Besides, it's not a break of complete silence. You can actually hear someone breathe during it.

That would be a big 'HELL YES'. I still like the song, and I love the harmonies, and the 'Breathe in' line, but it really is one of the creepiest songs I've ever heard. I find it to be completely obsessive.

Those lines, particularly 'You can't abandon me/You belong to me', remind me of one of those cliche horror stories with the crazed King locking up the girl because he thinks she's his perfect queen and they fill me with fear.

It's still pretty, music-wise, though.

I always thought it was "I know you belong to me" after the "there's no escaping from me." I'm probably wrong, but that's just the way it sounds to me. Haha.

With the whole stalker thing, I wonder what Amy or whoever wrote it had in mind. I mean is there inspiration, is there an event that prompted her(sorry, i need to look at the top again to see who actually wrote it) to write the song.

Lisathewitch thanks for pointing that out to me, and everyone, about the breathing part, although, I do not think it's a breath. I think it's just some form of the music played at the beginning, but let me check and make sure.

Ok no nevermind it does sound like someone is breathing. I think they're taking a breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.

Shivercide no Amy doesn't say "...I know you want her to be..." but I can see how you can get it mixed up.

It might not be written with anybody in mind. They might just have written the lyrics like that because it sounds good. It's definitely one of the more ominous moments in terms of lyrics in Ev's musical history. Love the obssessive, stalker-ish feel it gives.

After Amy sing the last "Surrender," the lyrics are incorrect. Here are the correct lyrics:

You will surrender to me
There's no escaping from me
My love will hold you to me
You must surrender...

I, too, sense a "stalker" feeling. I don't really understand it, but it's great. The almost silent break after "give into..." sets the rest of the song's mood and let's you reflect on what you just heard. It's amazing, but I wish I knew more about it.

I definately get the sense of starkish feelings from this song, but I think that's what makes it a great piece.

:sidenote: just noticed the breathing at the break.
