Man slapped in face with wet fish

Mr Fillmore hopes to raise awareness of strokes

A 23-year-old woman has paid £210 for the privilege of slapping a stranger around the face with a wet fish.

Student Lucy Berry won the chance to slap Ben Fillmore, 24, who had begun an auction on the eBay website to raise money for the Stroke Association UK.

Ms Berry, who used two rainbow trout, said after the slap at Hyde Park's Speakers Corner in London: "It was extremely satisfying."

Mr Fillmore hopes to raise £10,000 for the charity.

Ms Berry, who was allowed to chose the type of fish used in the slapping, said: "It is kind of a dream of mine.

"I read a book about someone slapping someone with a fish when I was a child and thought it would be a great way to vent anger."

Luckily for Mr Fillmore - who came up with the idea after watching a Monty Python sketch - Ms Berry was not looking for a way to let off steam today.

"It felt ok," he said. "My face feels a bit taut and the fish really stinks. It felt very slimy but was definitely worth it."

His next challenge is to conquer Mount Everest.

"It's great to raise money but I also want to raise awareness," said Mr Fillmore, who has raised awareness.

The Stroke Association works to reduce strokes through research and health education and support people and their families affected by the condition.

A man was arrested at Chicago airport after being questioned about a suspicious object in his bag which he claimed was a bomb. It was actually a penis puffer but was too afraid to say so in front of his mother whom he was travelling with. When asked about the object he said it was a bomb, and was then arrested.

Uhm so..I'm not sure whats worse. The article about what it feels like to chop someones head off or the guy who would rather get arrested in front of his mother by saying it's a bomb instead of a penis enlarger. WtFudge?

Woman crashes when teaching dog to drive

BEIJING - A woman in Hohhot, the capital of north China's Inner Mongolia region, crashed her car while giving her dog a driving lesson, the official Xinhua News Agency said Monday.

No injuries were reported although both vehicles were slightly damaged, it said.

The woman, identified only be her surname, Li, said her dog "was fond of crouching on the steering wheel and often watched her drive," according to Xinhua.

"She thought she would let the dog 'have a try' while she operated the accelerator and brake," the report said. "They did not make it far before crashing into an oncoming car."

Xinhua did not say what kind of dog or vehicles were involved but Li paid for repairs.
