Yes i have been a complete ass on this board arrogant, nasty and annoying, i apologise for the pain and annoyance i have caused but i could not let this board bash a band that i loved and especially a singer that i respect, so yes i joined to appose arrogant and nasty views and maybe turn this board into something of hope instead of tragedy, but i now see that i shouldn't have interferred because it was not my place to intrude.

I can see that you have all formed opinions on the band and amy and i have no say in what these opinions are. I believed i may have been able to stop and control the nastiness that was occuring, but that is also not in my control. I realise that i have offended people of many views and i apologise. I am really not annoying or arrogant but this board really triggered a nerve, because i will NEVER understand how people judge or hate people that they will ever meet. I have stepped over the line many times, because i am overwhelmed with anger and by the time i have posted a response it's too late to take it back which i also take full resonsibility for. You can hate me or you can accept my apology.i didn't mean to offend anyone through my time on this board i just got carried away with my own selfish opinions without thinking about other people and their opinions.

the only thing you would really be able to do in audacity to see the "alayers" would remove kind of like the top layer of vocals and make what people call the kind of karoake tracks with just the music, but still have some of the layered vocals that you dont always hear.

audacity is a very simple and basic program and does not have the features necessary to do any real work with music, unlike something like protools.

also - most cds/songs these days have layered tracks, some more than others.

even when you wouldnt think the song is layered it is. theyll double the track of the person singing the same line to make it sound stronger, thicker, richer. thats why so many artists use backing tracks when performing live because it is physically impossible to recreate the cd because of all the production that goes into it.

i dont have a problem with all the layers on the open door. i really enjoy it because almost every time i listen to it, i find something new and pay attention to something different. even after listening to those songs for over a year, i discover something different and i love that.

and amy does a decent job of performing the songs live so i dont have a problem with what she does in the studio.

the layers are just part of the art. the artists decides what they want. you can like or dislike it. that's up to you. to each his/her own.

I sure did........not from sheer amazement however. It was all the shrieking and whining. It SCARED me!

I found that the first few songs hooked me right away, where as a lot of the other songs have taken some time to really grow on me.

A rather different approach to the previous album, but its good that they are trying to expand their horizons. Though I find to a degree, the electronica influence in places is sometimes a little over done. But that could just be me.
