Sucks. Too bad you guys don't have a Pat Catan's around. We've got 'em all over out here and they sell 'em off-brand for only 99 cents. But I'm sure you could buy cubes real cheap off of eBay or something too.

I can solve rubiks cubes also, but i use the layers method. Dunno how your method works lol i haven't tried the virtual one yet but i should think it would be harder to solve on the computer. And the layers method does work every time, sometimes you just have to repeat the last move a couple of times to get the last four bricks into place. I have a strategy that gets that done fairly quickly though.

There's a little guide booklet that comes with the cube that teaches you the layers method, but the method it lists in the booklet doesn't always work. I've since learned how to solve the cube using the layers method, but it's much more complicated (IMO than the corners method) and there are a lot more algorithms to learn if you want to be able to adjust to different situations. You can still solve it using the layers method with only a few algorithms, but you have to repeat many of the steps quite a few times. It's just very repetitive and time-consuming.

With the method I prefer to use, you solve it by going corners in. You solve the outside corners first, and then you start to solve all the middle pieces. I find it much more useful for beginners learning to use a cube, but once you can do both methods... without any quick tricks, you can solve the cube in under five minutes easily.

So I bought myself a spankin' new cube, and deep frying my brain again trying to solve it. I started out with the corners method, couldn't get two yellow opposing ones to align correctly with the colours of the white corners, so I said fuck it and started all over, with the layers method.

Now I'm kind of stuck again, because two of the bottom (yellow) corners are right as they should be, but the other two are in the opposite sides they should be on, and they're twisted around as well.

I think I'm doomed to never solve this cube, ever. Ugh. >.<
