I know some negative rep was left because some people were like"heehee I'm going to be annoying on purpose because some ppl here sling mud" while ppl that didn't sling mud had to sit through it......

Personal attacks suck and are uncalled for, but to some, remember this isn't your personal clubhouse either, you need to live and let live as well

As nice as it will be to not have a billion posts by noobs stating "I agree with this post," (I hate that) it seems pointless to not have both a positive and negative rep. The rep system is a way of quickly expressing one's opinion about your post and there's no way everyone is going to love what you say. It has the chance of saving some useless drama posts (it's evboard, so "some" not all).

Will the reputation system still be affected by how much reputation the rep giver has?

EDIT:

It has always been agreed upon that the rep system is NOT for pointless repping, and that users who give out reps (specifically negative ones) for no reason whatsoever (giving someone a negative rep not because of their post, but simply because you don't like the person) is uncalled for and will be dealt with accordingly.

There was a board I was on for a time a few years ago that had a kudos system as opposed to a rep system; points were given to users by other users for exceptional posts, which I think is a great idea for here.

For us to get rid of some of the "hate" that's been going around, I really think we should stop pushing the idea that you can be punished by other users. If someone is being flat-out disrespectful, I think enough of us will say enough to them that an admin will ban them.

Of course, this whole idea is based on the idea that we'll have relatively stable admins now.

The only reason people were getting so much negative rep as of late was because, let's face it, we all thought EvBoard was dead and didn't really care to follow the rules; ToB didn't care what we did, so it didn't matter. However, now this is a public forum again, I seriously think a rep system is pointless without neg reps (a mod could just send a warning, why would they need to neg rep a post?) because it's supposed to be there to let people know what's acceptable and what's not, and if there's only positive reps, how are we supposed to do just that?

Just stating my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I'm as glad as everyone else to see EvBoard back
