The day after...

The day after... is a local band from Las Vegas, NV that I've recently come across and fell in love with almost immediately. I've been able to catch 2 of their shows in the past week and both have blown me away. They are seriously some of the nicest and coolest people to chill with and are rather amusing to be around.

I actually got to talking with them tonight about trying to get an e-team or street team going or something to that effect to help get the word out, so we'll see how that goes. For now, posting messages and stuff will do. And with that, I am now whoring them out to you guys, so hopefully you'll take a liking to them as well

Brief bio:
Quote:
Diverse. Unique. Fascinating. Just some of the words that have been used to describe this four-piece rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada…and that’s just they’re look. Being musically linked to such genres as alternative, indie/pop, post-punk, emo, college/easy, garage rock, they have found themselves put into just about every category that is even remotely rock related and the diversity of the bands in which it has played with has reflected that. The thing is that at one point or another, all categories have made sense. With influences of Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Face to Face, The Cure, Placebo, and Sunny Day Real Estate, The day after... has released two EP’s and has finished their new full-length album "COUNTING ALL THE UPSETS." After playing with bands such as Face to Face, Eve6, Local H, Switchfoot and Bowling for Soup and making a name for themselves at South by Southwest (SXSW) 2005, the band looks forward to a spring tour in 2006.

Nice, you know the band.

Good thread

I've listened to nothing but them for a few days now. I don't know what it is about them that hooked me instantly, but I fell for them hard.

They live up to the description quite well. They don't really particularly fit into any particular alt category. Having heard the four songs on their Myspace, I'm thoroughly impressed and I'll be listening to more of them.

Their website has some short clips of all their songs as well. And I also have the CDs and stuff so, ya know, have your people call my people...

*goes back to listening to them on repeat*

Cool, they seem like a pretty good band. I can't wait to listen to some of their music, after the review of them I've read.

I'm having trouble picking a favorite song. Very difficult when everything I've heard is so good

I do really like "Hallway" and "Hum," but every time another song comes on I go "oooh, I really like this one."

The day after... signs with Gotham Records!!

Just thought I'd post a not-so-little update for those who care and/or may not have heard...

Quote:
After about 2 months of talks, we couldn't be more excited to announce that we have signed with New York City based indie stalwart Gotham Records!!!!!! Patrick, Reuven and the crew there at Gotham have made us feel right at home and we are stoked to be part of the family.

We want to take this time to thank EVERYONE who has been close to us, supporting us and working right along side us for the past few years. This is a victory for all of us and we are proud of all of you. Thanx to all the Scholarship Kids for coming to all the shows, our manager Bonnie Kroll, our street/e-team captains Melissa and Shandi, and last but certainly not least, our families. The hard work is just beginning and we hope that you all will continue to support us and Gotham Records in the future. We're gonna try to make you and the city of Las Vegas very proud.

We also want to thank everyone for bearing with us for the past few months through the seemingly countless member changes that we've endured. We've been working very hard not to cancel shows, so its been non-stop between rehearsals and writing the new record. You guys have been nothing but patient and we severely appreciate it. It was said before that we have the best fans, and you guys prove that every single day. Thank you.

So, with that said, we want to formally introduce TJ Thompson (ex-Cedardrive) who will be playing the shit out of the drums for us on record and on tour. He's been doing a great job and we are excited to have him.

What about the record? Well, we have major distribution through Koch/Sony so the record will be released nationwide (more on that to come). The new songs are sounding AMAZING in the studio and we love the fact that those of you who have heard them live dig them so much.

The release date for our Gotham debut is.......October 17th, 2006!!!!!

You'll be hearing A LOT more from us in the future so stay tuned for major updates as they come. Thanx soooo much again for all the love and support and we will be seeing you on tour here real soon.

xoxox
KC, Jenine
The new material I've heard is absolutely amazing. Hope everyone will go out and support them on tour and come October when you can buy the new record in your local music store.

As for the message board, it has been pretty inactive which was kind of to be expected for a local band. But, I'm gonna try to hopefully get it going a bit more as my e/street team work progresses. I'm also gonna try to do some promoting while visiting fellow whorephans out in NY/NJ/PA next week, one main reason being the slight possibility of Gotham Records catching wind of the exposure since it's located in NYC. I will be given some copies of the Double EP and their first full-length album "Counting All The Upsets" to bring with me if anyone in the area is interested (don't worry, any and all profits will go straight to the band).

This is definitely an exciting time and any support shown/given is very much appreciated

I heard about that on the Myspace Bulletin...that's fucking awesome...hopefully they get more exposure and hopefully they start playing shows out here at least a little more often. And now with CBGB's moving to Las Vegas, lol, they should be playing there too.
