I love the lighting effect you used, Rayburn! I think it's really good, even if you don't.

That's a awesome new layout that you just posted/made. I love the colors in it. It's very pretty. I think it looks amazing.

Thanks, guys. I dunno, I might use it. I just feel like there's something missing in it. And absolutely, Ashley. All I need are the images you want in the graphic and the text/quote you'd like (if you do want one). Pretty much just a detailed description of what you want would be great. Also, if you want it a certain size, just let me know. And I'm online pretty much 24/7, so just PM me here or message me on MSN when you get PSP, or before I'm always up for conversation. My username is JRayburn1301@hotmail.com. Thanks again, all of you.

OmG, hun, I meant to answer this in my reply after it was posted. So sorry.

I don't know how other people do it, I'm sure there are tons of ways, but I add another layer onto the black and white image, set the layer to 'linear burn' and then paint away at it.

Another edit because I made another layout. This is a rare kind of layout for me; it has no textures at all involved in it. All of my layouts have some sort of textures or blending. This was really just patterns and brushes.

oh, I love this one! It looks so nice/cute for some reason.

And, when colorizing, you just add a new layer, not copy the previous one, right? *makes sure she got it right* (I'm also interested in colorizing)

Hehe, no problem. Thanks for answering now. And thanks for the tip. I've been trying to figure this out since I got Photoshop, but you know me... Having to have you explain everything step by step. .

I think it was nice to see a change. Even though all your other layouts are really really good, this one will always stand out in my mind more than them because it's different, and unusual for you. Change or experimenting is good.

Ohhh I'm gonna agree with Dora here. I like that one a lot. Your other layouts are really good, but this one is different and that's why it sticks out. It's really nice looking, hun.

Rayburn, I'm just wondering, when you put another layer over the image, to colorize it, will the shadows stay there? For example, on skin, there is always different shades of the peachy color. In black and white pictures, the skin is different variations of grey/black/white. If you add a layer, will the image erase all the color variation?

No, it wont change. Basically linear burn is just adding color to the image, all of the shadows and other atributes of the black and white image will still be there.
