My favorite part of the movie is where the Wiecked Witch of the West has her famous melting scene. "I'm mellllttiiinnngg!" Wait a second, there are people here who haven't seen the movie? This situation must be fixed!

HA i was talking about this in IRC.
The Wizard of Oz Is a very special movie in my family. Back in the day it used to be aired once a year. Every year me and my family would invite all the youngins over and we had a Wizard of Oz party. This is a tradition that i will carry over with my family. It was one night of the year i would get to stay up real late. Even to this day my aunt Linda (which we used to joke her and call her Glinda) she does all the voices. One time when she was living out of state i called to talk to her and begged her to do the lion. Of course she was like No. So the begging went on. And i finally got her to do it. So she said "If I were king of the Forest..." At that exact moment her boss walked in and cracked up. She does the voice so perfectly. I have Wizard of Oz stuff all over my house. This movie will always be one of my Fave movies. I couldn't give you a fave part of the movie. I love the movie.

Someone must have read my mind because I was thinking of starting a thread regarding this movie.
This is definately one of my favourite movies of all time. When me and my brother were a lot younger than we are now it used to air on the television every Christmas and we as a family would just sit there and watch it. It was really nice to sit down and be together and watch a movie we all enjoyed. My favourite character had to be tin man I thought he was so cute when he cried!! I remember saying to my parents "mum he can have my heart" hehe

THERES NO PLACE LIKE HOME!
haha, yeah that takes a bit of remembering sometimes. this is a great movie, have you all seen the sequel? return to oz, its brill. much darker, and i like it more. not as cheesy. haha, but i know its the cheesyness (is that a word?) that you all love. teehee. but ummmm... the lion is gorgeous, and the munchkins. and talking about the second one, i grew up playing on these rocks on the beach, not touching the sand becuase it was the "deadly desert." lmao. |

Heh, Wizard of Oz. My sister was obsessed with it, I never was, but I've seen it a fair few times. Well, a lot, actually. The monkeys and the evil witch used to freak the hell out of me when I was younger. Fuh-reak-y...

OH, I've seen the The Wiz, I've seen several versions, I want to see Wicked too(the new musical on Bway) even if it strays a bit from the stories.
I have a few wizard of oz things in my room. Say all you want about the monkeys in the Wizard of Oz, but that Lady with the changeable heads scared the crap out of me, she was in Return to Oz. I like them both. |
