Regarding the PS group - Page 4 - EvBoard

I like Evboard Elder best, it sounds really cool.

Also I think four years is too long. Two years would be better - I think there are more people here who registered in the past two years than the past four...I agree with Brainys last siggestion, too.

Ahh, okay. Thanks. That makes sense, and was pretty much was I was getting out of it (and pretty much exactly what KCMO said, lol), but I just wanted to make sure I had it right.

Entry requirements:- Time elasped is a good measure - its not a 'cool group' thing, nor pay-per-entry, yet still allows a prerequisite to get in. Most of the +4 year members I can think of should be able to have larger avs/the rest of the package anyway

They've all put the time in to get some perks, and to remain active posters today is a small feat in itself (think of the last four years here people, the social dynamics, cliche changes, etc etc!!). For those not currently in the PS-group that are big parts of the communicty - maybe the mod team can have the powers to say 'hey, that person has earned their bigger avs/etcetc in two years, not four'?

Removing the forum:- As it stands now, the PS-forum is crap. <5 threads, If it were to stay this way it should be baleeted. However, if the group starts to increase, which it will even just by the first whack of new members added to it, maybe it will become a nice little forum again. I'll admit, its nice to be able to have a place on the board that doesn't just go to *everyone*. I'd be sad to see that go (really... you guys have seen the state I can be in posting in there ahaah).

Apart from that, I think 'EvBoard Elders' does sound damn coo

I think that evboard elders and former paid subscribers shouldn't really have anything to do with each other. Having a standalone old people group would be cool to recognize those who have been around here since 2003, as well as having a contributor group to recognize everyone who actually paid back when that was in effect. For those who got voted into PS and who have only been around since forumfactory took over the board... I'd personally say feel special that enough people liked you to vote you in.

That's the point though. There aren't many people left who joined back in the day. Not any attempt at being snooty, but in all honesty, if you joined the board in 2006 (hell, 2005) or later chances are you just don't know what it was like. Old evboard, intermediate evboard, current evboard... all very different.

IMHO of course.

i second machineheads thoughts about having seperate elder and contributor groups. goes along the lne of why i was leaning toward the contributor title myself.

elder would BARELY apply to myself and a lot of the fallen crowd that joined circa 2004-2005. and would be awkward for those who joined right before ff took over and got a ps just to be able to get into the board when it went ps only. contributor, however, applies quite nicely to anyone who actually paid money and/or contributed to the place via years of posting. a seperate elder status would also be a good way to honor a few of the folks who joined in 2002-2003 but never got a paid subscription.

lol, I would be an elder contributor??? (though given the mean age around here, I guess I am.) I actually think that is a good idea though, because elders that are still here supported the board by actually staying through WWIII, WWWIV and WWV :P ANd of course caring enough to actually pay financially. And it gives noobs and semi-noobs soemthing to strive for (and stay for.) Elite-ism ftw! lol
