you need to have a sim that lives in Strangetown, make him look through the telescope until he's abducted by aliens, when he comes back home he'll be pregnant with an alien baby, it works on both genders... I haven't tried, but it might also work in another town if you have the crashed alien spaceship somewhere in it, 'cause I've had sims in Veronaville look through telescopes and nothing happened so I can only assume that the spaceship is the deciding factor...

ahhhh i think i tried looking through the telescope and i just got bored with it. its been ages since i played the sims on my computer. i now feel like playing.

If you don't mind cheating, then the 'boolProp TestingCheatsEnabled true' cheat can be used to let aliens come and abduct the Sim, and this works in every town. But I'm also not sure whether it's possible to be abducted in other villages than Strangeville.
But anyway, I loved playing Sims, it was fun and relaxing. I have University, Nightlife and Open for Business. I thought of buying the other expansion packs also, but then I lost interest (so it's good that I didn't manage to buy any more expansion packs, lol)
Still, sometimes it's good to play Sims, I think that making a Sim and building are the most fun parts of the game! :P

i have the pets and vacation one and i love those ones, the bussiness i borrowed i off a friend and then changed computers so i dont play that one. i think seasons could also be good fun.

I love the Sims...I'm almost obsessed! I have it on My computer, My Gameboy, My DS, My PSP, My WII, My PS2, My PS3, My X-Box, and My GameCube!!!! Yes, I love Video Games!!!! Does anyone know the money cheat for the computer? I think it's something like...You Pause the game. Type in Control/Shift Something (This part I don't know). When a box comes up, type in something like Rosebud; ;; Then hold ENTER!!! Someone help me on this!!!!!! Please!

that is the cheat for the old game, for the newer one
you type shift control c (no need to pause the game) and just type motherlode

I have to add that if you want to use this cheat, then the most of the possibilities gives the mailbox.. just hold down Shift button and click on the mailbox after you've typed in the cheat. And after you've finished using the cheat, type in the cheat again but replace 'true' with 'false'.
And lucky you, I'd rather have Pets and Vacation than OFB or University. Nightlife is quite good, though.

I'm addicted to The Sims. I have Nightlife, University and a few Stuff packs, fun shiznit. I get so mad at my vampires though. Like seriously... why do they get up at 3:00 PM to go outside and pick weeds? o.O Also I have this senile old man that just won't die! He set the grill on fire among other things and just about killed everyone inside the house 3 times. He was on fire for like 30 minutes one time and didn't die... it was depressing.

I have on my PC: Nightlife, University, Bussiness, Seasons, Vacation.. uhm.. that's about it, I think!
I have on my PS2: Pets!

I like Seasons, University and Nightlife best! ^^
