I used to write poetry all the time, but then I stopped for a few years and I have recently started again. Here are some of my most recent, when I find my old poetry book or write some new stuff I will post more.

Bricks

I see him
see her,
while standing in the wings,
the once bright world,
comes crumbling down,
left alone to face the cold.
Cold hands
leave a cold touch,
when broken dreams reside.
Stars of the past have long since fallen.
Remains of happier lives,
all but faded away.

Untitled

When all my blue skies have dissipated,
leaving a reflection of a darker haze
and the change of warmth disguised,
the cold can not penetrate my soul,
and my eyes are left unknowing of the difference.

For other gazes brighten my eyes,
even in absence or in dreams,
comparative to a late spring morning.
No cloak of darkness or dreary dreams
able to shake this rarest bond.

And always will this feeling be,
Through thick and thin, for all to see.

In Bricks I can't decide if I like or dislike the use of cold several times in a row. I haven't decided yet..hehe. But I look forward to reading more of your work.

I wrote this one last night. I'm not particularly fond of it at the moment but it might grow on me.

The taste of tears has stained my cheeks
And left the bitter sting of hopelessness.
Hurting myself and hating you for it,
Yet still longing for your truthful embrace.
Run away from reality and find me in the moonlit night,
Take me from this misery and brush away my fears,
Love me like you once did, leaving everything feel right.
But emptiness resides here now
Unshaken by surrounding warm winds,
Left with only your heart to guide my path.
