Look upon this window,
face pressed against -
mist forming
against the glass
to match my eyes
as I watch
and dream inside my mind,

and when I turn away
it's you there next to me,
capturing my gaze with yours,
unbreaking.
Thoughts seem to collide;
the connection is amplified
from such short
a distance.

And just when I was wishing
for dreams to be more realistic,
I understand as well
that they can also be
much
too realistic...
like what could really be.

Perhaps such a way of thinking
is another sublime torture.
Or maybe...

Maybe it's just a moment
of the truest truth.

then I am drowning
and unable to breathe,
lungs pierced with imaginary bullets
and bleeding wounds
invisible
to me.

But when I say it doesn't matter, and it's all okay...
well, it's all okay because
inside I have you.
You are not fully here,
and just how deep down I cry and crave, no one ever knows.

in spite of my demons,
the connection always lingers.

And I know, I know I am so flawed,
am built of many insecurities,
jumbled pieces and weaknesses.
I know you see them...

Just how any goodness
within me overrides it all,

But somehow you think so.

And your love and belief wraps around me,
warming me in the coldest times
and shining light on me
in the darkest ...

and thoughts of you,
I linger in your perforating beauty
and I know, if I keep trying hard enough, for you I can be better.

Fate must hate me.

When it decided to fling the other half of my soul
all the way across this earth,
knowing how hard and painful
the longing would come to be,
it must have had some hateful thoughts
towards me
in mind.

As I grew up alone in a cold, violent world,
nothing fair-seeming to me,
perhaps fate was laughing
at my agony and loneliness.

And when it decided to throw in my face
the realization of
you
too far away to reach...
perhaps it was feeling extra sadistic that day.

But it's all perspective,
and a double-edged sword.

In all my bad luck,
the loneliness,
hardships and pain,

I was still brought to you.
No matter how far,
I've never been closer
to anything
or anyone...

...and never known someone more beautiful.
