The best RPG game I've played by far is Phantasy Star Online, and soon to be Phantasy Star Universe when it comes out this November. I did make a thread on it if someone wants to dig up any info about the game.
It's going to be on 360, PS2 and PC and it's going to have one killer character customization, should be an awesome game and I flat out just can't wait for it.

For me the best rpg ever has to be ffvii. For it has the best story of any game I've played and I loved the materia system. It also has the best badie ever, sepherioth. And it has to be the hardest game to beat' espically all three of the weapons, the emerald weapon took me two hours to beat. Now taht requires alot of patience.

I'm an RPG nerd, I'll admit it. I've played ES: Morrowind, ES: Oblivion, All Final Fantasy games, Star Ocean, Star Wars Galaxies, Ever Quest, EQ2, World of Warcraft, and Vampire Masquerade: Bloodlines. Theres probably more, but I can't think of them.

Has anyone here ever played a role playing writing game? You each create a character (or multiple characters) and then together co-write a story, post by post from your chars perspective. I'm currently involved in one that has been running almost two years now and its awsome fun!

Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy VIII are the only two that i like out of that series. Final Fantasy VII is so overtaed it aint even funny. But my all time favorite RPG is Phantasy Star IV,which takes a huge dump on any Final Fantasy game!

I had a terrible addiction to games in general, especially the RPGs... I even did used to play D&D... but my addiction was so bad - it was like... life threatening, so about two years ago(?) I gave up gaming ENTIRELY. I won't touch them, I won't watch them, I won't be a part of them... I just can't. Otherwise I know that I'll fall back into the same terrible cycle.

And Nyx, I know what you mean - part of the reason it was so easy to get away from the role-playing stuff was that a lot of the people involved would ditch it or become uninterested. God, if they were all as bad as me, I don't know what I'd be now... ::shivers at the thought::

But I just couldn't resist posting in this thread. It makes the locked up nerd inside of me spasm so fucking hard.
