Straight To Video Or Movies No One Has Heard Of?
I don't want movies that you found funny, I want movies with a message, movies that you thought were powerful, movies you think everyone should have seen, movies that did not deserve to go straight to DVD.
One such movie I have is called Home Room - the title in the US is Heart Of America. It's about a high school shooting - we see these kids being tormented by bullies, we see flashbacks and flash fowards of what happens to the victims, who later become so stressed, they take guns to school and kill the bullies who torment them. One scene in the film just makes me cringe - two boys are being beaten and humiliated by other kids at their school - they are forced to eat dog feces and to drop their pants and masturbate. It's then they decide to put 'the plan' into action. It's really an incredibly sad story and you never get bored, and I'm shocked it was underrated, considering the number of people who loved it! (excluding critics, lol) Best part in the whole film is the end, where we get a voice over and a run down on all school shootings in the US in the past ten or so years - that was sad. ![]() IMDB Wiki

Check out the 1985-86 Alice in Wonderland. Part one is all candy coated and fun, and a musical... until the very end when she's trapped on the other side of the mirror and the Jabberwocky appears!! That kept me and my second grade brain up way late at night wanting mommy! Part two was pretty cool because it had chess people fighting and more Jabberwocky! Part 1 was "Wonderland" & Part two was based off "Through the Looking Glass".
It's been released on DVD. I highly recommend this. WTF happened to Natalie Gregory anyway?

I think this movie was in the theaters but I've never met another person who's heard of it unless they are an Annabeth Gish fan.
It's called "Last Supper" and it's about this group of gradstudents who live in a house with each other and decide to play God. Basically the question throughout the movie is, "If you could kill Hitler before he murdered all of the Jews, would you?" and they take it to the extreme. You should really check it out, it's one of my favorite movies. ~Monica

There's another straight to DVD movie, Return To House On Haunted Hill, which I thought was good. The premise was shaky but they more then made up for it with gore and violence. I bought this movie to see it for the first time and I liked it, although it helps if you've seen the first House On Haunted Hill. The lesbian sex scene in this movie was pretty awesome. Chick on chick on chick action, really great. :P
