For the record, the official evboard IRC channel is:

You can now check out the Chat link at the top, in the NavBar. This will give you several ways to connect. If you use the Java Chat, it'll automatically join you to the chat with your evboard username. This is the best way for someone who is new to IRC to get into it. You can also use one of the following clients:

• mIRC - http://mirc.com/get.html

If you are trying to connect from work or school or some other "managed" environment and you're having trouble, odds are that your efforts are being foiled by firewalls, port restrictions, and other tools of the evil empire. If you are dogged and savvy enough, you'll find a way (like me), or you'll just have to wait until you get home to chat.

NICKSERV:
If you are interested in reserving your nick on IRC, please connect to the server with the nick that you would prefer, then type /msg nickserv register YourNickServPassword Your@Email.Address.

Once you have registered, you can go to User CP -> Edit Profile and type in the following to automatically authenticate with nickserv upon connecting with the Java IRC client: /msg nickserv identify YourNickServPassword. Make sure this is exactly the same password that you used when registering.

I know that this is a bit off topic but what is up with the people on the evbaord chat?
I have been banned three times for no reason and it is quite annoying.
Has this happened to anyone else?
The first time I went on and somebody asked where I lived and what was my house number.I said that I didnt want to say because Its common sense, youre not just going to say where you live to a stranger and I got banned!
The next time I was banned because my name WherewillYouGo.Now I know its a bit cheesy but Its a name.A name.
The third and last time(I hope) that I got banned I didnt understand at all.
Somebody asked my name and I answered them truthfully.
Then suddenly it said on the screen that I was banned for lack of intelligence.
All I did was answer a question!This seriously needs to be stopped.Please.I cant go on now!

There are a few reasons as to why ops kickban. Reading the FAQ helps much so, and IRC for any first timer can be uberly confusing. Can you explain exactly what you said? Do remember that AOL/Leet Speak is highly frowned on. Ops do a starling job of keeping IRC in order. Last thing we really want to have is trollers, spammers and/or AOLers lying around. With a kickban, you usually have to wait a while until youre allowed back in, however, if you want to make further complaints, talk to someone like DhammaSeeker or Shadowwolf. They are uberly good at their job as full Op's, and can answer any questions needed.

I think I know exactly who you are, and yes... if we get rid of you every time you show your face, then you can stop trying. We don't just pick on people for the fun of it... for more than a minute or two anyway... unless you're Ceez.

On the odd chance that you aren't who I think you are and this is all a brand new thing and you're totally clueluess... I suggest sending me or another OP a PM at a time that you're trying to get on.

So that also answers part of Killsystemrules question. I personally kick when people have Ev names, because it's hard when there are 15 people talking, and your name takes up the entire screen, and lack of originality makes people not want to talk to you =[

My previously working X-Chat died awhile ago. I quit, then tried to go back on, and it says that the relic server is unknown. Is there something up with the IRC server or is it my X-Chat?

Edit: I tried going onto another server and it worked, so I'm assuming the server went wonky?
