I've read both books, and they both came highly recommended from a friend. I read The Lovely Bones first, and it was so absorbing I could not put it down. I wrote about 3 stories inspired by that. It's a beautifully written story. I'm glad other people here have read it, I was going to start a thread on it myself but... here it is! Tazzy, I cried reading it too. Sometimes I just could not help it. I was always getting a bit frustrated whenever Mr Harvey got away, bastard.
Lucky is a bit... disturbing, at least the first chapter is. The rest of the book can be uplifting at times, strength of the human spirit... it's quite amazing. amy la calabazita

there is one part in that book that i think is so beautiful...when i read it i got this beautiful picture in my head. its the bit when the dad is in mr harveys garden, and he is asking for a sign that susie watches him, and he is looking at a plant and susie is in heaven and she is trying to make the plants flowers grow, and they are growing around her in heaven, but she cant make them grow on earth...i cried during that bit.

I heard about this book too, saw ppl on the train readin it. a co worker of mine was readin it, wasn't it on opera's book club thing? anyways she said the beginning was a good start but then it just kinda fades a little and loses it's momentum and how the author just jumps from place to place is irratic. She said it was too hyped up, she said that She's Come Undone (another opera book club) was definately more worthy of being read and hyped up. Course I don't read stuff like that. I'm more of a darker read
