Freewrite - You're a Parasite

It's just a freewrite, not exactly a poem. I actually wrote this a couple months ago. But I thought now would be a good opportunity to post it...

You're a Parasite

I've seen things that you may not be able to fathom.
I've endured things that you probably can't even imagine.
I do have firsthand experience
on how difficult it is to tread through all of this alone...
but the fact is, is that I've done it.
You weren't there when I was just a little girl,
with no one to turn to, no one to talk to at all.
But all that is over now,
it's been over for awhile...
but still on and on I've struggled,
not alone like I used to be,
but it wasn't you who helped me.
You were just there to watch me bleed,
as I unbandanged the wounds,
innocently thinking I was helping you.
How dare you say my pain, my fight was all in vain,
that I can't do anything - not without you.
So take all my dreams
and just throw them out the window,
pick all the flowers that took years to grow
and drop them off a cliff...
and take my last bit of determination,
along with my heart,
and put them in the blender.

Childhood Escape

cold air
(silence)
whispers to the touch,
to the slow and gentle brush
of tiny fingertips
against a night sky skin.

what an awakening emotion,
to embrace such
fireflies
of stars so heaven/sent.

tears running down
soft
child cheeks
-not from pity, not from pain-
but from the longing for my moonlit dreams
to wash caresses over me...

(it's the air i need to breathe
to fly away,
to fly away)

Wow, what a great comment...thank you so much.

I love your stuff, too. You're one of my most favorite writers on this board.

I don't even know what to type. The last time I read your poems from the beginning, I didn't really have to time to cennect with them, but I just went back and started from the beginning, and I couldn't read the last 3 pages very clearly because you brought me to tears so many times, I just couldn't see. You are amazing. I wrote down all of the ones that hit mne, and especially the verses if not the whole thing, and this is what I got...

*Butterfly flowers…*

One of the most amazing things I've ever read. So full of hope.

Quote:
So if you wish to
harm me,
use sharp needles, iron bars-
but, please be merciful and
spare the mutilation of my heart.
This one was so violent, but I felt a glimmer of hope in here as well. So defiant. I have a feeling that no one will be able to really hurt you, because you have a very strong mind.

*-Unable-*
Also, one of the most amazing things I've ever read. I had to stop half way through to reread the pure brilliance of it. Simply breathtaking.

Quote:
And my heart screams out
as my soul lies entangled
in the barbed wire
of my memory...
all I see is no end.
wow...nothing I can say...

.

Quote:
...so when tears
run down
into the darkness
of dirt,
the worst of our dreams...
know that out of it will
g r o w
such beautiful things.
Well, I must have quite the garden about spring from the keyboard... lol! this is one of my favorite pieces ever.

Quote:
My Last Glimpse at Life...
Do you know how stunning your writing is. You have a gift that few possess, and even fewer know how to use. You are truly gifted.

Quote:
Pull me back,
keep me from jumping,
for I do not want the end...
nor do I want to simply breathe.
I just want to live again.
wow...

Quote:
I'm sick of being
broken,
scattered across the floor,
just for me to gather up the pieces
-the pieces of my smile
the pieces of my heart-
and attempt to glue them
back together...
when all I really want to do
is fall,
to collapse upon the ground
and cry,
to hold myself together -
unable to shatter once again.
You offer more inspiration in just one of your writings, that I think your thread should be a published book, and mandatory for all college poetry classes. This board should not be the limit of these writings. Amazing.

Axe - Thank you so much! Nobody has ever commented on so many pieces of my poetry at once...

I brought you to tears? Heh...I don't know why, but your post made me cry.

...I can't even begin to describe just how much it is appreciated.

I meant every word!

Poetry rarely has that effect on me, and only kirsty has been able to do it more than once, and you had so much emotion and imagery in your work that every piece was flawless. I teared up reading just about every one, which made for quite the scene when my grandpa came home! I don't pick favorite writers very easily, but you have had an amazing effect on me, so I'm glad to put you right up there with the best I've ever read.

Thank you...again, thank you so much...

*feels undeserving of such flattering recognition*

Hehe...

Well, I am glad that my writing is able to have an effect like this.

Twirling

Okay, before I was too shy to post this one, for personal reasons. But...yeah, take it however you want to.

Twirling

take me away from here
(take me
take me)

there's this senseless yearning
to be released
from this mess
from myself
(from this mess of myself)
and i'm twirling
into madness
as i reach out
(i reach)
for the warmth of embrace
that's just loving
-not cold-
and so willing
-not forced-

longing for the push
of your breath
against weary skin
traveling
across me
into the desert flower
of my heart
that slowly blooms
-aching-
for the first drop of rain
(no more pain, no more pain)

please show me
(please)
i need to feel the beauty
-not ugliness-
of such sensual touch,
to know my body's not broken...

and that i'm worth it to love.
