I'll be all in for some deathmath, after I get my new computer parts in the mail (Friday) and I break in single player mode. I got it at Best Buy this morning but I'll just have to sit and stare at the box until I can get my new stuff up and running.

Heh, I got it two days ago.

I must say that it's an ok game.

Don't plan on running it well unless you have a 2.5ghz+ Processor with a Minimum of 512MB RAM, with a current 3d card.

Anything less will result in very poor detail and choppy gameplay (I would know)
I can only play at 800x600 on low detail. Don't count me in for any Death Matches

Well the min req are 1.5ghz, 384mb Ram, and a modern video card.

But even if you have that, you are going to be running it at 640x480 with all the details off. Makes the game very very boring.

My video card is actually slightly under the requirments, and the rest barely meets them. I was hoping it would still run on the minimum settings. But if your saying its not even that good at the minimum settings its probably not worth it. When your running it at all the minimum settings, does it still look better then most other games, or is it just the same as everything else then? I wish there was a demo or something that would solve my whole problem.

Can't really say it looks that great on the lowest settings.

I mean all the advanced lighting and such is toned down, textures are low res, things like that. It wont look anything like what you see in the screenshots, and it will be choppy as well.

Thanks, sounds like I might as well skip it untill I get a better computer next year. Might not work at all, and from what you say even if it does work it wont be very good.

I am SO up for deathmatch.

I got Doom today because i pre-ordered it and it came early to the store for one reason or another. I have a laptop so im running an ATI Radeon 9600 mobility and I had a shit of a time just getting the game to run. I eventually got modified drivers for the Mobility, but it screwed up the resolution. When I play the game, I have an 800x600 window in a screen thats about 1200x800 with a three inch ring of black the whole way around(yes, I know about the fullscreen option, it didn't work).

Damn, I've got a new system too and it still can hardly run it.

1.7Centrino=about 3.0-4.0 gHZ i think
Radeon 9600 64mb
512 RAM
80GB Harddrive

If anyone else has the same problem with the Mobility drivers, PM me and I can send you a link that will help.

Besides that its hella scary.
