i agree that one reason why some people don't appreciate The Open Door as much as Fallen is because the lyrics this time around are not as sophisticated or articulate, although they're still pretty good, another reason could be because their new sound is a lot more mature and i've heard some dissent on that as well. Personally, TOD is just as memorable for me as Fallen and musically wise doesn't diminish their talent, although i do hope that the subtlety will return. Anyway TOD still spoke volumes and i hope that Evanescence can continue to make music as a band.

Yo, I love The Open Door album, it sounds more "metallic" than it's preceding album, Fallen. My favorite track is number 9 "Lose Control" starts kind of soft and melodic and then it turns to a buzzing jolt of cords and it goes soft again, it's crazy XD and I also like Snow White Queen, it's a great album, it worthed every single cent.

I absolutely love every song on it! Of course the first I heard was CMWYS and loved that. Then (since I'm addicted to the showtime seriese The Tudors) I heard Lacrymosa on a trailer for the show and fell in love. Bought the album which I rarely do, (I'm more of a downloader) and enjoyed every track!

I just love the way Ev has, this very unique way of playing softly,
then having the pounding cords! I think thats increadable.
I will always hold this album close, and to me, this is all what
Ev is, and really stands for!!!

As a matter of fact, I listened to the album today after lunch, and I just loved it. When I bought it, in 2005, I didn't like it a lot, so I put it away so I could listen later. After 2 years, I played it once again and I just fell in love with the album. I try not to compare it with Fallen, but The Open Door is somehow stronger, maybe because of the guitars - Weight of the World just impressed me... anyway, the album is great, and all I had to do was to get used to it - as I knew when I put it away in 2005...

Hi guys

So, I'm sorry to post this here, it's and old doubt. About the digital TOD, we got TLSIWOY and an interview. Does someone have this interview or knows a link from YouTube?

And about the "booklet", I've posted 2 images on EvanescenceReference.info (The At of The Open Door) with the digital pages of Lacrymosa and Like You, different rom the buyed CD. So, I've read on EvThreads that there's a hidden thing too

I don't Know if anyone has posted this (sorry, I'm too lazy too read that far back )

but if you have the itunes digital booklet for the open door, got to the credits section (the lower of the centre butterflies) and then click on the little sun logo, it brings you to a site that shows the making of the cover for the open door.

I found this a couple of weeks ago, but has anyone else found odd/cool stuff in it as well?
Is this the same image in the back insert? Does the digital booklet change is something else?
Thanks anyway

no i cant really compare either albums there both awesome but "good enough" hit me straight in the heart.

i really love "the open door", expresses so many feelings. amy really talks my language in this album yet my boyfriend unfortunately doesnt like amy lee or her voice. i think both are amazing and ive been told by alot of people i sound like her.
i dont totally think i do maybe a little but i do have more of my own voice.
anyway he doesnt seem to like her voice, i debate lool i love it
he only like two of her songs and thats sweet sacrifice and bring me to life.
i love all of em, but cant force him eh?.
we both love alter bridge and 3 doors down at the end of the day he just doesnt totally agree with me on evanescence

If you appreciate dynamics then a band that will BLOW your mind is Opeth. Trust me...they are fucking fantastic. Swedish Progressive Death metal although they can't really be placed in a genre. Give them a listen. They are ...out of this world.
