If you want to get published, you should get a copy of Poet's Market the latest edition (they come out with a new one each year). Basically it gives you a rundown of all the different publications that you can get published in. You really need one of these; that way you can choose where you'd have a better shot at fitting in, because some publications are very particular about the content of the work they publish. Plus, it just gives you plain good advice on what to do. You don't even have to buy them, they usually keep copies at the library.
It would be something that you'll want to look into, why not get paid for it? If it gets accepted a few different places, you could see a nice paycheck for it. Just think about it.

Gosh Steph, you never seem to amaze me.
Your words are just so incredable, and one word is worth a thousand. The way you create youre poems, I can't find a word to describe, just how deep, and powerful they really are! Your work is just simply phenominal. ![]() <3

When the sun rose this morning,
it crept through my curtains and softly touched my eyelids. Slowly opening them, I realized the tears that had been waiting underneath nearly every day in recent times were there no longer... No saltwater tides to slip through, to come dripping down my face; only burning dry eyes to match a burning soul and such a wish to cry even more. Instead I just watched the light slowly pulling my blinds apart and trying to force its way inside, inside to the chunks of a heart forever stuck in the shade. Breathing comes jaggedly, and every intake is pain... choked up, I squeeze my eyes back shut and only feel such an urge to stay this way. |

yet again steph just amazing.
while there is no set rhythm to this one while reading it there is still a sense of flow and connection between each word and each idea the imagery is there and its as i said above just amazing again.

It can be taken so many different ways. Reading it right now, I take it as, exploring the unknown can be so difficult, sometimes it seems more worth it to let it stay that way per chance you find something even less plesant. I'm experiencing that right now. My god I've missed this thread. I've missed your words, and now I'm back to them. I love your writings. They've always been so beautiful. Emmy<3

The Torch
My hands,
they're full of emptiness, unable to touch and feel what I long for, what I cry for. The true love flourishing inside, a vast amount that I could never really carry in these palms, too soft and small. Can't fully deliver to your heart this way... My fingertips may come together, only wishing to touch yours instead. But in place is a flame ignited, a torch of eternal fire. I will carry it for you. I can stand here and fall into pain, or I can run to feel its nipping at my heels ... ...at my heart... Is it too soft, too small as well? But I will always hold the fire high - maybe it will light up your life even if I'm left behind in shadow. And if I cry too much, it's all for you, though because of you are all my smiles. I will carry this torch on for you. It may burn me through, but the flame shall never be extinguished. |
