Here are games i recommend for genres:

Strategy/Tactics: La Pucelle Tactics, Disgaea, Phantom Brave
Strategy/Espionage: Psi-Ops, Metal Gear Solid
RPG: Wild Arms 3, Suikoden 3 (4 coming out soon)
Action: Devil May Cry 1, Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven
Platform: Mega Man Anneversary Collection
Racing: Midnight Club 2
Horror/Mystery: Clocktower 3 (Good for the plot)
Horror/Action: The Suffering (Very nice action)
Horror/Psychological: Silent Hill 3 or 4 (Insanely scary)
Horror/Puzzle: Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly (Spooky and puzzley)
Music: Dance Dance Revolution
Fighting: Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance (Deception coming out soon)
Adventure: Grand Theft Auto Vice City (San Andreas coming out soon)
Party Games: Syphon Filter, Midnight Club 2, Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven

8B

That party game section is mostly just... like a friend vs. friend category, cuz the PS2 isnt really a party machine like Gamecube- but those're fun games with friends.

My husband got me the Buffy The Vampire Slayer Chaos Bleeds game, and HE even liked it (took it away)! It is a really fun game, and about $20.

Like someone has already mentioned, I would reccomend Silent Hill 4. I just got it. Awesome.
It's sooooo scary and disturbing, and has some interesting puzzle-like things. Also, the whole concept of the game is very interesting, but really creepy at the same time.

I would also say Silent Hill 3 just because of the amazing story, but you would have to have played the original game first.

Oooh, also you should try Zone of the Enders and ZOE2. Very good. Big mech fighting action, and the 2nd one has cool anime cut scenes.

You know that warning that all video games come with in thier instruction manual, about how playing video games may induce a seizure...That warning was designed for this game...ZOE2 can be fun as hell, but also very frustrating (when they make you do lame missions that just suck...i.e. go save some loser & protect him)...If your into frantic action & loads of various attacks...this game is for you...

OH & in the very begining you play a mech that has a huge cock

Lets not turn this into an arguement about better games/taste, plz... Your opinions arent any more valid than anyone else's. =\ It might not be your intention to start some video game argument, but just for the future: Try not to.

Cyra will become famous soon enough
If you get Dance Dance Revolution make sure you get a good pad (like Konami's official one...there's better ones but they get pricier, the most expensive was $2,000 for an arcade replica I think)...I got a bootleg one from some underground mall in NY (oddly I couldn't even find a Konami pad in Flushing). You got to be careful cause they slip and slide real easily and all that shit. And the buttons break too. So far I ain't had no problems with mine's in about 3 years but I probably only spent around 20 hours playing it total so...

I haven't really been keeping up with video games in the past few years (except for certain genres that interest me, like sports/fighting, as well as the 'best games' through word of mouth) so I don't really know about the good games that no one talks about (ie Prince of Persia I think)...but The Bouncer is good. It's worth a rental at least and if you can find it at Circuit City it's $5 (probably all gone by now). I don't think they even carry it in major retail stores anymore aside from EB Games/Gamestop.

NBA Street 2 is hot, me and friends always played that game (and the first) without any arguments (except who was better).

http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/

There's a bunch of games up there but in different genres and stuffs.

You can get a soft dance pad for $40 at www.bestbuy.com, and I think there's cheaper ones too. If you like it, buy a hard dance pad for around $300 and they wear pretty well.
