I think in this day it's hard to be open about your faith and I just wanted to say I think it's great that you have the guts to do that.

Hey everyone. I haven't posted in a while, been a bit confused since the crash...I've been really busy lately, and haven't been able to write anything, except this...its pretty personal, its dedicated to my sister. Hope you enjoy it, critique is welcome!

Let Him rescue You

I see you there,
Buried so deep under these rocks
That have fallen on your head.
I know you're bleeding,
And, amidst this whirlwind,
You've slipped and lost your way.
You ask me what to do
When smiles have gone missing
And hope seems to be dead.
You say why believe
When the One you put all trust in
Seems to have gone away.

Pre Chorus:
Though it hurts so much, my friend,
He has a reason for placing you here.
And though He seems galaxies away,
He's never been more near.

Chorus:
He's still here,
And His strength is the only thing
That can pull you out.
His hand is reaching.
Let an undying faith
Replace all your doubt.
He sees you, He cares,
His love is always there.
You need Him more
Than anything else.
Take hold of the truth,
And He'll save you from yourself.

This poem was inspired by...well, let's just say a guy I really like...and I thought he liked me...but I guess i was wrong. i don't think this is my best work, but hey, I felt like writing! Critique and comments welcome!

Move On

How many times can my heart break
Before it cannot be repaired?
For all these injuries you left me with,
I was hopelessly unprepared.
And now, I’m paralyzed in agony,
I don’t know where to go from here.
It seems everything is blanketed with fog
When your comforting touch isn’t near.
Why did you lead me up so high
Just to let go and drop me in the end?
How can you expect me to cope with
The loss of a loved one and a friend?
It seems there is no possible way
To fit the pieces of this puzzle together.
Though my mind is still so heavy laden,
I know I can’t stay here forever.
So I take the image of you in my head,
And rip it down the middle.
I bandage my cuts, and stop trying
To figure out this unsolvable riddle.
I break down the door of this closet,
And step out into the world beyond.
With my eyes straight ahead,
I won’t look back, because the time
Has come for me to move on.

great work as always raindrop!! . the first two lines are so powerful and with that u were able to capture the readers attention. u have really nice imagery in here with "everything is blanketed with fog" and i also liked the breaking down of the closet door. <3

Hey Raindrops828, I told you I'd get to your thread. And I did. Anyway, I loved Let Him Rescue You. I think it was the sincerity and the trust that was just spread through the entire poem. I could tell you honestly meant every word you were saying.

I don't know why, but the italicized line really moved me. The way you worded it extracted the phrase from all the cliches.

This is more a personal preference, than anything else, but I really enjoy this part. Perhaps it's because I know what it feels like to feel so insignificant and far away from God, but yet to also understand that he is watching over me every second. So I think it's partly because my trust and belief in Him is strong that this strikes out at me, but also it was a great way of capturing his presence. You worded it simply and basic, yet it spoke volumes.

Anyway, awesome work! I especially loved this poem. I'll be sure to check back here often.
