::covers ears::: <la! la! la!>
I'm trying not to read anything posted about angels and deamons. I just finished tDVC, and I loved it. I looking forward to researching a bit about the history and symbols he used. It's refreshing to read a good book like this that encourages people to not take history and religion at face value. Faith is healthy and good, blind faith is foolish and closedminded. Never be afraid to question anything. |

I honestly haven't read the book, and I probably won't. It just doesn't sound like my kind of thing.
From what I understand Brown bases a story around the "research" done in Holy Blood, Holy Grail about the Priory of Zion, Knights Templar and the bloodline of Jesus and Mary Magdelene. The book's popularity has seemed to have spread this idea like wildfire without taking into account that the French documents about the Priory are 20th centure forgeries. I suppose it's the same thing that bothered me with the movie Stigmata. I loved it till the end when they made the assertion that the Gospel of Thomas was somehow the "real" teachings of Jesus and the Church has been involved in a millenia long fight to suppress it. People buy into that because everyone loves a conspiracy, yet they never take the time to find out that Thomas was probably written significantly later than the synoptics. did I get off topic enough?

I'm currently reading the hard back cover of it (just bought it today) and I noticed a hidden message on the inside jackets, where they summorize the book. There's letters in bold all over the place, and if you put them in order, it says:
Is the reno help for the widow son I'm not sure if the letters were bolded on random....but...it just seemed odd to me. Btw the way. It's a good book. "Wow" on every page and cliffhanger on every chapter. |

And also, is that PHI number true about all the ratios about nature? Like the ratio from shoulder to finger tip and elbow to finger tip is always 1.618 to 1? And your height versus belly button to floor?
I've tried measuring..but the number's always something like...1.78 etc. |

There was a little quiz sort of thing on the publisher's site, and the bolded letters that formed a phrase was part of it. It's supposed to give you a hint as to what the next book will be about. |

For Da Vinci Code fans out there, go to http://www.randomhouse.com/doubleday/davinci/ to crack some of your own codes. Awesome, just awesome. You'll notice some more stuff on the book cover, and a few bizarre facts.
