Don't Forget Me...

Scattering my own ashes,
leaving the rest to the wind
to pick me up
and carry me away to beyond.

Hear the whispering wind

Floating in the air
across the grey oceans...
it's playing me now,
scraping my soul in a sad song.

Watch the rain descend

My blood falls low
into the clouds I'm above.
It's all so cold-
there drifts my crimson snowfall.

Feel new life begin

I taste vapor.
Slighting me still,
my rainwater tears
help the grass grow.

Because life will go on

Drifting forever,
I've left my body behind.
This world won't see me again,
but please, don't forget me...
for I am not gone.

Silence

I'm breaking down tonight...
stuck on a shadow
behind the frosted glass
of my mind.

I look out
(so longingly...)
as the world passes me by
(unnoticing)
I cry,
warm tears
fogging up my life
until I can't see anything at all.

(then despair
takes over me...
I cannot escape my mind)

And my heart screams out
as my soul lies entangled
in the barbed wire
of my memory...
all I see is no end.

All that's heard
is silence.

Goodbye...

I am here
all alone,
when suddenly
the pain is stronger
than myself.
But I stand,
I wipe away the tears...
and I run.
Heading for the edge
of something new...
somewhere I can fall asleep
and never ever have to
wake back up.
I drift closer...
closer to the edge,
I spread my arms,
I close my eyes.
I fall, so deep,
into a temporary flight.
Golden hair flaps around me
in the breeze
(a shredded wing)
as the flight
of my broken spirit
nears an end.

I don't think
that anyone has noticed...

but still,

I cry,

goodbye.
