holly was a nice addition because he always works a stiff match anyway. Sabu and Big Show is a nightmare as a feud, although Big Show is trying, Sabu is just a bit wild for him at times and some spots look really bad. The thing last week with the table and the ring bell was nicely done.

I've liked what TNA has done. The fire Eric Young thing is kind of meh, but overall they've had some good stuff going down. I dig the Christian heel turn.

I'm just glad this thread is going again.

...oh, and as for the Trish retirement, I'll miss Trish. I always liked her.

As far as Trish leaving, all is not bad in my mind. From what I remember, they have a decent amount of girsl they can call up. And when Beth Phoenix returns, you can add her to the list. With Beth, Mickie and Victoria, they make up your core division. All three can go. Jillian Hall should be moved over as she can go as well. You then add in the secondary divas, like Candice, Maria and Torrie who are involved in matches, but never truely wrestle, and the divison doesn't seem so bad. When they got rid of the acctual divas who could wrestle a year or two back, it hurt it more. Jazz, Molly and Gail Kim would be nice to still have around, but what can you do.

And honestly, you know every time they come near or to Toronto, Trish will make an appearance, much like The Rock used to do.

So yeah, Cena won the title again and beat Edge in front of a very pro-Edge/anti-Cena crowd at the ppv... Poor Edge, he looked heartbroken all through his match so it was a dead giveaway that he'd lose... Oh well, here's to ALMOST having Cena finally off of my tv on Monday night wrestling...

Trish retained with one of the worst sharpshooters I've ever seen but eh, I guess she deserved it (never been a Trish fan but I gotta give credit where credit is due)...

And all I gotta say is Shane McMahon = hardcore!
