Kittencat's scratching post.
This is a continuation from the previously known "Kittencat's Stuff" thread (RIP). More than half the thread had been destroyed by the bug, but thankfully, I kept this gem of a story. As you guys know, this was a series. Well, for you guys, the entire story is in here. And very soon, more stories related to this will come to you guys. Hopefully soon, I can make a website dedicated to the entire story from beginning to present. Anyway, read on to this story. I decided the name of this story should just be "Julia, Queen of Alvadarion" for now. Read on, and please, comments are encouraged by you all. *Edited by comments and suggestions as well*
1 Julia rushed to get to school. It was a nice day, the soft breeze sifting through her red hair, the birds singing their repetitive songs as she whizzed past at 80 mph. The ground wasnt too rough, but it was so wet that she could easily slip at this speed. The bike flew past at an air-pinching speed with the dust picking up behind her. She had a nice motorbike that could ride at a beautiful yet steady speed. It could easily punch through the wind like Bruce Lee to a plank of wood. A crackling sound punched through the nearby plantation area next to her school. Julia gasped in surprise, but quickly thought of what to do. She swerved past the log that had fallen from a tree. Relieved, she sighed and continued on riding. To her surprise, someone, or something, had run into her, or tackled, maybe. She felt like she was going to die, her last moments, she thought, in a motorbike accident. To her surprise, she was caught by a tall, dark man, must have been at least 7" tall, if not taller. She was rescued, but for some reason, began to hit the man and flail madly, possibly from the shock. "Let go of me, you jerk!" she snapped. The figure nodded and dropped her. Julia fell flat on her face. Falling 7 feet from the air was not a pleasant thing as she had just discovered. She looked at him, knowing that somehow he was strangely familiar, as if she had seen this man in a present life or something. "Who... who the hell are you?" she questioned. The tall figure just nodded and dusted his coat, a wide grin and a small "Hah" escaping from his bright teeth. Julia could not believe it. She had hit into him at such a fast speed, but he did not even move, he just dusted his coat and smiled! Whoever this guy was, he was as strong as an army tank, thats for sure. He handed her an envelope, a strange encryption written onto it. Julia gaped at the tall man, still in shock from his incredible strength. It didn't even budge, and she ran into it at 80 mph! she thought. She had never seen anything quite like it, in fact she didn't know if anybody had experienced anything close to that. She took the envelope, her fingers trembling as she reached for it. As she snatched it, he nodded and set off into the plantation field. She stuffed the envelope in her front pocket, picked up her bike and and set off to school. She got to the school and as much as she didnt want to be late, people were already in class, scribbling away in their English text books. She slammed her fist against the wooden fence in frustration. "Ah gee... what now?" she snapped. Slowly, she felt the envelope in her front pocket, the one that the mystery man handed to her. That could be anything, Julia, she thought. That could be money, drugs, some infectuous disease, anything. She peeled it open from the left, carefully but impatiently. Her fingers trembled as it tore through. It was nothing but a simple letter, thank god. She unfolded the piece of paper and began to read the note. Dear Julia, You do not know me, but I know you very, very well. I am not of this world, that is all I can say about myself. You are in grave danger and very soon, you, your family and all those that love you will pay, and I am sorry to inform you now, but had I informed you any earlier or any later, you would have done something your father would have done. You do not know this, but you have been hunted since the day of your birth, and you have now been found by two of our galaxies most dangerous assassins. I will not go into detail as to what exactly is going on. All I can say is, if you see anything suspicious at around noon, run. Run to the mountain. That is your refuge as of that time, but please, believe us when we say that this is all very true. You are in danger. I am merely protecting you. Keep safe, my dear. Julia dropped to the ground. Something in her mind rushed, telling her it was real, but she still could not believe it. How could she understand why she was so significant? She was just an ordinary teenager! Could this note have meant she was born in some special place? And a galaxy... what could it all mean? A noise interrupted her. "Ah yes, this school is very clean, we tend to have a lot of rules on such things" echoed a voice. Julia's eyes widened as a lump formed in her throat. "Oh my god, not Principal McAllen!" she whispered to herself. She hid behind an old oak tree as he walked down the outer court of the school. "Yes, we do look out for our students. Keeping them in class is our number one priority!" he boasted. Ironic, she thought.I'm out of class and nobody's come to get me yet. Julia snuck past the hallway, carefully so she would not get Mr McAllen's attention. She rushed down the lower court corridor, concentrating on the message and her surroundings. She felt an eerie prescence before her, stabbing her like a bed of nails. Two long, dark, morbid figures burst in the doorway, staring directly at Julia. The two shrieked loudly and held up their fists, scaring Julia stiff. Quickly, they paced toward her, gaining speed with every single step. With a broken, artificial voice, one yelled out "It's her, get her!". Julia yelped, quickly turning around and ran out the door as quickly as possible She sped up the corridor, down the staircase and out the door in record time. Julia could see the two oddly shaped human figures gaining on her and although she was fast, she noticed something very supernatural... Their feet didn't touch the ground, they were gliding towards her! She burst out of the school, running among the singular portables. They chased her towards a dead end. Come on Julia, move it, she thought. Looking around her was nothing but walls and a gate. A wire gate, leading to a roof. Thats it! Julia clutched on, climbing up toward the roof. She struggled on, picked herself up and began to pick up speed as she took flight down the roof. The roof was rusty and could have easily caved in. The two figures shot up at a fast speed. Julia turned and saw the two evil figureheads chasing after her. She ran for her life, not thinking of where to go. Bullets sprayed the roof, sparking here and there. Julia dove off the edge of the building, landing on the hard ground. Still, she managed to keep running. Something inside her pushed her to keep running. She saw the carpark. Thats it, the bike! Her motorcycle, a beautiful piece of machinery, waiting eagerly to fly down the highway. Julia ran up to it, started it up and rode on. Julia got on the highway. She couldnt think of what the hell was happening, only questions ran through her mind as she tried to convince herself this was not real. Why were they after her? What could she have done to have this happen? She was a good kid, didnt drink, didnt smoke, didnt do drugs, none of that bullshit. More importantly, what could she do now? It occured to her, along at some point, that the letter had some instructions as to what to do. Julia swerved her bike, kicking up some dust. She opened the letter, re-reading it. I will not go into detail as to what exactly is going on. All I can say is, if you see anything suspicious at around noon, run. Run to the mountain. That is your refuge as of that time, but please, take heed of this. You are in danger. I am merely protecting you, keep safe. She couldnt exactly think straight, but she followed the note and headed for Mount Eaglefell. She could see two figures on bikes coming up. She tried to start the bike again. "Argh!" she yelled "There's not enough time!". She threw the bike down and ran. The mountain wasnt too far, she thought to herself, I can make it. The mountain was a full days climb. She and her best friend, Mark, climbed the mountain often to take photographs in Photography classes. She could make it, and if she ran, she could get there faster. She was cautious of the mountain. It had a history of some climbers that didnt make it- what worried her was that most died by the mountain. It began to spit. She could smell the rain coming soon. She finally reached the peak. A dark cloud surrounded the mountain, striking lightning about. But she had to do as she was told in the note, otherwise it could have meant her life. It began to rain heavily on her, after a few seconds, she was soaked. Puffing and panting, she began to feel frustrated as tears streamed down her face. Two dark figures leapt up on the peak with ease and stared at her. "Stay here, Julia, you must be eliminated" chanted both figures. She looked to the sky, looked at the ground and began to yell. "So....so this is how you seek refuge? By bringing me to my murderers?!" Then and there, both reached out their hands. She knew this was the end. Their hands took a bright glow, something mystical about it. She knew her last moments here wouldnt be pretty. All of a sudden, as if everything has slowed down peacefully, an eagle flew in between them. As Julia and the eagle met, a bolt of red lightning pierced through the eagle, hitting Julia in the chest. The bolt sent Julia off the mountain. For 1000 metres, she fell down the rocky mountain. The rain pelted down on her lifeless body. She was surely as good as dead. Julia was not found for days on end. Mark, her long time friend, began to worry. She could have been dead, or kidnapped, for all he knew, she could be anywhere. He looked around for her, searching everywhere in the city. He drove to Mount Eaglefell to find her. Julia was cold, lifeless, dead. Mark looked everywhere. "Julia! Julia! Juli...". He saw Julia, lying dead down the bottom of the peak. He ran to her and bowed down to her. "Julia? Julia, speak to me! For the love of god, speak to me!" he cried. Her eyes were closed shut. She was white, she was numb. He knew she was gone from him. "Julia...." he sobbed. Mark lifted her up from the muddy ground and carried her to a small, abandoned cave in the mountain. He lay her down on the cave floor. He took a rose from a nearby bush and rested it on her hands. He held her hand one last time. Tears streaming down his face, he kissed her cold hand. "If I wasnt such an idiot, I would have told you how I felt..." He turned his head and punched the ground. "Why the fuck did I let this happen?! WHY?!" he yelled, choking on his tears. Mark knew in his heart that he did love her, but she was gone, there was no more that he could do. She had disappeared from him, he wanted to hear her laugh once more, he wanted to hold her once more, to be able to say all he had wanted to tell her for so many years. So many mixed emotions flew through his head, this didnt seem right. He sobbed to himself "Why.....why did I let her go?" as he had his head in his hands. Someothing touched his shoulder. He turned around, being blinded by the light surrounding a figure. "Do not cry, Mark" echoed the figure. Mark was stunned. "Who... who are you?" he whispered. The figure looked at him and smiled, the light fading slowly. The light faded away. Mark could not believe his eyes. "Ju... Julia?" he murmured. "I... It cant be!" he yelled. Julia looked at his eyes. She walked up to him and felt his hair. It was soft, she thought. Mark was confused, what had happened? Why was Julia so... alive?. "Mark, I have been reborn" she said softly. She stood up, threw her arms back and out shot a massive pair of wings. They werent white, they were brown, eagle shaped wings. Julia looked nothing like herself anymore. Mark stared in amazement. "Julia....I..." he gaped. Julia walked to him slowly and gracefully. "Mark, I heard what you said before. About you loving me, and all that corny stuff" she said. Mark felt a hint of embarrassment rush in his face. "I just wanna tell you Mark, Ive felt the same way about you too" she said. She slowly moved to him and kissed his cheek, turned and flew into the horizon. Mark sat by the cave entrance and said to himself "I knew you werent all you said you were, my Julia". 2 Julia had changed so much on that day. She could have easily been killed that day, hadn't that stranger bumped into her. Julia, who had been trapped in her mind for four days, slowly evolving into this new breed of human, was still confused. Why was it given to me? What did I do to deserve being hunted by two, creepy looking beings? Why me? The mixed emotions flowed through her head. She felt ecstatic, she could fly above the fields with complete ease. At the same time, she was worried. The note had said to her"You, your family and all those that love you will pay." She felt uneasy. If there was one thing she had a weakness for, it was her family. She loved her family so much, if anything happened to them, she would be devastated. She pierced through the wind like a jet at high speed, and found her way to her street. Something was horribly wrong. Fire trucks going up and down the road, people swarming around and crying. Julia hid her wings inside her back and rushed to see what was going on. She ran to the area of her home. All of it was a flaming mess. Smoke and ash surrounded the area, firefighters clearing the area. Her home, everything she had, her family, all gone away. Julia sunk to her hands and knees. She lost everything. She looked to the ground, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Oi, you, young lady, it isnt safe here" Julia was hesitant. "What happened here? Who....is everyone okay?". The firefighter shook his head and said "Im sorry to say, but the people that were sleeping there last night didnt make it... I cant find them anywhere. I mean, who knows, they probably went looking for their daughter, but someone said they were home at the time of the fire". Julia stared at him, pacing backwards and ran away. Julia sat by the field, crying. Her family, the only amount of life left inside of her spirit, was gone. She felt responsible, but what for? Why was some fucking bastard trying to ruin her life? What was so important about her? What did she do that was so wrong, that it cost her family? The soft breeze flowed through her. She couldnt stop crying. She was now an orphan, she was homeless and now she was alone with these powers that still needed discovery. She thought of her old memories, of a life that was normal. She thought of her family, she thought of Mark, she didnt care about what would happen to her. She cried herself to sleep, sleeping under a shady oak tree. The next morning came. She didnt hear the radio that morning. She didnt hear her mother whisper to her "Come on, sweety, time to wake up" that morning. She woke up in a field of grass, picking leaves out of her hair. She was exhausted, hungry and so distraught. She needed recovery. But what could she eat? How could she clean herself up? She thought hard about it. She was unaware of her capabilities, she was still much like a young bird, still learning how to fly. She could fly, but she grew tiresome after a while. She sat down and closed her eyes. Everything was shut off, her troubles, her worries, everything. A small squirrel ran by across the field, chasing a butterfly. She stood up, bellowed and pointed at the squirrel, as if in a fit of uncontrollability. It froze in mid air. "What the hell..." she said to herself. It was frozen, as if time itself had stopped for the small rodent. She looked at it hard, inspecting it. She could see through it, almost like an X-ray of it, or a cross-section diagram of it, even though the squirrel hadnt been touched. Julia jumped back in surprise, never had she seen anything happen like this before. She pointed at the little squirrel again, and it fell to the ground as if nothing had happened. She couldnt believe it. She had done this all to herself! If she could harness this, god knows what she could do. Her head began to hurt, a loud ear-piercing scream ripping through her... "Julia, you are not of this planet. You were born to save this planet, but you must come home first. You are not ready, not now. And do not cry, for your family is still alive. Look out for us" Julia recovered from the fit, but couldnt begin to think about any of this. What the hell? Not of this planet? Come home? She felt a cold tingle rush up her spine. "No.... I was born here. I must be, I have a heart, Im alive, Im human!" she yelled. She stood up and looked at the sky, it was around mid-afternoon. She looked at her hands, they felt ice cold, which was unusual on a summer day. Her fingers trembled, and started to dissipate. She screamed in horror, slowly dissipating from her fingers, arms, body, legs, head. Julia had completely dissipated. 3 A massive spiral of so many colours, every molecule in my body is vaporised, spinning, spinning, spinning, its going faster, faster into nothing.... Julia woke up, completely regenerated on a hard rocky surface. Dust surrounded her, but it wasnt a dusty sort of dust, it was more like a diamond powder. It glittered beautifully, even though no light came from a sun, or the sky, for that matter. As it sifted through her hands, it made a small, chiming sound, almost inaudible, but if it was silent, you could hear it well. Julia rose up steadily on the sandy area. She looked around the land. It looked desolate, surrounded by craters and mountains. Julia wondered how she even got there, and why she was even there in the first place. As she dusted off, she said "Well, theres only one way to find out". She extended her wings and flew to a nearby mountain. Although a lot of events happened on Mount Eaglefell, she had to see if there was any life on here. Searching for three hours on end, all she saw was a horizon, preety sand, a bunch of craters and mountains. It was pointless. She had nothing to do but give up. Gliding down, she landed on the craters edge and sat down. She felt lost, but knew there was nothing there. Her head began to twitch uncontrollably, along with her body. She fell down the edge, still twitching. The same voice whispered to her another message: "You are not looking, Julia. Wait for us, we will come for you and set you on your task" She stopped her violent fit and slowly recovered. Those mind messages hurt her a lot, even if they werent real, they hurt. But, with all the stuff that had happened, Julia waited. Hours passed as Julia waited for something to happen, other than seeing sand sift by from the wind. She grew tired, she felt like a rest. Her eyes slowly grew heavier, and soon enough found herself asleep. "....Do you think its alive?" "Maybe, it looks like its breathing" "Ah, she has those weak Earthling habits, we can kick that habit out of it". Julia awoke, not realising how long she has been asleep for. Two tall human looking figures were looking down at her, holding long staff-like weapons with two orbs at the end (known as a Shringard) upright. Julia rubbed her eyes and said hazily "Mm.....what...whats going on?" The two guards pointed the Shringards at her. Julia began to grow scared of them, not knowing of what was happening. Or of what was about to happen. Julia entered a massive city, it didnt look alien, like what you would see in a Sci-Fi movie, looked rather ancient. But it was beautifully made, it wasnt damaged, untouched by time, it was so clean. The civilians in the city stared at Julia, as if she was a complete alien. The guards entered a massive palace, encryptions of whatever language they spoke were marked on the bricks, possibly to record historical events. Julia walked down ten, long hallways, until finally, she reached her destination. The guards stood before somebody, a leader, maybe? She did not know. The guards stopped before it and said "My lord, we found it. Shall we dispose of..." "No", interrupted the figure. "Leave it with me, I will be fine". His voice was deep and echoey, more mystical than usual. Julia felt frightened, what was this lord supposedly going to do with her? What may happen? Will she live to tell the tale? Julia stammered and trembled before the leader. She felt like she was going to vomit, or do something that might alarm them, like set off a power she still had not discovered. The leader motioned for everyone in the palace to clear off. In a few seconds, everyone left the building. The leader rose from its chair. "I suppose you wonder, what is this place, how did you get here?" The leader stepped out of the dark. He looked hardly anything like a king... sure, he had a crown, but he looked dirty. His face was unshaven, he was young and had a few battle scars on his face. He had this twinkle in his eye, as if he knew something good or bad about Julia. He wore a long, furry robe, royal blue in colour, to be precise. For a moment, he looked at her seriously, but gave out a warm smile. Julia felt relieved. She was going to have her questions answered at this moment. The leader raised his index finger. "Now now, not all of your questions have an answer. I am here only to pass on something to you, a position, if you will. You, Julia, are not born an Earthling. Although you have the habits of one, such as its violent mind and its selfishness, you are born as one of us" Julia couldnt believe this. She paused, and began to laugh so hard, her stomach felt sore. "You....you, of all people, a leader....you tell me all this?" she chuckled. "Oh, great, and I guess I was the Queen of Sheba in some previous life" she retorted. She couldnt contain herself, neither could the leader. He outstretched his arm and bellowed, forcing Julia to collapse into a strong fit. Julia felt a great pain through her entire body. The leader let go, and Julia cried out in pain, wailing and writhing. "Good. I hate it when an Earth raised being acts like that" snapped the leader. Julia panted in relief. The pain was indescribable, really, the only description she could think of it being close to was like having two thousand knives being jabbed through your body. The leader continued. He paced, his fingertips pressed against each other. "So, as you can see, you are on our planet. This is the planet Alvadarion. This planet is not of your galaxy, you indeed have come a long way. For now, you, Julia, have much to learn. Get changed, Arkwald will show you the way" he ordered, pointing to a young guard and nodding. Julia followed the young guard to a door. The leader sighed and slumped back in his chair. The chancellor, standing nearby his king, rushed up to him. "Sire, sire! You didnt tell her about it!" he saiid worringly. The leader smiled and looked up. "In due time, my friend. In due time". 4 Arkwald and Julia both walked into a room down the end of a long corridor. Julia felt hesitant to see what was bound to happen. Curiosity kinda got the better of her these past few weeks, but for some reason, she was too busy admiring the beautiful artwork carved so carefully into the walls. It was mystical, flames dancing from the long torches, beautiful stones glittering as she walked by. Arkwald took her to a room, a guest room. Arkwald cleared his throat and said "You will be staying here for a little while until Lord Faranagard tells us otherwise. Make yourself at home, Julia" he said as he closed the door. The room was beautifully set. The walls were so smooth, and it seemed like they were all connected, as if they hollowed out a gigantic stone and made it into this building of beauty. She sat down on a chair made of solid timber with jewels surrounding the arms and the back. A gigantic bookcase covered a whole wall, filled with books with strange encryptions. She took out a book that had a golden spine and opened it up. She thumbed through the old pages, seeing these strange marks. A knock on the door stole her attention, so she placed the book on the ground and rushed to the door. A guard stood at the door. "Julia, request permission to see Lord Faranagard immediately" commanded the guard. "Permission granted, I shall see to him as soon as..." "He is here to see you here, Julia." interrupted the guard. The guard bowed as Lord Faranagard entered her room. The long doors closed as Lord Faranagard entered. Faranagard paced towards the bookcase as he spoke to her. "Julia, we need a discussion of all the recent events as to why you are here, and why you had so much happen to you". He paused and looked over to the bookshelf, looking at the books and pointing as he muttered to himself. He picked up a large book, and with ease he carried it to a table. He opened the book, peeling through each page. He stopped and began to read. "Julia, as I have told you before, you are not of Planet Earth, you are of our sacred race. But theres more to you than just that. You, are my niece" Julia, stunned by that, stammered and stood back. Faranagard spoke. "Ah, the old Book of Leaders. Here we are, this man here, see him? He is my brother, Caratagard. He ruled this place at a very dark time." "Eighteen earth years ago, he fought in a very tough battle, the battle that affected this second Solar system for so long, had come to a close. You see, Cataragard loved his planet so much, he fought against a powerful, evil enemy by the name of Trachtaldar. Cataragard defeated him, but he too, had his life taken". Faranagard wiped a tear from his cheek. "Julia, Cataragard was..he was... your real father". Julia jumped back in surprise. "WHAT?! My.....My Father...led this place?!" hollered Julia. Faranagard turned his head and nodded. "I am not the true king. I am only the second hand man, thats why I had to find you. Your mother, Garaldya, had you, but had to let you go on Earth as refuge until you discovered yourself. You were found by two people, and they raised you as their own." Julia could not imagine any of this being true, but with the unbelieveable events, and the shock, she didnt want to bring it up. "Eventually, someone told Trachtaldar's son, Archwellgian, about this. That is why you were being chased, they were planning on killing you over there". Faranagard paused as he looked to the ground. "I had to take a warrior by the name of Arlen to give you the note. I had it written in Common Earthish, or English, as you call it. We here speak many languages, but mostly in Ancient Alvardian, which is our primary language." "You, Julia, are my brothers blood. You have the throne, it is yours unless you decide to let go of it and the legacy of the Kiandreah-lim breaks". Julia wanted to say no, she had no idea of this place, or her powers. Faranagard knew what she was thinking. "Julia, we saved your life, only to protect our true leader. We want you to help us in this time of need. I know your mind isnt ready, that is why I am here, to train you! I can strengthen you within days, please Julia, please lead us!". Julia thought. Faranagard said to her "Julia, think about it for some days and come back to me later". For days, she thought about it. It could mean her life, her everything. Lying in her bedroom, she couldnt comprehend all of this. Why me? Why should I? How? Who is this enemy? Why? After four days of thinking, she came to her decision. She walked to the main chamber. She bowed, but Faranagard scolded her. "Do not bow before me, I don't need it". She rose up, and cleared her throat. "Uncle Faranagard, I, Julia, have thought for days on end about your offer in leadership. I accept the role as Queen of Alvadarion". 5 "Close your eyes, Julia" whispered Faranagard. Julia was in a massive, dark room with only a few lights around her. She closed her eyes and sighed. "You are here to learn new parts of the mind that you cannot comprehend. I am going to break you open and show you more than you could ever imagine. You are here to learn your powers, Julia. You may face instability, and thats ok, but try to keep calm". Julia felt uneasy. She got nervous when learning this kind of thing, and at her age, she could easily hurt someone. "Focus on your surroundings, feel the ground and the air around you. Feel my movement, hear the breathing around you....." he whispered as he slowly left the dark room. Julia slumped, focusing on her surroundings. She had only done that once with a furry rodent. This time, she was going to attack someone with an unloaded Shringard. She stood still, feeling her heart thump, her breathing, her blood pulsating. She could hear more breathing. In a different pattern. Facing northwest. She jumped, twirled the Shringard and hollered as she hit a young guard across the chest. The guard fell down heavily, moaning in pain. Julia stopped, dropped her Shringard and rushed to the young guard. "I am so sorry! Are you ok?" she said apologetically to the guard. The guard lifted his head and hit Julia across the face with his Shringard. Julia moaned in pain as she fell, blood gushing out of her nose. "Rule Number one, never let down your guard". echoed a voice. Julia looked across as a tall, dark figure walked to her from the dark area of the room. "If I have saved your life once, you better make the most of it, otherwise you're gonna end up killed". Julia knew that she had seen someone like that somewhere, but she couldn't exactly remember. "My name is Arlen, I saved you on Earth with that letter". Julia remembered smashing into him. Damn, he must be strong, she thought. "Come on, lets get down to some training" snapped Arlen. Julia clutched on the empty Shringard, focusing on Arlen's instructions. "This is no time to fool around kid. If youre gonna lead us, you better know how to defend yourself. Now quit acting stupid, lets start". Arlen was really strict, but thats the way he worked. Julia picked up her Shringard and placed it upright. Arlen paced left and right in front of her. "I.....I know you are keen, Julia. I am here to teach you, and this is my first rule. Focus. No fooling around in my area. Show me that you are ready". Arlen swung his Shringard unexpectedly at Julia, causing Julia to duck down and swing the Shringard in mid air. Arlen sighed and said "Good, good. Now you need to learn how to aim your staff". Arlen swooped at her feet, Julia extended her wings and flew to the top. As far as she knew, none of them could fly. She could grab enough time to focus. Arlen jumped up and flew over her, knocking her senseless into the ground. Arlen landed, twirled his Shringard and said "Again, focus". Julia picked herself up from the ground, slowly trying to recover. Arlen flipped forward in midair, preparing for another attack. Julia felt everything feel slow, she closed her eyes. She could feel him coming in. Julia took out her Shringard, blocked his attack and whacked his head so hard that he fell. Julia stood still, realising that she had just hit Arlen across the head. she panted loud and angry, as if she had used every amount of energy in her. She kept the Shringard to her side as Arlen slowly picked himself up. "Well, I cant say I have had a student hit me so well. You focused, very good. Lets call it a night for now, shall we?" said Arlen. Julia nodded and set back to her room. She got to her room, exhausted, but feeling accomplished. She felt sore from being hit so many times, from the hours of standing up. She sat on her bed thinking of home, and how she missed Mark. Sure, he wasnt one of her people, but she wanted to see him once more. She hugged her pillow, drawing back the tears and layed down, waiting for the next day. For weeks on end, she trained. Arlen had broken her, and she knew that she was. She had unlocked so much of her ability, she was so strong and agile, even Arlen could see it. Arlen sat by a small creek and watched as she flew back to the palace. He sat back, watching her fly. He smiled and said "Yeah, all fun for now. Just wait until he comes for you again, sweetheart". 6 Archwellgian twirled his goblet around, swirling the bitter wine around. Two guards held two morbid assasins, as they fought to get off. The guards stopped. "Here are those two that you wanted, sir" announced a guard. "Good. Leave them here, all of you, leave now. I have to....discuss some matters" he commanded. The guards left the room, leaving the two assassins, trembling for their lives. "Please, my lord, spare us, we can kill her...." "ITS TOO LATE, YOU IDIOTS!" he yelled. He took a swig of the wine and spat it out. He threw the goblet on the floor. "Look at you, two supposedly amazing assassins, trembling here, because you cannot kill a fucking fifteen year old girl. Now that she was struck with the Ptarin Bolt, she is now too fucking powerful for our good." The two trembled. "Please, my lord... we beg of you to spare us" sobbed one of them. Archwellgian spat. "You pathetic scum". Archwellgian glared at them as they trembled. "Please sir, you had to have seen.." Archwellgian outstretched his hands and closed his hands. Their mouths sealed tight from his telekinetic power. "You wont quit, will you? You wont shutup, you stupid motherfuckers. You cannot carry a simple task, a simple assassination. Instead, you fool around and fail me. Do you know what I do to failures like you two?" The assassins both muffled a scream. Archwellgian released them both. "Please, my lord, we are known across the universe as the best assassins around. We are..." "I know damnwell who you are, you are Yurkiel and Turiz, the two most dangerous people to meet. Well, at least thats what some fucking moron told me" The two trembled in fear. Archwellgian leant against a massive table, speaking softly. "I made a simple request from two of the best assassins around. And I see you have failed. Lets put it this way. I do not like failures. Failures block my way. My father killed that measly planets leader before he died. He sacrificed himself to kill their leader. Now I find that you cannot even kill off his spawn". He turned around and raised his hands. The two assassins lifted up and started to shake. He cackled and closed his fist, as two murderers fell down, crushed alive. "Get them out of my sight" he commanded. "My lord" announced a guard. "Julia is in her real home planet, they got to her before we did. Shes been residing there for weeks now and..." Archwellgian raised his hand. "No more, young guard. Just, send the troops to go kill them or something, I dont fucking care". he snapped. The guard walked out and sounded the alarm. One by one, a massive army surrounded around a gigantic row of carriers. All of them packed in, imaptiently getting ready for a battle. Julia flew around the massive city, (which by the way, had a name. The planets name is Alvadarion, the citys name is Sharwald, but generally, they think of themselves as a whole planet rather than be separated) looking at the citizens. Young and old, they seemed to get along so well, as if sin was non-existant to them. She wished for a day when she could see that happen on Earth, but in her time, it was highly unlikely. The soft breeze sifted through her hair as she flew gently over the surface. The silver clouds sifted by peacefully as they did on Earth on a nice day. She landed on the palace entrance, extracting her wings in her back. Julia paced up to the gate, when all of a sudden, a young guard rushed, puffing and panting to her. Julia jumped in surprise. "My queen.....Julia....you... are in danger....THEYRE COMING!" he shouted. "What....young guard, please, speak to me and explain this!". The guard caught his breath and spoke up. "My queen, invaders...minions of Archwellgian, theyre heading this way!" Julia felt a rush of adrenalin flow through her. "Send out the army! Prepare for attack! Lets go! Move, Move, Move!". A massive army marched to war, holding Alvadarionite weaponry, such as Shringards, Shelikites (Razor sharp star shaped items that heat up from movement) Long Swords, Bows and Arrows and tiny blades. They all set out, armored and ready. The carriers landed, bursting out with enemies. The warriors, young and old, fought. Blood spilt everywhere, shrill shrieks screaming. Julia was ordered to stay where she was. She saw the fight happening, tears flowing down her cheek. People, her people, were dying. She couldnt handle it no more. She picked up a Shringard and headed for the windowsill. "My Queen! What are you doing?" shouted a guard. Julia sighed and looked at the guard. "There are some things that a leader must do for her country. This is just one of those times. My uncle is still alive, he can take over if I pass away". And with that, she extended her wings and set off. 7 Julia swooped down below the battlefield. She ignored the hollering from the North Tower, yelling for her to come back. Arrows, spears, weapons flew past her as her speed overtook them. Julia effortlessly flew over the immense battlefield, landing on a small hill above them. She grunted as she landed on the rocky surface, clutching onto her Shringard. Julia raised her weapon up, twirling the Shringard around at a blurring speed. As the Shringard made a sudden halt, she crouched and leapt towards the sky, leaping high above the soldiers. A massive light emitted from the Shringard, an emerald green ray bursting from its centre. The massive pole shook in her grip as she let fire. A massive section of the enemy lines tore down, disintegrating anything in the path. She twirled it again and set down to the field, preparing for another attack. Gliding at a ripping speed, she lowered her Shringard and smacked down many with her weapon, sending a good amount of enemies flying metres high, blood spilling from their mouths. Julia raced up to another hillside, feeling a sensation rush through her. She eyed the two massive loading ships that carried the enemies army. She opened her hand, closing her eyes. Power surged through her, pulsating through every limb, every vein, artery. Every cell in her body feeling a surge of power like nothing she had ever felt. It wasnt a regular energy burst. She saw innocent citizens, young and old, being tormented. It was a mental image, something she didnt want. She saw that, and it killed her to see people she loved, people she lived for, dying. A spiral circulated around her arm, changing colour, from white, to fiery red, to emerald. Sweat pulsated down her forehead, using everything she had inside of her did work up a sweat. Julia felt her power ready to release, her arm shaking with power, she knew that she was ready for it. She yelled out a massive bellow, releasing a massive ray of light. The light soared over the field, silencing everyone. The ray pierced through the two ships, causing a massive explosionon the enemy field. Many fled for their lives, the enemy half almost gone. After a few more hours, the battle had been finished. The inhabitants of Alvadarion rejoicing over their victory. They sat down, helping the injured, mourning the dead, but still celebrating. The army rested, getting ready to head back home, when a sudden rumble echoed from the sea. A bellow erupted, followed by a dark cloud heading over the sea. People, soldiers, citizens, screaming. Julia knew that whatever this was, this was evil. 8 A dark cloud passed over the horizon, slowly gaining more and more, lightning striking from every part of the sky. A bellow echoed through, massive thumping beating through the ground. A gigantic beast, covered in fire, licking flames from its massive arms, bellowed and grunted. It had spikes out of its spine, a mane, long enough to touch the ground, a tail made of fire (or so it looked like), its body was as black as coal, and a set of ten eyes. A youngish looking man sat on its shoulder, holding a chain to its neck. The beast halted as the man bellowed. The monster cowered and whimpered as he ordered. The man stood up and raised his arms. "Lo and behold! Your doom has met you, O Queen Julia!" he taunted. Julia spat at the ground. "Who are you, and what the hell do you want from me?" she yelled. The evil figure smirked. "Obviously your precious uncle Faranagard didnt teach you shit" he taunted. He jumped from the gigantic beast, landing perfectly. He rose and eyed Julia. Taking a deep breath, he announced "I am Archwellgian, son of Trachtaldar. You know him? Hah, Of course you do. He did, after all, destroy your father. Heck, he should have obliterated you when he had the chance". Julia felt a massive lump in her throat. Not of tears, but of anger. She looked to the ground, growled and rose her head. "What are you doing on my home? Why are you here?" she yelled. Archwellgian tilted his head back, flicking his long hair. "I came for a..." he started to smirk, "Discussion. Yes, thats what, a discussion". Julia felt a chill shoot up her spine. The way he said discussion had a deathly feel to it. She knew. "I do not need to discuss with you. Get off my area, otherwise I will have to put you to rest". Archwellgian laughed. "You think its that easy?" he taunted. Julia knew he was going to do something. Slowly, he raised his hand, a soldier, rising in the air, screaming. "Look at this. Your, army, you say?" he said. Closing his fist, the soldier vomited blood, falling to the ground. Julia looked at him, stunned that he could do that. Archwellgian laughed at her. "You think that this is one big game. You think its so easy because you are Queen of this planet. Lemme tell you, I can easily destroy you all. But I have much more matters to take care of. Julia, you remember....whats its name, Planet Earth, by any chance?" he grinned. Julia gasped and felt a rush through her head. "Im off to go speak matters with them. You can drop by anytime if you want to see your old home up in flames. Must go now, must not be late!" he said. "Catch ya later!" he cackled as he spun and vanished. Julia fell to her knees. She lowered her head. "I need to save them, I need to, but how do I know its not a lie?" she murmered. Faranagard ran up to her. "Julia! Julia! Julia!" he yelled from the distance. Julia spun her head around. Faranagard ducked down beside her. "Oh god, my dear Julia, oh god, are you ok, darling? Please tell me your okay" he said, choking back tears. Julia nodded, as Faranagard hugged her. "Julia, do not believe him, hes a liar, just like his rotten father...." Julia silenced him. "Uncle, please, for my sake, I must go there. I have so many things, left behind. I cannot tell you, but I must go" she whispered. Faranagard looked at her. "Your mind is telling me nothing, but your heart screams a name, a person you long for" he murmured. She looked at him and whispered "Mark....". Faranagard nodded. "I shall not question my Queen. I protest against it, but if its the wishes of you, I must do so". Julia rose up, closing her eyes. Faranagard handed her a few weapons. She held them, and hugged her uncle. "Dear Uncle, please, take care of my people. I know you can do this, but for now, take them to the underground shelters. Keep them safe, and battle at will, okay?" she ordered. Faranagard choked back tears. "I dont want to lose you again!" he sobbed. Julia outstretched her arm and rested her hand on his shoulder. "I wont fail you. I promise you" she whispered as she paced back. She closed her eyes, thinking of the lush, green field in which she stayed. A cool breeze sifted through her hair, a familiar oak scent breathed life into he lungs. She opened her eyes, seeing Earth as it was. She smiled, seeing the wild animals, birds, trees. She hadnt seen those in quite a while, and for her, it felt good. She began running towards home. Mark sat at home, sitting on his bed. It was windy, breezy. Mark remembered Julia, feeling a deep sadness in his heart. She had gone, possibly forever, from him. He could remember the last time she touched his hands, her hands, so soft and gentle, like a doves wing. He wanted to see her one last time, to hold her, embrace her. To feel through her beautiful hair. A tear ran down his cheek. Although she had become some form of eagle and human, he could still feel her, inside. He knew that she was alive, he knew it. Mark layed down at his bed, holding a photo of her. He could feel her, he could feel her inside his heart. His mother opened the door. "Mark, darling? Are you awake?" she spoke softly. Mark looked at the photo, a slight pause in between. "Mum, I miss her so much. Shes missing, and I dont know what to think, I still love her, and I miss her so much, Mum" he sobbed. Marks mother sat beside him and rubbed his shoulder. "Its ok darling, its ok. I know how it feels to lose someone close to you, and it isnt easy, I know" she said, trying to rerassure him. "Thanks Mum, but right now, I just need some time to think, if thats okay" he murmured. Marks mother closed the door, watching him weep. He sat on his bed, listening to a beautiful song on the piano through his CD player. The soft voice, gentle and calm, yet sounding sad, drifted through the song. Tears welled up in his eyes. It was his and Julia's favourite song, both of them loved it. Since he met her, he secretly loved her deeply. It was something about her, she was so perfect to him. To others, they couldnt see what he could. She was so funny, and so clever. So beautiful to him. But she had faded away, like sand sifting through his hands. He stood up, walking to the desk. He sat down and opened his diary. He kept a diary, so he could be recorded later on in life. He picked up his pen and began to write: Dear Diary, I cannot seem to forget this pain in my heart. It is a heavy burden, in which I cannot carry. I have been in my room for so many days, I stink, I havent eaten, and I am so thirsty. I am about to die, but I cannot stop thinking of her face. I know, it sounds pathetic, not being able to live without her. But it feels so crushing to not be able to see her. I know, it sounds nuts that she flew away from me, opening these massive wings and flying from her own tomb. But shes alive, and I know it. I cannot go on like this. I must... A sharp headache made him collapse. He started to shake violently, a force overpowering like no other. He could hear a voice inside him, echoing in his mind. "Mark! Mark! I am back! Please, get out, run, meet me at my tomb" echoed a voice. Mark stopped, feeling revived. It had to be Julia. He picked up his jacket and headed for the tomb. 9 Mark didnt know what to think, other than to go to where she said to. Mark jumped out the window, landing on the pavement. His mountainbike, still chained to the fence, eagerly waiting to tear down the track. Mark unchained it, hopped on his bike and sped down the road. The wind nipped his face, it was cold, indeed. Mark didnt live too far from the mountain, as did Julia. They only lived a few blocks away from each other, both of them visited each other a lot. Mark got down near the mountainside, seeing the cave entrance. Julia and Mark used to play Hide and Seek all the time as young children, or Tiggy, but as time went by, they didnt go as often, and just visited each other. He got to the cave, it was dark, gloomy and full of spiders webs. He got down near the stone that he rested her when he thought she died from the thunderbolt, searching for her. He searched high and low for her. "Julia? Julia? Julia...where are you?" he echoed through the cave. "Im afraid she didnt quite make it, young man" echoed another voice. A tall, dark, hooded figure stood by the entrance. Mark squinted his eyes, and after a short pause muttered "Who....who are you?". The tall man walked toward him. "Mark, I know you miss her. She was, after all, a beautiful lass. But that cannot change the fact that shes gone now". Mark frowned. "I dont believe you! Youre....youre lying to me! You didnt even tell me your name!" he yelled at him. "Now now" muttered the cloaked figure. "You dont have to get angry at me like that. I am only giving you news, and that is that Julia died. She was burnt alive, the poor dear" he muttered. Mark drew back tears, he was angry, so hurt by his comments. "She told me, she said she wanted to see you once more, but never got the chance to". At this moment, he drew his hood back. "I was her friend, her partner. But, I suppose, you wont ever see her again, Im afraid. Sorry, ol boy. You do seem rather nice, but it doesnt seem like shes ever coming back". Mark had tears running down his face as he fell to his knees. "Well, Mark, I must be leaving. Thanks for your time, and my condolences to you" he muttered as he took off. Mark burst into tears. She was truly gone, and it was a fact now that she wont ever come back. Mark picked up his bike and headed back home. Julia got to the cave. "Mark! Hey, Marcus! Where are you?" she hollered. No answer. She searched the cave, looking for him. Nobody there. "Maybe he didnt understand it" she muttered. Julia extended her wings and took off from the cave entrance. It was around nine o'clock, around the time when everyone went inside to sleep. She flew to Marks house, landing on the pavement. She closed her wings inside her back and headed to his room. Julia climbed up the fence, onto the second storey and up on his bedroom window. She peered in his room, seeing him, laying on the floor, clutching on a photo. He looked a mess, his eyes were red, tears streaming down his face. She didnt want to see him like this. She gently knocked on the window, getting Marks attention. Mark got up, opening the window to see what tapped the window. He looked out and sighed. "Nothing there" he muttered, walking back inside. Julia climbed in straight after him, as quiet as a mouse. Julia spoke up to him. "Look at me, Mark" she said. Mark moved around to see her. Through his mind, he wondered if it was an illusion or the real thing. He walked up to her slowly and put his hand through her hair. He could feel it, but still wasnt convinced. "Just another illusion" he muttered, as he turned away. Julia looked at him, confused that he could say such things. Mark sat on his bed, sniffling and drawing back tears. Julia sat beside him, held his hand and said "If I am an illusion, then this is real" she whispered,as she moved towards him. She kissed him, Mark could feel it. Mark drew back in surprise. "Julia! My god, its really you!" he said, surprised that it was actually her. He lifted her up, spun her around and put her feet back on the ground. They both looked at each others eyes, they both missed each other. They both hugged each other, Mark feeling her soft hair, Julia resting her head on Marks chest. They both wanted to stay this way forever, but Mark spoke up. "Julia, where have you been? Why didnt you come to see me? Ive been so worried!" he said. Julia thought about it all, wondering about how she could explain it to him. "Mark, close your eyes, and dont focus on anything except for the touch of my hand" she instructed. Mark nodded and closed his eyes. Julia touched his forehead, a small light glowing around heer hand. After five seconds, she let go. Mark fell down, it was too much for his untrained mind to comprehend. He stood up and said to Julia "So, youre a queen? And....youre not a real human? I...I...I dont know what to say.." he started to look down. Julia knelt down next to him. "Mark, I am part of a race, not of Earth, but very close. I am from Alvadarion, but I was born on Earth. Please, dont look at me any different". Mark paused. "I have another question. That man on the beast, who was that?". Julia spoke without haste. "Thats Archwellgian. Hes the enemy of my home planet, he wants nothing more than destruction" Mark began to give a worried look. "Mark, darling, whats wrong?" she muttered. "He....I..... I saw him! He was the one that told me you were dead!" Julia frowned and stomped the floor. "I knew he was coming! I knew it! Thats why I got here!" Mark looked at her confusingly. "Youre not gonna fight him, are you?" he stammered. Julia raised her head and said "I must do what I came here for- to protect my home!" 10 "Did you find it? Where is it, scum?" snapped Archwellgian. A young guard stammered to his feet. "Sir....I....I couldnt..." "WHAT DO YOU MEAN, COULDNT?!" he burst out. "I am in a hurry, you little shit. You find it right now or I...." The young guard knew he was going to die, stammering and trembling before the evil lords knees. "Sir.....we arent looking in the right spot! Theres no way that we could possibly find it in...." Archwellgian raised his arm. The young guard yelped in surprise as he was lifted up. "You obviously forget about who I am, dont you?" he bellowed. The guard yelping in mid air knew he was going to die. Archwellgian clapped his hands together loudly as the young guard exploded in mid air. "You little twits do what he does, and this is your consequence" he yelled. "Move it!" he ordered. Julia and Mark both headed for the window. The time read on the digital clock at around 1:00 AM. They both leapt out, landing on the soft grass. Mark looked a little disturbed. "Julia, I dont even know what to do! I mean, all I am is a burden to you, and I dont want that to happen" he said. Julia looked down at the ground. He was right, he was a lot more slow-footed than Julia, even if he had a mountain bike. She closed her eyes, thinking back to what her dear uncle taught her. She had a memory, clear as day in her mind, showing her some mind techniques. A mental picture played in her mind, as she thought about it. "Good, good, my young niece" he said to her. "You are doing so well. You can already control most of your mind, but it is energy that needs to be focused, in order to know how to fight" he said. Faranagard stood back, whipped his arm and sent a massive boom colliding down the hallway. A climbing wall, 10 metres thick, tumbled into a smoking pile of mess. Julia jumped back in surprise. "Thats only the smallest amount of what I have. Julia, I can sense a power in you, bottled up. Its about to burst, and if you can control it, you would have more power than I". Julia was stunned. More power than that could be very well destructive. "Ok, Julia, focus. Look at that wall over there and aim for it". She started to shake her arms. A humming noise broke from her palm. "Thats it Julia! Focus! Aim!" yelled Faranagard. She made a small grunt, releasing a massive spiral-like ray from her palms. It burst through, tearing through ten walls, each about . Faranagard stared at her in surprise. "Julia, that was only....a tiny fraction of your power! That....oh my...." he stammered. Julia was proud of herself, anybody that could tear that much with a small go was good enough. He walked to her. "Julia, let me teach you something that your brother taught me. This is an Energy sharing technique that your brother had discovered. This can give any lifeform energy like yours, but be careful that you dont give too much" he instructed. Julia nodded her head. Faranagard rested his right hand on her back, a warm feeling ran down her back. She felt energetic, moreso than before. "I can feel it Uncle, I can!" she said excitedly. Faranagard nodded and smiled. "Now, its your turn. Breathe slowly, focus your energy gently. Close your eyes, and feel me breathing". She could feel herself getting slightly tired. "Good, good, yes, thats the ticket! You have it!" he said aloud. Julia smiled, being pleased with her effort. Snapping out of it, she rested her hand on Mark. Mark jerked a bit, as if he was being electrocuted. Julia took her hand off slowly, Mark falling to the ground. Julia ran down to Mark. "Mark! Mark, you ok?" she panicked. Mark began to laugh. He jumped up at about six feet high, landing hard into the ground. Rising up he yelled "I feel great! Lets go!" he yelled. Mark and Julia both ran together towards the mountain. Running at an immense speed, probably faster than sound, they ran toward the moutain. Mark started to grow tired, Julia constantly giving him more power. As they finally got to the mountainside, they reached the caves. "Julia, I dont see him, theres no way we can find him, he could be anywhere" "Hush, Mark, he is here, I can feel him" she whispered. Mark nodded his head in agreement. They crept along the cold, wet walls, both hearing the wind whistle, the leaves crackling amongst the rocky terrain. "Wait here" whispered Julia. Julia crept further. The cold, sharp wind of the night pinching her face, an even colder feel in her mind. The coldness of evil, she could feel it. But where? "My lord, I have found it!" shouted a guard. Archwellgian cackled. "Ah, so here it is, the Cold Crystal of Darkness" He began to cackle out loud, placing the Crystal to a small platform. He and the guards stood back, as the blackened crystal began to shine more darkness around the room. Red fire lit around the platform, sparking and cracking small displays of what looked like molten rock. Archwellgian began to laugh an evil, cold laugh, as the platform shook and opened. Rock flew everywhere, sending many soldiers to their death. The molten rock began to morph a shape, it did not spew out, like a volcano. It formed the shape of a human, but not made of lava. No, that would be too predictable. The beast formed a giant human figure, eyes glowing a fiery red. The platform returned to its normal self, the crystal still in place. Archwellgian stood below it, picking up the crystal. He flew up to its face, levitating toward the giant beast. "Look at you, a figure of true power. Nothing, not even that brat Julia can defeat you now". The giant stomped its feet, crushing the few soldiers left. Archwellgian cackled. "Show me your power!" he roared. The giant bellowed a soft grunt, as metallic spikes stuck out of its back. "My lord, I am ready for anything". the giant bellowed. Archwellgian smiled. "Good. Now go and destroy her!" A rumbling erupted from the mountain. Julia swung her head around, as rocks tumbled out to the vast plains. The mountain had been blown apart by some powerful force. The cave began to cave in, rocks tumbling down. "Mark! Mark we gotta get outta here!" she said, not turning to his unconscious body. "Mark! Come on, we got....." She turned, seeing him knocked out. A massive gash spilled blood from his arm, his head merely grazed. She picked him up, grunting. A massive rock covered the entrance. They were stuck! "Oh no, not now!" she yelled, sending a ray bursting through the rocks. She extended her wings, picked Mark up again and flew out. As she flew out, the immense rock giant eyed her. Julia landed Mark safely on a small forested area. "Mark, stay here, please, recover, and may God take care of you" she whispered, kissing his forehead. She frowned and set off to meet the giant. Julia flew up to its head, flapping her giant wings. The giant cackled. "So you are the all great Julia, Queen of Alvadarion?" he boomed. Julia frowned. "Who sent you?" she yelled. The rock giant roared, smashing his fist into the mountain, causing an earthquake. Julia flicked her hair. "If thats suppose to scare me, tell your so-called lord that hes gonna have one helluva surprise" 11 Awaking to the noise of massive explosions, Mark grunted, rubbing his eyes. He couldnt see much, it was preety blurry. He struggled to get up, using his left arm. A sharp pain shot through his arm, causing him to fall. "Damn!" he yelled, punching the ground down. he used the other arm to get up, wobbling a bit. His arm was extremely sore, not only due to the graze either. Mark checked his arm. It had been dislocated badly, but what from? he thought. Using his jacket and a stick, he made a sling, blood gushing out from the graze. He shot his head up to see Julia, the winged darling of Alvadarion, flying to fight an evil beast. Julia charged to the beast, tackling into its chest, the beast plummeting into the ground. It roared as it fell, crashing into the rocky mountain. It started to pick itself up, struggling to get its mighty arms out from under the pile of rocks. With a roar, it slammed its arms out, clutching onto its arm in pain. It turned its head to Julia, eyeing her a cold, deadly stare. It stomped and charged towards her. Julia flew at his ankle, clutching on, flying up to the sky. The giant bellowed, grunting. "Let go, you little brat!" he bellowed. Julia flung the giant over her shoulder with great effort, hurling it down into the ground. It collided to the mountain peak, snapping the giants neck. The giant bellowed in pain. Julia felt a great amount of pity for the beast. It didnt seem to want to do this, it felt like it was forced to, at least to her eyes. A small, whining grunt purred from it as it began to stand up. Its feet wobbled as it struggled to stand. It toppled over, landing on its knees. Julia felt sorry for it, it obviously couldnt go on much longer. The giant spoke. "Please" it roared, outstretching his arm. "Kill me, I want this torture to end. The leader sent me to do this, and if you leave me here, I'm going to suffer a long time of torture! Please! Kill me!" he yelled. Julia charged a ray of a golden light. As she powered it up, she lifted her head, winked at the giant. With one final shot, the giant fell to its death. Julia rose and spoke out. "Now you are free from the foe. Return to the earth as you once were". Julia sighed in relief, hearing a rushing of footsteps. Mark rushed to her. "Julia!" he shouted. "Julia, oh thank god you're okay, I knew you could do it!" he said. Julia looked shockingly at his arm. "Mark, your arm is broken! Oh god....we need to get you to a hospital!" she said, worried about Mark. He clutched onto his arm. Blood covered his arm, he began to feel slightly faint. She grabbed Marks arm. "Mark, take my hand. I will help you....". A figure raised from the mountain. "So, you killed off one, didnt you? You thought you had defeated me. But believe me, that giant was just a grain of sand in comparisin to my power" yelled out Archwellgian. Julia clutched onto Mark's jacket, Mark's eyes rolling back. Archwellgian grinned. "Oh look, your boy, hes not looking too well, is he?" he taunted. Julia frowned, holding onto him. "Mark, are you okay?" she asked. "I'll.....be fine...just keep safe, okay?" gasped Mark. Julia nodded. Mark began to shake, soon after falling down. Mark let off a growl, a sign that he was still alive. Archwellgian laughed, Julia felt a rush of anger in her. "Leave him alone! He did nothing wrong!" she snapped. "Such a feisty attitude for someone so weak. Time to show you real power, Julia" taunted Archwellgian. Julia smirked, standing up. "Bring it on", she taunted back. 12 "Quick! Move! Hurry, this way!" yelled random townsfolk, running from the burning city. Mothers and children, crying. Fathers holding belongings, pets, loved ones in their arms, running on still. Wailing cries echoed through the town. "My baby! Where is my baby?" wailed a mother, carried off into the crowd as she screamed for her missing child. Thousands of people, killed in the blaze, many were crushed by giant debris from Mount Eaglefell. Others were lucky to be alive. The alarm was distant now, and as far as everyone knew, it was some kind of volcano that erupted after 200 years of sleep, but little did they know that it was something more. Julia raised her head up. A strong power flowed inside of her, not powered by anger, but of some unknown adrenalin rush. Something inside made her want to fight the evil fiend, but not purely for his bloodshed. It was for freedom. Archwellgian raised his arms out. His finger pointed at the sky, his fingertips glowing. It made a razor sharp cutting sound, enough to pierce the ears. A ripping light froze the sky. Everything was frozen, the land, the people, the sky, everything stopped. It felt cold, not breezy, but empty. Julia growled in her teeth. "What did you do?" she yelled. Archwellgian smirked. "Just froze time. Itd be a pain in the arse if we have weakling bystanders blocking us." he snapped. "Come on, O Queen Julia, fight me!" he taunted, motioning his hand towards him. Julia closed her eyes. Time is dead. Life on Earth, frozen. The poor souls dont even know it, she thought, Theyre all so scared, theyre all afraid of their fate. I must save them. I must. I came here to save them, and if I fail, I fail the universe. she thought. A warm feeling flowed through her hands, a milky light breathing from her hands like a soft steam. She clapped her hands, a flash of light blinding the area. Out of her left hand, a silver Shringard formed. Julia ran her hand down the long bar, feeling the cold, metallic weapon. A bright emerald stood inside the clamp at the end, shining its own light. Julia spun it around, spinning it around without even trying, but so flawless in technique. She snapped into the fighting stance, frowning and growling. Archwellgian burst into a fit of laughter. "Look at you... youre trying to scare me with that act? Come on and fight". She extended her wings, her power pushing her to a fast speed. She could feel this in slow motion, the Shringard cutting the air, her body flying at a great speed. Archwellgian swiftly punched her face with his back hand, causing Julia to fly to the grounds surface at a faster speed than her flight. She moaned in pain, spitting out dirt in her mouth. Archwellgian put his feet on the ground. "Told you so. I knew you would be eating dust just like your father" he snapped. Julia struggled to get up. She could taste blood in her mouth, spitting out a tooth. She looked up at him with a sharp eye, smirking. "You dont scare me" she replied, sweeping him to the ground. Archwellgian fell, his head hitting the ground. He groaned a bit, looking up. "Oh, thats good. Someone can actually fight back at me. I like that" he grunted. With a small push, he landed back on his feet. Julia and Archwellgian, standing directly in front of each other, a 20 metre separation between them. Julia screamed, rushing foward, lunging towards him. Archwellgian sped forward, punching her in the stomach. She felt winded, her insides felt crushed in a singular blow. Julia dropped to the ground, dropping like a dead fly. She couldnt see anything, the shock overrode her so much that she felt numb. All she could do was moan in pain, lying on the ground in an embryotic stance. Archwellgian walked up to her, Julia saw his feet up to her face. Archwellgian nudged her on her back with his foot, inspecting her. He grinned, ready to make the kill. "Now its time, O Mighty Queen, for your death" he said in an evil tone. He kicked her high in the sky, Julia spinning at a high speed. She smacked into the mountain. She could hear her heart beating, nothing else could be felt but a sensational numbness around her body. Archwellgian paced towards her, looking at his silver sheath and taking out a small blade, black, bleeding from the tip. Julia could see him coming, and she knew for sure that she was going to die. The ground around her rushed around, glowing a purple and blue colour, a beautiful mist surrounding her. Julia felt warm inside of her. It felt, strangely warm, like as if something was comforting her. A whisper echoed through her. "Julia.....Julia....." whispered a soft voice. She looked around, wondering where it came from. "Julia....hear me......your father and king commands you......". Julia looked around, wondering what it was. She looked down at the ground, thinking of who it could be. A thought overcame her. "F...Father?" she spoke out aloud. The voice began to breathe heavily. "Julia.... let me inside of you... so that I may fight alongside my daughter....so that I can rest peacefully....." the voice of Cataragard whispered. Julia opened her arms, a glowing light forming her. Archwellgian fell, cowering in fear. "Light! Light! I hate it! Put it out!" he cried in torment. Julia stood tall, feeling so much stronger than before. She grasped her Shringard, smiling broadly. "Wow, I feel so alive!" she excitedly burst out, discovering that her voice had changed. It morphed from a normal voice to a dual voice, one being low, one being a bit higher pitched. It surprised her, but she didnt mind. She knew her noble father was fighting inside of her, and to be fighting with such a hero was great enough for her. She looked at Archwellgian, picking himself up. Over she walked to the crawling, demented figure of evil, Julia glowing with every step. She placed her foot over his head, crushing it down into the grounds surface. He moaned in pain, grazing his face into the sharp pebbles on the surface. "So this is the evil lord I was told to fight. This is the guy who wanted to kill Cataragard's Daughter, only for the sake of his worthless father". Julia started to shine more, Archwellgian crying in pain. "Please....please, I'll do anything, anything, just dont shine that terrible light on me! Please, I will..... I will be your eternal slave, please, let me go, and you have my word". Julia removed her foot from his face, Archwellgian laying there motionless. He began to chuckle with an evil tone, Julia looking at his worthless body on the dirt. He smashed his fist in the ground, he began to laugh out loud. "Fool!" he yelled. "You're dead now!" he yelled. Julia smashed her foot into his head, this time his skull smashing into the ground. He cried out in pain, his jaw broken from the force of her foot. He moaned in pain, this time, writhing like a worm."You dont get it, do you?" she snapped. She started to glow a ray from her hand, lowering it to his chest area. Archwellgian shook, trembling in fear. "Please.....please spare me" he begged, his voice quaking in fear. She turned her head, outstretching her arm. "It ends" she muttered, finalising the fight with one powerful blast. A golden ray burst through him, but it didnt actually punch through him. No, it filled his black soul. He began to glow, screaming out in pain, his body shattering like glass. With every crack, light shone throughout it. He began to wail out in pain, a scream echoed like no other. He shattered, sparks shimmering around like a firework on a New Years Eve night. An echo pulsed through, a cry that Julia would never forget. "I'll get you" echoed through, as he had been defeated. Time returned back, the land coloured again instead of its black-and-white form it had. Life returned to Earth, the people motioning again, people running from the blazing city. The city was a burning mess, Julia had to do something, she knew she could fix it. She extended her wings and closed her eyes, frowning in concentration. She began to tense, outstretching her hand, hollering. The fire lifted, spinning from the ground into a tornado, sucking into oblivion. The fires that were once terrorising the city had gone into nothing. The townsfolk stopped, muttering in confusion. Julia tensed more, gritting her teeth together hard. Slowly, one by one, people began to rise from the once burning wreckage, looking at their arms, looking confused, wondering if they were dead or alive. The people gathered around the town, holding people they had momentarily lost. Many cried in joy, holding children and pets. With one last flight, Julia glowed a golden light around her, sparkling so brightly. The townsfolk pointed and stared in amazement, never had they seen anything so glorious. Julia flew away, the people cheering as she left. It was now time to go find Mark, he had to be around somewhere. Around the forest, she searched everywhere. She found Mark, lying on the ground, his arm getting worse. Lying down next to him, she felt his hair. Mark's eyes began to roll back. "Julia......Julia, Im not gonna make it........" he puffed. Tears welled up in Julias eyes. "Dont say that, please dont...". Mark held Julia's hair. "Julia....I love you so much... youre so beautiful...." he whispered. He held her hand as he began to make a death rattle. Julia closed her eyes, trying to restore life back in him, but his blood was too strong and pure. He coughed, blood staining his teeth. A cloud formed around them, rain pouring down. Thunder struck the sky, booming deeply amonst the plains. "Julia....your blood is my blood...." muttered Mark. Julia didnt understand, shaking her head in confusion. "Julia....I....I am one of your kind...I...I never told you...I never wanted to....but I....I guess my last moments are with you...I might as well say it to you....." He began to shake, making a choking sound. "I love you......my...queen...." he whispered. She felt his wrist. The pulse slowed down into nothing. Julia burst into tears, holding Marks jacket. Tears ran down her face as she held on to her lost love. No hospital could return his blood, it was not of Earthly blood. She knew, however, that it wasnt too late. Julia placed her hand on him, a glowing light like no other flowing into him. He began to move, twitching his arm. She felt slightly drained of her energy, as she gave him her power. Mark awoke, alive, not so lively, but he had woken up. "Julia, oh my god Julia...thank god I can see you again..." he whispered, holding her head. She layed down next to him, his arm completely recovered, not bleeding, not broken, completely healed. Julia lifted him up, embracing him. Tears ran down each others eyes. "That was close" muttered Mark. Julia giggled a bit. The rain falling down on them didnt bother them. Julia let go, and spoke up. "Mark" she muttered, looking at the ground. "Mark, come with me, come back to my home. We can live together, but its only up to you. Please, please come". Mark looked down to the ground. He could live a life with his family, or his only love. He walked around, his mind troubling him. Julia looked down in sorrow. Mark walked up to Julia, holding her hand. "Close your eyes. Lets go home" he smiled. Julia closed her eyes, thinking of her heavenly home. Both Mark and Julia held tight, as both spun down a colourful spiral of light. Both Mark and Julia landed at their home. It had been restored back from the previous battle, everything repaired. Faranagard paced up, his arms out. He held Julia tightly. "Oh my dear Julia! My beloved niece has returned!" he said, excitedly. He looked at Mark, smiling. "So I see you brought over a friend!" he said with an uplifting tone. "Please, come, Julia. Its time for you to see your people". A loud, trumpeting sound played a fanfare, loud enough to affect the whole city. Many gathered around, wondering what the announcement was. Faranagard outstretched his hands, silencing the crowd. After a moment of silence, he began to announce. "People of Alvadarion, I have great news" he boomed. "We have had the leave of our queen, Julia. But I announce that she hath returned!" The crowd cheered as she stepped out, gracefully with outstretched arms. The crowd cheered, hollering and celebrating her return. Mark came out, holding her hand. Julia leaned her head against him, whispering to him. "Mark, you realise, if you marry me, your going to be a king of a place you never knew". Mark ducked his head down, his forehead against hers. "My darling, if I became King, I wouldnt care. As long as it is time spent with you, my life is complete". Julia sighed happily and whispered back to him. "If youre here with me, my life is complete". Walk on down, one by one
Are you going to follow the reaper? Walk on for miles and miles Fall off the cliff, follow your leader How does it feel to be a clone Following your leader until death do you part? Cut the strings that make you a puppet Make the choice to follow your own heart Take the next step, just like your leader Follow her every single word Believe in the lies she feeds you Can you not see how this is absurd? There she is, holding onto her gun Shaking yet shes ready to fire And let you know how she hated you Make her feel like a dirty liar Just one more thing before I go Are you just stupid, or were you born that way? Go ahead, hate who I am I guess thats all I have to say.
