I just finished the "DaVinci Code" and am currently reading the prequel "Angel's and Demons". Whether your group chooses it or not, it is certainly well-worth the time. It is possibly the best book I have ever read.

I DID stay up half the night to finish it.I wouldn't have been able to put it down if there had been no specific time when we were soposed to finish it. I loved it so i didn't mind staying up.I just feel kind of stupid 'cause I thought I was going to miss the discusion because I had to stay after school so I rushed home. I sound whiney now don't I? Sorry I didn't mean to. :/

Noooooooooo!!
Sorry, I REALLY don't like that book! I find stuff about conspiracies and so on make me angry, and I have sort or made a pact against reading that book because all my friends want me too! Sorry to be the awkward one!

i am also saying no to the davinici code

how about cathy rieches first book- cathy rieches is a GREAT author she kicks patrica cornwells arse when it comes to murder investigation novels.
i think i have read it a while ago but i decided to re-read her books as i stopped, and this would be the motivation i need
actually i read the second one never the first

OK DISSCUSSION.....
PRIDE AND PREDJUDICE

i really enjoyed the book, i found it hard to start with but i think part of that was i had the only copy left and it was large print.
i found tha characters good and in depth but as i have seen the bbc series i was kind of biased in veiwing the characters differently as i kept on seeing colin firth and the person who played elizabeth instead of discovering the characters myself.

so opinions people?

i originally read pride and prejudice for my ap english lit class. it was the first book i actually enjoyed reading that was assigned for school.

like most girls, i loved the character lizzy. she is just too amazing. and of course, despite his limited socializing skills, i loved darcy. the two of them together is just happy mushyness in my opinion.

the first line of the novel is great. i forget the right word, something a little less harsh than sarcastic...but thats the tone of it.

the characters in general are great though. i would love to have mr. bennet for a father. mrs bennet is an absolute pain, and if i had lydia for a sister, i think id go insane.

if you have the time and are mature, i suggest reading mr. darcy takes a wife. it's a sequel to pride and prejudice but it is not written by austen. it is written by a woman with the last name berdoll i believe. i just finished it yesterday and i could not put it down. although some parts are a bit risque, the plot is fantastic and the characters are pretty true to form. some moments literally had me laugh out loud while others i was like "omg no!" or "awww".

it's great really. and the woman is either planning to write, or is writing a sequel to mr. darcy takes a wife
